"Apparently it's developmentally appropriate to take 30 minutes naps!" - I felt that in my BONES, I said the exact same thing (with the exact same tone 😂) when my son was that age! I'm always reminding myself of what's developmentally appropriate so that I have realistic expectations for him and myself.

      @AmandaStapley Рік тому +2

This is practically the catch phrase with anything we would ask the pediatrician about. So much so that when we get wondering we just say to each other we bet it's developmentally appropriate, lol.

3 months into “3 under 2” ( super busy toddler and newborn twins). Struggling is an understatement! In a workd filled with “influencers” with their perfect makeup and home- really needed honest content like this of “you can love this phase and and it can suck at the same time!”
Thank u for keeping it real ❤

I feel you on the 30 minute nap issue! My girl only took 30 minute naps, no matter what I did. It did turn a corner at 6 months, and now at 8 months she’s taking 2, 1.5 hour naps. There is hope lol

I love how HONEST you are. Man, the newborn phase is not fun and I feel like it’s taboo to talk about, at least with the women I’m surrounded by. So thanks for being real. I did not enjoy that phase as much as I would’ve liked (also had postpartum anxiety) and it’s nice to hear someone else acknowledge those challenges.

Oh I know. I watched a million UA-cam videos on baby sleeping/naps telling me if I just did one thing it would change my daughter's sleep habits...I would follow religiously and she would wake up at the 19 minute mark. She would cry, and I would cry...lol. After six months of 19 minutes naps and 4-5 wakes at night, my brain broke. Dont miss those days, so glad to be on the other side of that. Good Luck!

My sleep consultant was always like aim for 1hr15 min naps! But our kid naps like 40-45 minutes everytime. Life was so much less stressful when I just accepted that some babies are just short nappers and to follow sleep cues rather than metrics..

I know this is a little older now but I fell you guys on the naps and the tongue tie. My daughter (now 14 mos) had awful tongue and lip tue with so many feeding issues, it was so traumatizing and still difficult to think about. My girl has always been a great sleeper and napper AT HoME but she goes to day care and has serious FOMO while there and has been a horrible napper there. So we would get an angry cranky baby. Her teachers would tell us how wonderful she was and I went through a period of serious sadness and guilt for having to leave her at day care and not being able to get to know this happy, amazing girl! That sucked. Thankfully we were on vacation last month and had a whole week of a very good routine and had her well rested and we got to see what they were talking about. Because we jad gotten her on a great schedule for that week, she also started sleeping better at fay care. Although the FOMO still rears its head at times.

Same boat except just one 5 months old baby.... taking the developmentally appropriate 30 min naps... unless we swing him and extend his naps...he does sleep really well at night though...and sleep training went really easy for us....nap training still seems like a distant dream ... otherwise he's an adorable baby... smiling... making tons of sounds... rolling over at 4 months...and trying to crawl now... overall he's a happy baby... it's rewarding now that he's interacting so much...but ohh boy we struggled in the newborn phase...

Please know that you have been an essential resource for me in preparing for my birth and baby. She's here now and during the day, she's also only napping 20-40 minutes at a time at three months old. I did read that it takes babies a few months to consolidate their sleep cycle, but it's very reassuring to hear you struggling with the same issue, since none of my mom friends have a baby with similar sleep patterns. My son is almost 11 months and hates napping, doesn’t do much more than 30 min usually. Sleeping at night varies but generally he does well. So I’ll take night sleeping more than naps during the day right now.

No need to explain yoir absence!!!! I actually thought you guys were CHAMPS doing updates with Cecilia. I'm into month 13 with just one and have had to put so many things on hold. I know whenever you're ready you'll come back with so much first-hand knowledge to share with us.

4-5 months for us was hell for naps. Reading the free material from TCB helped a lot. Naps did begin to lengthen toward the 6 month mark and it is SO MUCH BETTER. ❤

I’m so glad you guys put this video out. We’re wanting to add a 2nd child to our family.. and with the first, already a challenge. But I’m so glad to see this and some of the struggle so we can be a little prepared with one toddler and a baby… I hope you guys do some videos of the transition and your experiences with how Cece interacts with her brother, good AND bad lol. Thank you so much for your videos!! They really have helped me through the first one and I’m sure the next one, God willing. Love you guys!

Thank you for keeping it real! So many things you’ve said just made me feel better. My daughter had tongue tie as well and it was rough. Planning for a second child and feeling intimidated by it. Looking forward to more videos! It had helped me tremendously.

Our 6th baby turned 2 on June 5th and our 7th will be 5months on the 11th. she seems to cry all the time too :( in the beginning i figured it was just b/c the older kids kept bringing sicknesses home (first Winter baby) then i was curious if she had reflux.
i know it's tough now, but they are soooo precious to watch and enjoy them getting along as they get older.

I just had my second boy on May 1st…my oldest is 5 and I think it’s rough too!! He’s even been going to summer school since he’s starting kindergarten in August. IT. HAS. BEEN. A. CHALLENGE!! Our first son was an ANGEL!! So easy for everything!! Easy toddler and child, too. This little guy is so so tough. Like SO tough. Also only cries ALL of the time.
In a way your torture brought me comfort lol. Knowing all of what’s happening here currently is not just an us thing. 😂😂
Hopefully this will blow over soon. 😂😅

Good to have you guys back! Definitely feel you on the struggle bus of having two under two. It definitely gets better after the 6 month mark. And it’s so cool that your husband went into Peds cardiology. My 16 month old daughter has ASD but her hole is so small that the doctors are hoping the hole closes by itself or else they’ll have to do heart surgery on her. We’re hoping it closes by itself too. Praying for the best and hope you guys are well!
