Found you on UA-cam a few months ago. Quickly became my favorite art related channel. Love the sarcasm, editing, and watching you draw live. Keep up the awesome work.
Found you on UA-cam when researching procreate. Seeing your illustration style was a hook. Plus the similarity with the ADD thing as an artist and art director. It relates
Glad I found you're channel here on YT. This video was really inspiring because I went through the same experiences as you and now I'm hitting 100K subs. Keep going mate, you're on the right path.
I discovered you here on UA-cam! I practically listen to you every day while I work, and your advice is invaluable! Oh, and of course, I now follow you on various social media! I love your work! Thank you!!
I'm from Brazil and I love your channel! Please keep going! Found you last month and I'm obsessed with your art, your videos and the Fresco Fryday staff...
I found you while looking for fresco tutorials. Yes, I found your old videos you don’t like. But I like them. As a fellow ADHDer, I love to hear about how you manage ~timey wimey~ stuff. While I’m not an illustrator per se, I do produce technical illustrations for my clients. Seeing your workflow helps me imagine better processes for my own. I didn’t even realize you taught in Skillshare. I’ve been a subscriber since the olden days when they used to schedule in-person classes as well as online ones. Going to check out your classes now! Keep up the good work!
Never seen you before a few days ago. But saw the Fresco videos recommended by THE ALGORITHM and I've been a bit excited about all the things it does and I also have ADHD (pretty sure) and have been binge watching your stuff to learn more about Fresco. Would love to see a follow up on this video later this year to see how the finances continue to trend. I've always been curious about the income of smaller youtube channels, but as you pointed out, it's hard to find.
Found you on UA-cam based on a comment you made on another channel. Watched this entire video and was very interested in how you got started…thanks for sharing. I am very much interested in all of this creative stuff. You got me…SUBSCRIBED!
I discovered you last week on UA-cam. You convinced me to make fresco my #1 app on my Ipad Pro after not knowing anything about it. I do both vector automotive art and painterly landscape illustrations and I've always gone back and forth between Photoshop and Illustrator. Fresco is starting to feel like t one app to do it all for me. Anyways , thanks for sharing this with us and congrats on 10K subs!
I just joined as a member! This is by far the most I've ever engaged with a UA-cam channel (I've literally only ever commented on a select few videos since the inception of UA-cam, yet I find myself inspired to comment here regularly) and I definitely see the value of accessing your extra content, so it feels perfectly justified for such a small fee. I hope more viewers will continue to join and help make the channel more than sustainable, and encourage you to keep going. Thanks for being so transparent and allowing us to understand the inner workings of what it takes to bring us this stream of golden nuggets!
I stumbled upon your channel a few weeks ago, when I was going down a fresco rabbit hole! My most recent hyperfocus has been drawing on my iPad (now with a fancy new Zugu case!😅), thanks very much for all the useful and entertaining advice!
I found you in a search on you tube. Looking to learn simple animation in Fresco. I am an illustrator also . I only have apps on my iPad Pro so you are like the only one I found who could explain the techniques on apps like Fresco & illustrator. I haven’t seen any for Adobe Rush app or capture those would be good also. Thank you for your help.
I found you on UA-cam by searching procreate tutorials because I was struggling with the layers. And now I use both procreate and fresco. I really enjoy your Channel
I found you through UA-cam! About to take one of your Skillshare courses. I'm very happy for you and it's great to see someone else that's managing ADHD and finding success, not to mention sharing the 'how' with us. I just turned on all notifications for your channel so I don't miss any videos, sometimes I need a reminder to double-check!
Gald to be a member! I'm a professional videogame concept artist in Seattle and while I LOVE drawing for my job your channel has inspired me to get back to doing more personal art in my free time! (USING FRESCO of course lol) and I'm currently shooting my very own first you tube eppisode!~ So I just wanted to say thank you so much for all your hard work! Lastly from an ex-pro videographer your video production quality is top tier! (that said I hope you are taking time to rest once and a while!)
Great video. Really appreciate your openness and frank approach to what you are aiming for and achieving here. Only recently discovered your channel and enjoying the brilliant and creative content. Thanks for sharing. Wishing you all the best for the future.
Glad you kept at it! I hope that eventually this will make a fair chunk of change for you and that you will continue to enjoy it. I found you on TikTok with your zine idea and I was like hey thats pretty neat and i like his color and styles. Then I learned Fresco from you (i should say I am still learning) Keep going!
I really liked your Fresco vid. Searching for Fresco tutorials is how I discovered you. There still doesn’t seem to be many vids on Fresco from artists.
Thanks for letting me know! I think Fresco had a lackluster launch and now that it’s amazing, not enough people know. Also Adobe hasn’t been great about communicating that it’s only a once per year payment of $10 and the free version does nearly everything a beginner would need.
this is such an interesting video! i am an illustrator (im in my 30s) with ADHD myself thinking about starting something similar and its so awesome to see you being a step ahead and sharing your experience ! thank you
Hiya Chris. I started following you on UA-cam when you launched. I have been a fan and following you on IG for years. I'm so stoked your channel has been gaining momentum. I really REALLY dig your vids. They strike so true for me in so many ways. As a creative with health challenges and ADHD, your vids have helped me get through a rough day, or two.... ok, weeks. Thank you for the genuine shares and posts. The "Because Internet" was an amazing referral!! As an old internet person (GO UO!!! Ultima Online), it has been a challenge at times communicating via message with some consumers. That book really was an eye opener..... like, really. A lot of ah-ha moments.
Found you on UA-cam and then followed on IG. One of the best iPad illustration focused channels I’ve seen. I travel a lot and have made it a point to go through your videos when I fly. I think I’ve seen them all now! And I look forward to new ones coming out. Appreciate the transparency and willingness to smash the UA-cam gatekeeping. Well done!

When I get set on an idea that could be fun or interesting it suddenly becomes a thing I now "have" to do and I'm going to enjoy every minute of it. ADHD impulses or not we're all better off for having you here and I appreciate your content... As an ADHD graphic designer with a love of punk culture and someone who has been flirting with illustration... I found your Abobe Fresco videos while debating Fresco over procreate since I do most of my work out of illustrator and photoshop anyway. I was immediately hooked lol.

If I see some creator on UA-cam whose art I like (like yours), there is a strong chance I will follow them on Instagram. I generally don’t assume most Instagram creatives have a UA-cam, Behance or other video outlet. But I’m becoming more convinced UA-cam is the main vehicle for most creators to expand their following across their other platforms. It’s like ‘paratext’ for TV shows or movies where people will dive deep into other media for more related content. UA-cam is most likely the best ‘in’ or ‘mouth of the funnel’ for growing an audience so long as the video content is compelling.
I don't think that I've ever commented on a UA-cam video. You have compelled me! Thanks for your videos, I'm glad to part of your community. I had never seen your work before discovering your UA-cam channel. You asked, that's my answer...
To be clear, it was your video about switching from Procreate to Fresco that hooked me. I have used Procreate since 2016, when I got the first iPad Pro. Fresco has indeed come a long way, thanks for inspiring me to give it another chance.
Great video. I love your channel. I’m about to embark on a basement buildout. My basement is raw, so curious if yours was and if you’ll share how much you spent on your office?
Thanks so much! I'm not exactly sure how much it cost, but I'd say it was around $10k-but I did have to install a sump pump and replace windows. My basement was raw-you can see some of it in this video: ua-cam.com/video/Z3dh43m-8KI/v-deo.html
I just discovered your videos a year after making this… and not through Instagram. Love your work! Keep it up. Would love to see a financial update now that your subscriber base is up to 69K (as of the time of this posting). WAIT. Nevermind. I just found it. You rock.
Hi Chris, I certainly knew you from Instagram, it was easy to get you a follow over here, because I do really like your illustration and lettering style. Here in YT I’ve discovered your sense of humor and it is a nice bonus. Keep it up! 👍🏼
Thanks for the shout out! I happened across you from the algorithm pointing. I had watched videos on Procreate so I was thrown the Procreate Vs. Fresco video. I was reluctant to switch but you sold me on the animation layers. Thanks for sharing your behind the scenes adventure. Congratulations on the 10k! Way to find the hoops and then jump through them. I’m still hunting them and tripping miserably. 😂 jk. I’m more of a rebel and try to make my own hoops off the beaten path apparently. 😊😅
Of course! Thanks for the feedback on how you found me! I get the rebel nature, I’m usually like that, and am to some extent on here. I have been trying to do things to help the channel grow, but I ignore a lot of things that would really help… like more topical or tending topics.
Your content has been so inspiring. I found you on IG but I am subscribe on UA-cam. Unfortunately I only see your new videos on IG. My question is when I click on the new video while in IG, it plays in IG and not automatically opening in the YT app does that effect your views on YT? I have to remind my brain to click on the open app button. I hope I can do the contest that sounds fun! This video is great I always wanted to know how it actually works to be a content creator!
Thanks so much! It’s really annoying how the link on IG doesn’t open the app. I tried to fix that in the past, but it’s actually fairly complicated requiring a paid app to generate links that can launch the YT app. It shouldn’t effect my views, just likely won’t let you like or comment without signing in.
your videos are so pleasant to watch at 2x speed!!😃👏 but when you reach 50k, i feel like you *should do an update* on this video. you’ve grown *soooooooo* much! and i *appreciate* it sooo much that you didn’t outsource editing, because your videos are so *unique* and HILARIOUS!! have a nice day !
Here thanks to UA-cam! So grateful for all of your tips - I did an entire commission project in Adobe Fresco last month thanks to you! 😊 And I really appreciate this video as I'm a new, baby UA-cam channel and recently reached my halfway point to getting monetized. Who knows what the future holds, but this video is helpful for setting realistic expectations. Thank you for your transparency!
I just discovered your channel through UA-cam because I was searching for Adobe Fresco content. With the numbers you are giving that’s a pretty good growth rate for such a new channel. I think Fresco is getting pretty close to Procreate. Only a few features missing like naming layers you can see next to layers. I think as Fresco gets more popular with its constant updates your channel should grow with it. Keep up the awesome work.
1) I am SO HAPPY for you Chris! You’re channel is truly one of my faves, and B) I am a bit jealous. I too have done a lot to update my gear blah blah blah but still (sad trombone), nope, no dice, and III)This is really really inspiring! Keep it up! Woot!
Just found out about your channel today and already watched a bunch of videos....I gotta say your personality and sense of humor are magnetic, you have a new subscriber! Wish you lots of success here!
Way to go Chris! I am super proud of and inspired by your growth! I have loved seeing the progress of you and this channel. Keep moving forward brother!
Attempting to get the engine going for a new channel is definitely hard. I agree with you so much on this. I am want to get my channel going, but one of the main plugs in that system is time. Not only from the perspective of the time to put into the work... to put into making a video, but the time to do it too. It's a lot for one person: And that's just UA-cam! Artist shoulder a lot of work that is rarely considered a part of the craft. *_Chris, I love your stuff. I'm proud to support your efforts as what little I can give._*
Thanks so much Braxton, I really appreciate your support. Time is such a hassle, lol. I’m realizing I really need to do something to streamline the process. I think I need to get editing help, it’s just hard to justify the expense when the money the channel brings in is very low in relation to the time and effort I put in. It is rewarding in other ways though! Those ways just aren’t the best at paying the bills, lol.
Sorry for the slow reply! How much Skillshare pays depends on the amount of watch time/students your class(es) get. I’ve had good results with it so far.
I found your channel, then followed on insta. It was the video you made about your journey to becoming an illustrator that inspired me to learn graphic design. I now have 2 clients and I love it. Unfortunately, I can’t draw to save my life, but it’s nice to find a medium to express my creative side. It’s hard work, my healthcare job has me working over 50hr weeks but I find time everyday to create something and learn more. Thanks!
I found you here on UA-cam because of your Compare procreate vs. fresco video. I only look at youtube. I don't bother with patreon, Instagram, etc. There is just too many to keep up with, so I don't bother. I started a youtube channel to promote my upcoming graphic memoir of how I used my health and fitness knowledge to stop my mother with mild dementia from forgetting me, and it worked. I'm trying to figure out how to publish it now, but I've learned that publishing is such a racket for us new authors where everyone gets more than me. ugggh. I'm getting views, but not subscribers, so it's frustrating. Can I ask how much youtube is paying you now with 10K subscribers?
Thanks! I can imagine navigating the world of publishing is tricky. This video is actually about how much UA-cam is paying me with 10k subscribers. If you don’t want to watch the whole thing there’s time stamps in the description so you can skip to what you’re looking for.
Chris, Thank you for being transparent about your process and YT revenue. This video makes me want to start my channel back up. But im not sure what to create. I am a product designer that likes to draw not sure people would watch. But I think I will give it another go!
@@mrzachblk I’m here for it! You have valuable knowledge that can help make better consumers as well as artists learn that the stuff is not by 🪄 magic 🧙♀️ (see what I did there Chris?) it all takes choices, practice and time.
I found you on youtube. Later I went on instagram. I do not hide, you are a good motivation for action. I have a problem with this, a lot of things at the same time I would like to do, is it ADHD? 🫣

Ah cool, thanks for sharing! That video seemed to bring in a lot of people.
your videos are so pleasant to watch at 2x speed!!😃👏 but when you reach 50k, i feel like you *should do an update* on this video. you’ve grown *soooooooo* much! and i *appreciate* it sooo much that you didn’t outsource editing, because your videos are so *unique* and HILARIOUS!! have a nice day !
Thank you so much!!
Thank you for the video! How many short and long video views per month do you need to get together to earn $100? ( I live in the USA)🎉
Thanks! There’s too many variables to say, sone videos do better than others. I post twice a week and shorts intermittently.
I found you here from your new office video.
Oh cool!
Here thanks to UA-cam! So grateful for all of your tips - I did an entire commission project in Adobe Fresco last month thanks to you! 😊
And I really appreciate this video as I'm a new, baby UA-cam channel and recently reached my halfway point to getting monetized. Who knows what the future holds, but this video is helpful for setting realistic expectations. Thank you for your transparency!
Oh cool, thanks so much! Congrats on getting halfway! It seems like it starts to go faster after that.
Well done. I believe in you 🇦🇺❤️
Thank you ☺️☺️☺️
I just discovered your channel through UA-cam because I was searching for Adobe Fresco content.
Thanks! I didn't initially plan to be so Fresco heavy content wise, but it's what I mainly work in-so I guess it makes sense.
Found you through UA-cam!
Cool!
1) I am SO HAPPY for you Chris! You’re channel is truly one of my faves, and B) I am a bit jealous. I too have done a lot to update my gear blah blah blah but still (sad trombone), nope, no dice, and III)This is really really inspiring! Keep it up! Woot!
Thank you so much ☺️☺️☺️☺️
Hi, thanks. Just started with your Chanel love it🎉 I don’t use Instagram at all, maybe I should just don’t have the time for one more thing😅
Thanks! Regarding, one more thing, I totally get it!
Just found out about your channel today and already watched a bunch of videos....I gotta say your personality and sense of humor are magnetic, you have a new subscriber! Wish you lots of success here!
Thanks so much!
I saw you on UA-cam
Thanks for letting me know!
Way to go Chris! I am super proud of and inspired by your growth! I have loved seeing the progress of you and this channel. Keep moving forward brother!
Thanks so much Weston!
Thanks!
Thanks so much!
Thanks!
Thank you!
✨🤸⭐⭐⭐
Haha thank you!
Thank you for everything you’re doing! It’s been a big help to me and I appreciate it very much!
That’s so nice to hear!
Just curious, how much does SS pay and how competitive is it to get a course on there?
Sorry for the slow reply! How much Skillshare pays depends on the amount of watch time/students your class(es) get. I’ve had good results with it so far.
I found your channel, then followed on insta. It was the video you made about your journey to becoming an illustrator that inspired me to learn graphic design. I now have 2 clients and I love it. Unfortunately, I can’t draw to save my life, but it’s nice to find a medium to express my creative side. It’s hard work, my healthcare job has me working over 50hr weeks but I find time everyday to create something and learn more. Thanks!
Thanks so much for sharing Molly! That’s amazing you already have 2 clients!!
Hi, if you don't mind me asking, I would like to know where did learn graphic design and how long did it take? Thank you!
Great to hear it's going well Chris. Keep going dude!
Thank you!
@@chris-piascik ok, I did watch your entire video, but I must have spaced for that part.
Hah no worries!
Congrats on 10k!! You worked hard
Thank you! I definitely am working harder on this channel than I anticipated!
I found you here not on IG, and followed you after watching 1 vid.
Oh cool, thanks for sharing!
Chris, Thank you for being transparent about your process and YT revenue. This video makes me want to start my channel back up. But im not sure what to create. I am a product designer that likes to draw not sure people would watch. But I think I will give it another go!
I would watch and show h.s. Students how you choose color schemes, design packaging, influence with logic, font and logo. Do it!
Agreed!
Yeah! Go for it!!
@@SuzetteMorrow Thank you!! Great idea!!!!❤️❤️❤️🙏🏿🙏🏿🙏🏿
@@mrzachblk I’m here for it! You have valuable knowledge that can help make better consumers as well as artists learn that the stuff is not by 🪄 magic 🧙♀️ (see what I did there Chris?) it all takes choices, practice and time.
😎
Found you on UA-cam, then also began following on IG ! 😊
Oh nice, thank you!
I found you on youtube
Oh cool, thanks for letting me know!
I found you on UA-cam a couple of weeks ago while searching for Fresco tuts. Subscribec because you're great!! I also follow on IG.
Thank you!!!
Oh my gosh!!! I didn't know you did names for supporters! 🫨 You did mine So cool!
Yep! It’s a super supporter and up perk!
I found you on youtube. Later I went on instagram. I do not hide, you are a good motivation for action. I have a problem with this, a lot of things at the same time I would like to do, is it ADHD? 🫣
Hey thanks! I’m not sure, but it could be?
