Look at the dancer in the front, they focused on her in the first few seconds. Tell me she doesn't look like a queen, like Cleopatra? YOU GO GIRL They are all beautiful & talented. I'm 58 & in the southern USA BUT If I could go back in time, I would live my life all over in Hawaii !! That dancing is far from easy to perform, such beauty l, grace & dedication! Although I'm a 58-year-old Irish (I wouldn't fit it & I have 2 left feet I would give anything to be one of these dancers they're a true definition of beauty, grace & tradition. I know their parents are proud of them for living breathing & keeping this art alive for generations to come.

My daughter danced from the age of four on. The yelling is all the other girls encouraging the stage performers. Distracting for sure but you get used to it.

they are Tahitan/Pasifica log drums called TOERES, they're made from either Red Ironbark wood or mahogany.
They, the dancers: Very good job. But the girls shouting, So unable of UNDERSTAND the silence required in order to APPRECIATE the music and the dance. VERY BAD AUDIENCE (PUBLIC). What a shame.
It's part of the tradition at Heiva... We're cheering for the dancers.
