The road is mostly good. Only after you cross Mandla, there are some patches of under construction road at the ghat section, may be around 4-5 kms. The status has been the same for the last 2years I guess. Then, before entering Jabalpur, the Jabalpur bypass road is being upgraded at stretches to 4 lane. So, you might see some under construction patches there.
Approximately 8-9hrs lag jata hain.. road via Simga up to Chiphi is very nice. After Chiphi, as you enter MP, there are some potholes on the highway, but nothing too bad. Near Jabalpur, after you cross Mandla, there are some under construction stretches. Kaam bandh pada hain, aisa lagta hain.. parts of Jabalpur bypass is being upgraded to 4lane.
The road conditions have remained same in the last 3-4 yrs. After Zilhari ghat, the road is partly under construction. But four laning is at full pace near Jabalpur. The Jabalpur exit towards Mandla is being constructed right now. Rest road is good. Roads are in general buttery smooth in the CG side. And tarmac becomes rough with potholes as you cross MP-CG border.
