Their most prog songs yet are results from Miyako-Mao collaboration. Mao is basically the unofficial sixth member and the ex-keyboardist-composer of the prog band Light Bringer.
LOVEBITES - Dystopia Symphony lyrics: Like it's an end of world Making me fall apart Pushing me to the edge of the darkness Taking my breath away, and now it taking away my emotion Why was I the one He chosen Hear me cry when I'm running away from the storm It's almost right behind me The shade of moon above, wandering high in sky Following everywhere in a silence The shower of the light melting into the sleeping deep night Lost in maze, it's all I hear now Echo in my mind from far away Wish to hold it in my heart to feel the love Sadness, madness, edginess, and sense of loss Breaking through tragedy, somewhere The is much more to see beyond I stand to face bravely God, Heavenly light Shining in deep beneath Bringing a life to crystal bloom Heavenly bless Lay me in peace with this melody Like it's an end of world Making me fall apart Pushing me to the edge of the darkness Taking my breath away, and now it taking away my emotion Why was I the one He chosen Hear me cry when I'm running away from the storm It's almost right behind me Sadness, madness, edginess, and sense of loss Breaking through tragedy, somewhere The is much more to see beyond I stand to face bravely God, Heavenly light Shining in deep beneath Bringing a life to crystal bloom Heavenly bless Lay me in peace with this melody Heavenly light Shining in deep beneath Bringing a life to crystal bloom Heavenly bless Lay me in peace with this melody ----- lyrics: asami music: miyako arrangement: LOVEBITES (miho, haruna, midori, miyako, asami) & Mao
This is one song they haven't played Live yet that i really would love to see!! Asami's vocals are awesome!! 🤘🙂🎸Haruna!!! What a performance from her in this song!! 🥁✨🔥🎶
I would love to see this song live! It would be amazing, along with two others from that same EP, "Paranoia" and "No time to hesitate" Long live LOVEBITES!🤘🐺🤘 Asami❤👑
Fantastic song, one that caught me off guard when I first heard it. I know LB has the knowledge and musicality to do pretty much whatever they want, but I wasn't expecting something so proggy.
To me, I hear more ANGRA and SYMPHONY-X in this one. The solo section is definitely in the style of something Michael Romeo would do. The drumming in this song reminds me of Gene Hoglan style. This is one of my favorite Lovebites songs. It's up there with "Under The Red Sky". I love those dissonant chords in the solo. Tri-tones maybe?
Excellent comment! Angra & Symphony X are both in my top 3 favourite bands and Lovebites comes really close here. The nods to Beethoven also make me think of later Savatage (Dead Winter Dead), just 10 x faster🙂
Awesome! I keep hearing about ANGRA, so I might have to check them out. Any suggestions where I should start? I didn't think of Symphony X, but you are right. it's right up their alley!
@@GlassMoonGaming Yeah, you need to check out ANGRA. You need to listen to the entire "Temple Of Shadows" album. It's a masterpiece. All those songs should be here on UA-cam. You might even find a link to the entire album. Listen to the studio album first. Avoid the live stuff, until after you have heard the studio album.
I wouldn't say Dream Theater, but I would say Angra, not only in this song but as a band. LOVEBITES are a kind of Power/prog metal, with twin guitars, fast paced like powermetal, but with all the breaks and tempo changes that prog metal has. Besides they have a lot of inspiration in classical music, and the fact that Angra is HUGE in Japan and Kiko Loureiro is Midori's favorite guitarist speaks something. Unlucky Morpehus (another power/prog powerhouse in Japan has Angra as inspiration too).
Yes! Most reactors call them a female Dragonforce, while to me they have much more in common with Angra (who also influenced Dragonforce). Unlucky Morpheus also rules and I love their tribute to Andre Matos (ex-Angra singer).
Your references to DT and LTE are spot-on, though other prog groups have used unusual time signatures; the beginning of the 10-4 (!) section puts me in the mind of Rush's La Villa Strangiato, albeit momentarily. The specific Beethoven references I hear are the last movement (Presto agitato) of the Moonlight Sonata, Op. 27, No.2, and the slow middle movement (Adagio cantabile) of the Sonata pathétique, Op.13. Both references are slightly reworked by LB, and I'm taken by the Brian May à 3 approach in the latter. There may be other references as well that I'm not picking up on. At the beginning of the instrumental bridge there is a four-note melodic pattern (pitches e-f-d-e) stated in high, then middle, then low ranges in a sparse texture reminiscent of Beethoven's symphonic writing, including in the famous Fifth and Ninth symphonies. More interesting is that I hear this four-note pattern as a kind of leitmotif of LB's, starting with the first track off of Awakening from Abyss and appearing elsewhere. I wonder if others hear it, too, and if it's a "signature" pattern the band uses intentionally.
Miyako is a classically trained pianist. So this is right in the middle of her wheel-house. She wrote this one. Yeah, it's amazing. I want to know the BPM. It sounds pretty fast to me. Transylvania, Glory to the World, and Nameless Warrior are also fast BPM songs. I know Glory is 181-bpm. That's what it says in the song score book they recently released.
What a complex song. Imagine play this song on stage, Miyako will play piano & guitar but not same as before. She will go aggresive on piano. Can't wait to see the scenery that day. 👍👍👍😍😍🤘🤘🤘
You mean Rudess, Mangini, and Petrucci, Portnoy is no longer with the band and we mustn't forget about Myung as well. In the intro, you failed to hear the classical infusion of Beethoven. This song as well as with 3 or 4 of their other songs that are prog-metal solidifies the knowledge of who and what Lovebites is capable of among the many styles they perform in their collections of 50+ songs
Thanks for the comment! In this particular case, I WAS referring to Portnoy simply because he, Rudess, Petrucci, and yes Myung, have done it many more times and are more known for those crazy in-sync sections. When I originally made that statement, I was specifically thinking about Liquid Tension Experiment to be honest. I think I mention it again in my ASTERISM reaction (spoiler alert) where I talk about some stuff. Anyway, you are right that I missed the specific Beethoven infusion. At the end, though, I did take notice of a symphony in general, I just didn't place it where it should've been. LOL Thanks again, Sal!
Great react, add Mastermind to your playlist. Same album and pretty heavy! LOVEBITES rules! Stand corrected: Mastermind is on Clockwork Immortality I believe.
hello man, i would like to leave a suggestion of an experimental progressive metal band for you, this is Dir En Grey, one of the biggest bands in Japan, if you feel interested please check the song Macabre live tabula rasa sub eng, this is a progressive masterpiece
They said if I liked Dream Theater then I'd like this song. They were right! Let me know your thoughts. Don't forget to Like and Subscribe!
i requested this so you got my sub.
This is a song about the composer Beethoven going deaf, and has some elements of Beethoven's music in it.
That's awesome!

LOVEBITES - Dystopia Symphony lyrics:
Like it's an end of world
Making me fall apart
Pushing me to the edge of the darkness
Taking my breath away, and now it taking away my emotion
Why was I the one He chosen
Hear me cry when I'm running away from the storm
It's almost right behind me
The shade of moon above, wandering high in sky
Following everywhere in a silence
The shower of the light melting into the sleeping deep night
Lost in maze, it's all I hear now
Echo in my mind from far away
Wish to hold it in my heart to feel the love
Sadness, madness, edginess, and sense of loss
Breaking through tragedy, somewhere
The is much more to see beyond
I stand to face bravely
God, Heavenly light
Shining in deep beneath
Bringing a life to crystal bloom
Heavenly bless
Lay me in peace with this melody
Like it's an end of world
Making me fall apart
Pushing me to the edge of the darkness
Taking my breath away, and now it taking away my emotion
Why was I the one He chosen
Hear me cry when I'm running away from the storm
It's almost right behind me
Sadness, madness, edginess, and sense of loss
Breaking through tragedy, somewhere

I totally agree. I think Haruna took her drumming to a new level on this song.
Shame on me for forgetting this one....Superb!!!
Yes it is!
Miyako is a genius composer!❤ "Dystopia Symphony" ( lyrics : Asami / music : Miyako) - another diamond of LOVEBITES ! 🐺
I hope it makes into live setlist.
@@endosuleiman2335 I also really want to see the "Dystopia Symphony" in a live performance
🤘🙂🎸amazing song!!
Would be awesome for sure!
It’s one of their most prog songs yet, with clear Dream Theater nods and influences and I hope, a sign for some of their future direction.
The last two albuns had sign to that direction with songs loke Today is the day, Frozen Serenade, Dystopia Symphony and a bunch more.
Yeah! Definite prog sounds in a lot of what I've heard so far!
To me this is the best band in the world right now!
They sure are up there!
They are certainly my favorite too!
Totally agree with you on this my friend 👍 🤘🤘🤘🤘🤘🤘🤘🐺🐺🐺🐺🐺🐺
Becoming 'legend'..
Not one of their more popular song but in my top 5 great reaction
The most popular of the last album i assume.

Also Beethoven! They use short excerpts from his piano sonata #27, 3rd movement.
