13:30 - hmmmm, Hebrews 8:13 - "In that He says, “ A new covenant,” He has made the first obsolete. Now what is becoming obsolete and growing old is ready to vanish away."
The levitical laws, to this day, points us to Jesus, however they are not commands of the New Testament.

Right the only Law that still stand is the Law of Christ. I like how Paul sums it up when he says whoever knows the right thing to do but does it not to him it is sin. 2 Timothy 3 16 tells us scripture is profitable for training in righteousness that the man God may be complete and equipped for every good work. I feel ephesians 2 hits on this deeper where we have been saved by grace thru faith for good works that God has set up.for us to walk in.

      @@benblackburn8028 I agree. Ephesians 2 paints a deeper spiritual picture .
Moses' Laws are different from Levitical laws. We are still commissioned to love our neighbour (Moses' Law) but we don't sacrifice bulls (Levitical Law) at church. Theologians categorise the commands of Jesus/Paul into "sins of commission" and "sins of omission".
In Matt 5, known as "the sermon on the mount", Jesus raises the standards - "If anyone forces you to go one mile, go with them two miles". He also ends it with this "Therefore you are to be perfect, as your heavenly Father is perfect."

The Law is Spiritual.....so wrote the Apostle Paul.......with the exception of the Ceremonial Law (the washings and the sacrifices and the offerings et al); the Ten Commandments was the basis for showing the true spiritual relationship between God and Man, and Neighbour with Neighbour.

Consider: Preterism has a better explanation for "the last days."
The Second Coming of Jesus (The Coming ot the Son of Man) occurred in 70AD along with the destruction of the city (Jerusalem) and the temple in 70AD.

    • @armmkm

      Preterism has a better answer?
There is a duality in prophecy. That is, there is always a forerunner before the real thing. The End times of Matthew 24, Dan 2 and 7, Revelation were not fulfilled in total in AD 70.

It is one of Satan's most devilish yet successful ploys against Christians to tell them that God's Holy Ten Commandments Law is not applicable to them because they are written in the Old Testament.
Jesus did not teach this, neither did His disciples. He taught the opposite! It is written regarding when He taught the two men on the road to Emmaus, Beginning at Moses and all of the prophets He expounded unto them in all the Scriptures the things concerning Himself. (Luke 24:27) Also, we read:
All Scripture is given by inspiration of God and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness:
That the man (woman) of God may be perfect, throughly furnished unto all good works. 2Timothy 3:16, 17
Why would anyone rejoice and feel eager to disobey God's holy law if they truly love Him? Think about it!
John 14:15 If ye love me, keep my Commandments. [Jesus]

Are you familiar with the new covenant? Or Jesus's commandments? That would explain your misunderstanding the scripture

Are you Jewish? That would explain why you think the way you do. That's what Jewish people believe. If this is what you believe you missed the entire point of the gospel.

Hi Sis. Donna, I am a Christian whose calling as a Protestant is to restore the biblical truths of Scripture. Remember The great Protestant leader Martin Luther who gave us the Protestan mantra: sola Scriptura? Scripture only. Well in today's Christianity there are many things being taught that are blatant errors--things that are traditions, even heresies handed down from generation to generation. Jesus dealt with the Jewish leaders with that. He told them: Howbeit, (but) in vain, do they worship me, teaching for doctrine the commandments of men. Mark 7:7
The Scribes did teach that Elias (Elijah) would restore all things, yet they killed him. Jesus confirmed that the Elias who would restore all things was John the Baptist his forerunner or the one who came before Him to introduce Him and prepare hearts to receive Him. (See Matthew 17:1-13) In doing this John restored all truth for what is truth? Jesus said: I am the way, THE TRUTH and the life. No man comes to the Father but by me. John 14:6
Many truths that were buried under a pile of rubbish He restored. For example, the Sabbath truth of HOW to keep it holy He restored but He did NOT alter which day was the Sabbath. He, himself kept the Sabbath and called it "my holy day". It is the Sabbath of Creation. (See Genesis 2:1-3) Jesus taught this about the law: Think NOT that I have come to destroy the law or the prophets: I am not come to destroy, but to fulfill. For verily I say unto you, Till heaven and earth pass, one jot or one tittle shall in no wise pass from the law, till all be fulfilled. Whosoever therefore shall break one of these least commandments and shall teach men so, he shall be called least in the kingdom of heaven, but whosoever shall DO and TEACH them, the same shall be called great in the kingdom of heaven. (See Matthew 5:17-19)
The verses following let us know that Jesus was referring to God's holy Ten Commandments law. Read them.
So Jesus established that His law will remain binding to be kept by humans until His return and indeed FOREVER. The new covenant was simply God's law written on/in the heart and not just on stone. God's aim was to make it much easier for them to remember His covenant with them and to keep it. In other words to live in harmony with it.
May our dear Saviour help us to live in harmony with Him as His law represents Him, who He is and what He stands for. Blessings!

@@DonnaHughes813 By her comment, I think that the lady is S.D.A.
They get the basics right but......
The Sabbath (even with Messianic Jews) is from Friday sundown to Saturday sundown.
They do not see that the Lord Jesus Himself, is the true Sabbath.
"Come unto me, all you that labour, and I will give you rest". Matt 11:28
And in Hebrews, it is written that Israel could not enter into God's rest (His 7th Day), because of unbelief.
The Law was the school master, to bring us to Christ, Who is the fulfilment of the Law.
Also worth remembering that, "the works were finished FROM the foundation of the world".
There's a lot in that one sentence! 😄

@@DonnaHughes813 I agree with you sister Donna. The requirements of the Old Covenant and the laws thereof were fulfilled in Jesus Christ and have been nailed to the Cross. There is now a New Covenant - law of Christ ( The law of the Spirit).
The Spirit works within the believer to produce good fruit- love joy, peace, patience, gentleness, goodness, faith, meekness, self control. It's not about the believer fighting to keep laws that the receivers in Moses time could not keep, but it is about God's spirit working through yielded believers to produce godly character.
It is like saying the old system of government has passed which was good for its time but is now replaced with a new system of government which is better than the old system. The old system was the shadow; the new system is the real substance.
Some elements of the old system is included in the new such as 9 of the ten commandments ( the sabbath was not part of the commandments given by Jesus in the new testament). Along with this, the sacrificial system was abolished because Jesus' bodily sacrifice was sufficient once and for all.
It's ignorance of the gospel that makes people to believe that they are still under the law of Moses when indeed we are under the law of the spirit of life in Christ Jesus. Hebrews 7 :12 -For when the priesthood is changed, the law must be changed as well. … For of the priesthood being changed, from necessity a change of Law also takes place. Jesus is the new High Priest from the Tribe of Judah. The law under the Levitical Priesthood no longer exist- the Sabbatarians and SDA need to understand the gospel and be freed from bondage.
SDA , Sabbatarians and all believers need to rightly divide the word of truth . We need to ask the father to free our minds from doctrinal biasness and to lead us to understand the truth of the message in scripture. People please read the scripture; read both old and new testament prayerfully and earnestly. Be free of bias and God's spirit will lead to the saving truth.
