It's one of my favourite groups, I like their naturality, honesty, not being perfect, accepting failures, mistakes, respecting cultures, habits, and, that everyone is a different human being, doing what ever he/she likes
This is one of the records I played at my barn party in October 1970. The barn belonged to my father and was converted into a disco once. The barn is located near the Oud-Zuilen castle. It wasn't until years later that I found out that The Les Humphries Singers were here to record this clip.
Very soulful and enthusiastic performance! Real gospel should be brought in this way, just like the Edwin Hawkins Singers 2 years earlier with “Oh Happy Day”. Probably, this German/English vocal group was inspired by that Afro-American group.
The original song is by US American Gospel Choir music group called "The Edwin Hawkins Singers" from 1968. This European group "The Les Humphries Singers" did pretty much a cover of the original song and not created their own arrangement. When it comes to the vocals... listen to the original and judge for yourself.

If everybody adopted that attitude, imagine what a better world we would have!
"being, doing what ever he/she likes'; that's the plan from the start. no choreography , let the rythum flow with each indivudell member of the group.
Geweldig!!!! These were the days😊
Oldy but goody😊
Magnifique ‼️
I wanna listen this song over and over again‼️🙏‼️🙏‼️🥰🏡

Grab a random verse / passage from the Bible, set it to a snappy tune... guaranteed hit!
The Byrds / Pete Seeger did it too...
The link for "More info on Wikipedia" doesn't work

This is very similiar to "promised land"

@@berndkruger4980 👍🙏
@@berndkruger4980 ,I think Peggy is in this clip. In the front row e.g at 0.27 second, the Asian singer on het right side ,and on her left side ?

Well that was interesting. The Asian girl had a nice voice.
Jesus is coming, look up!! ❤🎺🙏
The band members seem to have reduced from 12 to 7, and the ethnic diversity proportionally
Oh dear. This after Hawkins' version is not good.

Weirdest band EVER... But they seem happy.. :-)
