I love this movie because it goes into his character a lot more and it's dope that he does everything just for the sake of helping ppl his dialogue with the kid (I'm tired I don't know his name atm) was great and the plotwist towards the end was great
a less menacing boss but a more gruesome ending for damn sure and the relationship between him and the boy was better that the relationship he had with the girl in the first movie
The villain of the first Equalizer was Vladimir Kulich who played Buliwyf in The 13th Warrior, a charismatic and imposing figure. He reminds me of Rutger Hauer.
The first one for me is OK. I liked it a lot when I first saw it but it kind of got wiped out of my mind by the far FAR more memorable John wick which came out less then a month after. Other then the neat first fight scene and the hardware store climax it's honestly kind of unremarkable. That said I'm glad these mid budget shoot um up action films have been making a comeback the last few years.
Personally I loved this movie. I loved that they delved deeper into Robert's character, and actually there were surprisingly lots of great emotional scenes. Denzel is as genius as always.
The thing is I care more about this sequel just because felt more like the original tv show, like helping many people instead of just one kid against the russian mob. the bad guys were less interesting than the first movie, but make the lead more sympathetic with more people helping them feel better to me than the first one.
I thought both the first one and 2nd one were great. Equalizer 2 had more of a narrative on point revenge story with lots of action. I felt like this movie was darn good. I would give it an 8 or 9 out of 10.
I loved it You guys are kinda’ strict... To me this and Sicario 2 were both very worthy sequels to their predecessors. Sometimes you just gotta enjoy a freaking action movie!!
MattWagnerMovies or instead of mindlessly enjoying everything you could point out criticism in something that was pretty poor and in doing so show how it could have been better
7.5/10. This is a great movie. Honestly, the pacing after the first 20 minutes was really slow, it dragged a little, but then picks up and the 3rd act was phenomenal. That tactical shit had me in tension, Denzel is the man !. I thought at first that this was was slower than the first installment but nope, it was a mind trick, I watched the first one again after seeing the sequel and the first equalizer is slow as well, it just that we wanted to see more an more, with this movie you already knew what you were getting into. This movie is worth watching in theater, dont wait almost a year for seek g this badassery.
That’s how I felt about John wick 2, it didn’t have the same feeling as the first one. The first one he had to become wick again but he was fighting it, he wanted away with that life. The second one his house blows up and boom he’s back working again, it’s like he forgot about that blood pact in the first one. It makes the 1st movie no longer make sense because he wouldn’t have gotten out of that life anyways with that blood pact he had.
Agree.. first was way better Chapter 2 was straight milk more money from the first succes. Chapter 2 had a meh story with a BS ending.. He has no wife.. no ex puppy dog xD.. but he acts like he is desperate to live. For what ? He lives a nightmare right now (so many hunting him).. is this the joy he gets out of his life ? Killing assassins ? Lol.. I bought John Wick on Bluray.. With Chapter 2 I didnt bother
"Leftover ideas" and "scatter-brained" - excellent description - Equalizer (1) had them, and it was too predictable! Saw that *after* watching Magnificent 7 (2016) Amazingly... both "vigilante action thriller film directed by Antoine Fuqua" - I felt It was sorely missing the "feel" factor for the hero in Equalizer 2 too. So, agree with the views here!:)
There was this one part where Denzel fought some rich brutes in that hotel room; he subdues most of them but he flat-out snaps the neck of one of them. It's like why was he inconsistent with his vigilante justice? He knocks a few dudes unconscious, breaking a few of their bones, yet he kills one of these background thugs. I don't think any of those dudes were armed, just muscles. Then those side-plots were just padding. There was that old man who apparently lost his sister when he was a kid and they get reunited and I didn't remember that was a thing by the end of the movie. Lacked a lot of emotional attachment for me to give a shit about anybody. Only part I liked was Denzel telling those assassins "normally I'd give people a chance to turn themselves around, but you killed Susan and you tried to kill me so I'm just going to kill all of you." Another problem, Pedro has a wife and kids and Denzel's character is supposed to be the honest type, so is he supposed to eventually break the news that he killed Pedro in an act of vigilante justice? The kids clearly loved their dad, so I don't think they'll take the news that their dad is dead even if he was a scumbag. Of all the additional side-plots, one regarding Pedro's family would've made more sense than the painter-gangster kid or the Lyft regular customer. Something that this movie and the last was that they really forgot Denzel's character seemed to have OCD habits like timing things with his digital watch, yet he never does any of those habits again
It's funny how y'all like to cry out on movies for not having "character development" in previous reviews and yet, when this movie attempts to do that, y'all say it's "trying too hard." Make up your minds, guys!
I haven't seen the movie yet, but every one I know who has, has told me this movie lacks depth and a hardship or foil to "The Equalizer". I'm told they could have had another "character" with similar skills to Denzel's character as either the main bad guy or someone who worked for the main bad guy. He/she also could have been someone from his past, which could have lead into more of Denzel's characters backstory. But don't do the played out old vs young trope as that has been done to death in movies, instead have someone of similar age to Denzel. At least having an enemy on par with the main character would have at least added some more tension to the movie. I will have to see if I agree with them when I finally see it.
The premis of the first one, was that Denzel's character wanted to free a girl from her pimp, but going after the pimp wouldn't make a dent in the underlying problem, which is the Russian boss who controlled the network, that the pimp was a part of. This sequal, was suppose to show what happened, when he decided to go back to what he was born to do. That's where the story was needed, rather than being mindless action.
'SUSAN' SHOULD NOT HAVE BEEN 'KILLED' IN THE SECOND MOVIE!!! ('SHE' was so wonderfully 'caring' in the first movie). Susan, in the first movie, helped the audience learn much about the 'character' of McCall. Susan, in the first movie, certainly knows a lot more about McCall than the audience has learned thusfar. 'SHE' could certainly have been horribly brutalized and assaulted in the second move, but ultimately 'kidnapped' to force McCall to rescue 'her'. In the room in which Susan is brutalized, McCall would be able to mentally relive the assault of Susan, and we, the audience, would be able to see and cheer McCall when he mentally makes the decision to rescue Susan at all costs, revealing to us more of his skills at eliminating any 'enemy'. The young boy did not contribute to what we are learning about McCall. The ending fight scenes could have been much more dramatic and entertaining. The ending scene suggests that McCall is only a 'good' fighter and NOT the invincible 'equalizer' that we are learning 'he' is. The ending took too long and should have been wonderfully and creatively - 'short' as in the first movie. I must say again - 'SUSAN' SHOULD NOT HAVE BEEN KILLED IN THE SECOND MOVIE! By allowing Susan to live and be rescued at the end of the second movie, plans by Antoine Fuqua could be creatively determined to prepare for a third installment of the 'equalizer' movies in which McCall purposes with Susan and her husband to form their own 'agency' to fight against the world's enemies. In future sequels, allow the audience to become the 'hero' who vanquishes any and all 'enemies'. I will end by saying again that SUSAN SHOULD NOT HAVE BEEN KILLED IN THE SECOND MOVIE!!!
Alex really grew on me, at first he just looked mopey and I wasn’t a fan. Now he makes me laugh, has good insight, and he just fits the trio really well. I am also enjoying Delrith’s rapid fires, he has a knack for it. Other Joe could literally have his own channel and I’d sub him. Angry Joe you’re alright too bb, me love you long time (2009)
I didn't really like the plot that much simply because the original was about McCall trying to help out a young prostitute get out of a bad situation. The movie was about a bad-ass helping even things out. While Equalizer 2 was just a basic revenge plot. He took revenge for Susan, he took revenge for the woman who got raped, the only time he actually helped someone in need was saving the kidnapped girl in the beginning. Don't agree on the end fight though, if they had a shot of the brigde out there collapsing and the team trying to pull out only to find their escape route ruined, it would make sense, i personally loved that whole sequence, specially because he killed them all in different ways. Speargunned one, blew up another, mutilated one, and had an end cqc sequence for the main baddy, all with the storm raging around them, that was epic.
This is from a tv show in 1989 called the equalizer, about this man who helped people in need. Does anyone know that yes it’s an action movie joe but it’s based on the old tv show
*Spoilers below* It wasn't just Denzel who was immortal, Miles ( the kid painter ) Can apparently get shot in the leg with a sniper rifle in the upper thigh, and have it go "straight through", and yet not bleed to death, or bleed at all? and then walk around on it 5 seconds later like it didn't even happen because denzel wrapped it very lightly with a wash cloth
Pedro Pascal was the Batman villain TWO FACE. You guys watch a BATMAN movie! He solved a mystery, he's wealthy, and he's got a BAT-CAVE! Don't pretend that bookshelf wasn't a BAT-CAVE.
Spoilers Spoilers Spoilers I thought the movie was fine but had some nitpicks The guy in the car, attacks him with a knife...when he has a gun, which he tries to use later after Denzel kicks his arse. On the screen behind them, Denzel is sitting on a bench talking with someone. Is that OtherJoe? :DI know he's not duh, but the facial expression is spot on.
I give this review a 2 out of 10. yea this one did more plot building than the first. But I liked E1 for the clever/gory kills. E2 is an excuse for more clever/gory kills. For a more streamlined story, watch titanic or something.
Completely agree with this review. I liked the first movie. I straight up fell asleep twice during this movie, including during the climax fight. Kind of a boring movie. 4 out of 10 for me.
I often can agree with other joe. Good that he talks more and expresses his opinions properly :) Thanks for fixing the audio on those guys. Now they are better to understand.
I was hoping Denzel wouldn't be invincible in this movie again, that's why I love the Bourne series but there hasn't been anything like it ever since 😭
The audio on this just sounds off. Like I can see that they are just sitting in that room together but it really sounds like it was phoned in or you are listening to a talk show on the car radio.... anybody else hear it?
I almost fell asleep during the last final fight too it was so boring and I never really felt like he was killing the bad guys anymore just people doing the job and he never goes after the people who hired them? WTF
Also, I love you guys.. But does anyone else think, that The "Final Score" should be an average of all of their scores, not just Whatever Joe says? Otherwise it just makes the other guys pointless, they should all give scores, then average that, and THAT is the final score
To the people bitching about Joe talking too much or shutting others down. I have seen all his movie reviews and spoiler discussions from when he started doing them. He was excited in the start yes, and did do some mistakes in my opinion. However he has been getting A LOT BETTER! So it is time to stop this shittalk.
When wearing a lapel mic, run it up your shirt and clip it on your collar, it looks "dirty" to have the mic wire out like that. love your vids other wise
I might have given it 6. The movie felt like a commercial for Viagra, and a retirement home, complete with images of old folks murdering young whippersnappers. What killed was all the sitting down, and having conversations, and shit. Honestly I think this movie might be more appealing to an older crowd.
Waiting or that Equalizer John Wick cross over.

The Equalizer never needed a sequel in my opinion.
Luke Benson IKR!!
well with Hollywood if a movie is successful then it automatically needs a sequel that's usually never better than the first.
It was never deserving of one. It was pretty shit.
fcukugimmeausername it was boring at times
IT is basically (Black) John wick.
The villain of the first Equalizer was Vladimir Kulich who played Buliwyf in The 13th Warrior, a charismatic and imposing figure. He reminds me of Rutger Hauer.

Remember this movie, remember the action scenes, remember the character, remember Denzel Washington
Agreed. Loved the movie
I loved this movie too.. it was balanced
The Truth It was less action packed than the first one, but it still was pretty good
The Truth its called an opinion dude i personally liked it

Honestly, Robert McCall makes me want to be a more positive person. His attitude toward life makes me want to be a better person in every way I can.

I hope you do a reaction to the clone wars trailer
I wonder if he has even seen the TV show (I really hope so).
I think the animated star wars fans is what separates the two generations of star wars fans.
It's a kilogram action film. But it has Denzel. And not every film has Denzel.

i didn’t think this movie was trying hard at all. this movie was way better then the first it had a much better story imo
It's funny how y'all like to cry out on movies for not having "character development" in previous reviews and yet, when this movie attempts to do that, y'all say it's "trying too hard." Make up your minds, guys!
Joe you need to see uncharted fan movie. Its amazing.
Hell yeah
It is not...
holy shit i didnt know about that does the bar have to be lowered since its fanmade or is it actually good?
When Joe says trying too hard, trying too hard means trying to be too many thing.
Did the guy on the left hate this one too? Like always?
Turbid TG1 honestly, he actually had pretty good input. He was reasonable to it despite the majorities opinion.
I actually randomly watch this today so I can actually watch the spoilers for once 😆
Do a reaction to the upcoming Dragon Ball Super Broly movie!!!
Gay
Super Console Gamer fuck off
Why are you people so...toxic....
That's... That's 5-6 months away...
How about Godzilla 2?
I'm surprised you still haven't done a reaction/review of the recent Death Of Superman animated movie
Maybe you yawned because you were tired!!!
addidaswguy I fell asleep for 20 mins and didn’t miss anything and that’s the first I slept in a movie theater 😂
Alex drinking in this movie review too lol. We need another Drunk Angry Review
Denzel whyyyyy? The Steven Seagal superman thing was played out 20 years ago.
Yes!!! The youtube commercial before this was "GLASS"....What do you guys think, Is M. Night Back???
I haven't seen the movie yet, but every one I know who has, has told me this movie lacks depth and a hardship or foil to "The Equalizer".
I'm told they could have had another "character" with similar skills to Denzel's character as either the main bad guy or someone who worked for the main bad guy.

Random Angry Movie Review playthrough Day 2 review 20 13/07/19 yall are the best, thanks for your content AJ
I dug the original, and look forward to seeing this, eventually.

I am also enjoying Delrith’s rapid fires, he has a knack for it. Other Joe could literally have his own channel and I’d sub him. Angry Joe you’re alright too bb, me love you long time (2009)
You gonna watch the trailer for Titans?
Ah man, Other Joe!!!? You were always great to listen to for reviews, but now your turning into a legit credit who craps on everything!!
This is why Denzel don't do sequels
Are they gonna do a video on the new Clone Wars or (teen) Titans?
New Godzilla trailer is out!!!!
This is from a tv show in 1989 called the equalizer, about this man who helped people in need. Does anyone know that yes it’s an action movie joe but it’s based on the old tv show
*Spoilers below*

I thought the movie was fine but had some nitpicks
The guy in the car, attacks him with a knife...when he has a gun, which he tries to use later after Denzel kicks his arse. Maybe that guy should have started with the gun?
Later Denzel and his buddy are in a building with a shotgun when two baddies come in.... why not take out those baddies then? At the end there's a building with an obvious sniper nest....if Denzel goes there he could kill the guys when they got out of the car, but OK maybe he doesn't have the gun or he really really wanted to be stabby, but why not hide in that building and kill the guy going up to the top first? Also why does the hurricane affect the guy at the top least?......and was he actually knocked over by the hurricane at that convenient moment or did Denzel do something? My uncle asked me, I couldn't answer. Also was the guy that got stabbed 10 times and have his throat slit really still alive, or could the actor not do "dead"? Is flour really that flameable? I mean maybe it is. I think that does it with the questions.... except … did Denzel paint that at the end or did the kid?
Still it was fine, didn't like the one persons death but I guess its the only way to get the plot going. It was fine,
Haven't seen equalizer 2 yet, but from the trailer it felt like they were editing it to look like a new version of john wick.
Where's The Aquaman Reaction
i really like that angry joe loves movies and he dosent act like a critic and just say what he like/dislike about the movie. Alex is a neggo but honest and OJ is just awesome as usual! Much love from Sweden!
Slow burn it was, plus the boss battle, both had a dry face when a freaking rain storm over they’re heads!
For a more streamlined story, watch titanic or something.
love how joe wears the headset but its not working!!!!

Comic con movie trailer reations ? Theres for sure 5 joes doing
I really enjoyed this movie, denzel washington is still the man.
love it when the youtube preview spoils the final verdict for me
Completely agree with this review. I liked the first movie. I straight up fell asleep twice during this movie, including during the climax fight. Kind of a boring movie. 4 out of 10 for me.
Im always curious how many comments there will be when a video is only up for 5 minutes. Like ''who actually watched first?'' :P
Theres always that group of people that wanna be ''FIRST''
When hovering over the video on youtube, it shows a short clip of the final verdict lol.
I often can agree with other joe.
Good that he talks more and expresses his opinions properly :)
Thanks for fixing the audio on those guys. Now they are better to understand.
I was hoping Denzel wouldn't be invincible in this movie again, that's why I love the Bourne series but there hasn't been anything like it ever since 😭

Why is Joe wearing a headset with a mic but could be heard no different than the rest of the them despite them having some distance between them?
Badass movie.
Sooo was Denzels character first a Marine and then a CIA agent?
It's MORETZ not Moretez. 😂😂😂
Star Wars the Clone Wars is coming back folks, i can't fucking wait. Such an epic cartoon!!
Can't take any of these reviews seriously any more, dude on the left couldn't enjoy a fucking SINGLE thing if he tried. Must be great fun at parties.
A good example of a movie trying too hard is "Skyscraper". It should have been a funny, tongue in cheek movie but instead it took itself seriously.
Hey, when did you get the mics?
When wearing a lapel mic, run it up your shirt and clip it on your collar, it looks "dirty" to have the mic wire out like that. love your vids other wise
Don't expect a Uber driver to kill some assassins.
The fans cheering in the audio background was confusing and maddening.
There better be a post credits scene I am seeing it tonight
I might have given it 6. The movie felt like a commercial for Viagra, and a retirement home, complete with images of old folks murdering young whippersnappers. What killed was all the sitting down, and having conversations, and shit. Honestly I think this movie might be more appealing to an older crowd.
Hey Joe, will you be doing a re review for No Man's Sky? It's looking pretty damn cool now
Equalizer, more like the Substractor. Which isnt worse than the Divider, but... :D
This is what happens when EVERY. SINGLE. MOVIE keeps getting sequels now....
