- In today's video, I'm sharing an unfinished basement deep clean with me. My basement doesn't have a lot of stuff in it but it's loaded with tons of dust, bugs and debris. I'm finally tackling the basement and giving it a very thorough deep clean it deserves.

I feel so accomplished! The basement is an area that is out of sight and out of mind. It's doesn't get the regular cleaning routine as other areas around my house. Let me know in the comments, do you have an area of your house you have been putting off cleaning?

@@snoopysrc it is a Dirt Devil Featherlite. It has held up pretty good after all these years. I totally forgot it had a light until watching back the video. The light is a nice touch.

@@snoopysrc I wish I could say that about the Dirt Devil....but the filter needs to be replaced.

Michelle - you mentioned that you are considering painting the floor to keep the dust level down. If your main goal is to eliminate the concrete dust and you don't really care whether or not the floor is painted, I recommend using a clear concrete sealer. I used that in a new home that I moved into and it held up well for the 23 years that I lived there. No dust at all. I wish I had used the sealer in my garage as well because I often had to sweep up concrete dust from the garage.
Great reminder to clean the basement during these cold months. The shopvac is a handy tool and you've motivated me to turn my basement into a usable space!
You are right, it's great to get these areas cleaned when we are stuck inside. I loved using the shop vac, it can handle vacuuming large debris lingering in my basement.
Cleaning is one the best things to do, I love how much work is put into cleaning I would feel so proud afterwards.

I need a different type of vacuum cleaner.
For dust, I will be trying my air purifier combined with a big fan overnight or more. I have so much dust in my new basement so I think this will help.
Also will take my leaf blower to agitate anything else.

I'm glad to help. The foam glass cleaner is great especially inside car windshields, it doesn't drip down on to the dashboard.
Basement is a place we all for get about lol.I wish I could let go of some of the things I have it my basement.I thing just as I give it away I’m going to need it again .

The builder installed the installation in the basement. It is great to have this done so if we ever finish the basement we just have to frame.

Worst mistake I made is moving to brand new home, and put lot of junk in the basement before deep cleaning it. I should have hired a pro to clean it prior. I had to Bread lot of construction dust including insulation fiber glass..

No sorry, the installation was already installed when we moved in.
Do you have a lot of spiders with what looks like to be little bugs or excrement every few feet on the bottom of the walls? I also have a ton of small little mite bugs and have no idea how to get rid of them :(
We get alot of ladybugs in the Spring and elder box bugs in the Fall. Not to many spiders. We need to seal the window frame where the bugs are getting in. I’m pretty sure that is why we get bugs in the summer in that particular area of the basement.
