True story: More than 700 soldiers from the Tennessee National Guard were sent to the Middle East on Saturday to join the Israel slaughtering civilians. Right after those same units left for conflict, their homes and communities were severely affected by catastrophic flooding leaving them with no immediate help. Gov. Kay Ivey is activating members of the Alabama National Guard to help with emergency efforts in North Carolina in the wake of Hurricane Helene.
The 13-person team consists of 11 Airmen from around the state who serve as Alabama’s Fatality Search and Recovery Team (FSRT). The team also includes a chaplain and chaplain’s assistant. Additionally, Alabama has sent three Swift Water Rescue Teams with 1 Cadaver Dog team.
