Hi thanks for the great video. I have the same issue with coolant leaking where that pon is. Do you think its the hose only? Or do i need to replace that pon or couplin too?
So the piece you connected the hose into what is that? I’m trying to fix that issue with the 2016 Chevy sonic but I can’t seem to get the overflow hose connected into that piece.
My coolant system was already mostly drained due to a leak. I had to replace another part at the same time I replaced this hose. So I'm not 100% certain you need to drain all the coolant. Since this is on the top part of the system, and if the coolant level in the reservoir is below where the hose connects, you may not need to.
Whats up with the notch/plastic ring around the hose? The part just before the connector piece/plug. Is it just for strength and something to grip when changing the hose? Im thinking about replacing this hose with some sort of clear tubing. Im thinking clea vinyl tubing, ive heard people say its not string enough in hot conditions, yet ive seen it done. And the tube im looking at says its good for over 150psi, my system is only 20psi. In my reading i cant find any corrosion issue with vynil tubing and any coolant ingredients. Worst case scenario the tube gets hot, blows off one end, and makes a huge mess right? Idk man im just some goof, lemme know what you think about all this and please get back to me about that plastic ring on the hose. Is it a vital component? Is it attatched to the plug/connector piece that attatches that hose to the larger one? @benreviewsit
@@RandoManFPV I'm not really sure what the purpose of that notch is. It seems like it would be to insure that the hose is installed in the correct direction, but the connection seems omnidirectional. I'm not sure if tubing will work since the one end has a unique plastic connector and clip that is connected to the tube. I'm not a trained mechanic so I can't really give reliable advice. But in this case, I think using a different type of tubing will not work as it will not have that plastic end that is designed to connect to what I think is the coolant housing.
I love quick and to the point videos. Thank you

Where can I buy the hose with the valve you connected
Link is in the description

The end that has the plastic clip on it connects to the coolant housing water outlet.
Did you have to empty all the coolant?

@benreviewsit right on, appreciate your reply brother! 🔥 💪
