I'm the only Bajan Yankee in my family who moved back to BIM to live for over 30 years. I'm in the States for school and I absolutely hate it and miss BIM, I giggle cause my Yankee relatives can't speak a lick ah bajan, they think Jamaican patios is bajan, so I does switch real quick to Bajan to shame them lmao

I’m a Yankee Bajan and I here gettin ready to leave NYC to go to BIM for school and for good lol.. Ppl does think I’m crazy for choosing to live in BIM over NYC but I just can’t bother with NYC life.. I love my country life out in St. Joseph.. Been wanting to stay in Barbados ever since but my parents say no.. I’m really over dis NYC life now..

I’m in the UK in my late fifties. My parents were wind rush Barbadian. They didn’t really have mad broad Bajan accents accents change over time as society change. Jamaican patios was dominant because of the roots reggae uk revolution. However the Bajan dialect is closely related to Irish dialect and folklore. Our African ancestors learnt English under the whip of Irish overseers who were buffers between the us Africans and the English planters. If anyone wants to know more we can form a WhatsApp group for discussion. Love from UK

Very imformative, I knew some 😂
How about chatting about childhood games like chinieskip or red light green light
Or when you would get a piece of tread and make shapes using your fingers

I definitely was raised on shark oil being I was raised by fishermen lol.. I could go for some all now.. Haven’t had any since 2018.. My daddy gave us a spoonful with a piece of orange every morning as we grow up.. And I does love me some dog dumpling after you let it ferment in a glass jar..
