Was this one of mine lol. I've owned more than I can count of these (S,M & Large -M-cam, Coyote & RG) since 2010, still love the comfort even for the cost of a little extra weight. Medium total weight sans plates is 8lbs. This is the Gen 2, the gen one was intended to be issued to Big ARMY for one of the future soldier programs but that was a pipe dream. It was a very interesting concept none the less. They were mainly aimed towards SOCOM, Breaches, SWAT & Stationary gunners etc. I wasn't surprised to see them drop of the site after such a long life on the market for a specialty carrier. The shoulder Pads also have built in IIIA soft armor, not just the harness. It also has a plastic frame sheet to maintain rigidity of the harness. The low or high back ballistic Blast Belt also adds to the entire setup. They also offered groin & shoulder protection add on's + others. I still have a couple of them on hand but the AVS finally won me over, for now... Good vid none the less, if anyone needs help with one just ask.
I am kicking myself for not buying this when it was available. I'm fortunate to have their CPC, but what I really really wanted was the cage armor chassis. *sigh*.... Guess I'll spend a billion dollars on ebay now...
They aren't inserted since there are no side pockets. The vest's structural part is sealed except for where the front flaps come out. In order to mount plates you have to attach side plate bags.

I have one of these. Love it
Any guide how to re-assembly the cable which goes left>rigth which has black and white plastics ? I'm lost !
I've never actually undone them but the user guide from Crye has how to do it. It's on pages 7 and 8 of the Crye armor chassis manual.
@@HammerheadClassCruiser Thanks my man, will check out ! The carrier stays unusable cause for this for like half year or so. Now It’s time for action

can you do a show and tell on how the side hard plates are inserted?

You can slide 6x6" MSAP plates into the sides sir, It has built in plate pockets there, they are just hidden to the uninitiated lol
I’ve had a set of medium platebags on order with crye for like 10 months. You know any way to Fastrack 😅
Nope, unfortunately; you could always email them, their pretty good at responding.
Would you be willing to sell this?
this thing is basically a museum piece, so no
Wait they no longer make the cage? I've been wanting to get one forever.
They make a new version now
@@ZaxCal how do you know
@@nicolashezinger8785go to their website lol
@@nicolashezinger8785 because it's listed on Crye's website?
They don't make a new one; so I'm not sure which of their other products you are referring to.
Why did they stop making these?
My guess is that they ran out of prospective contracts, and there was nowhere near enough interest from the regular market for production to continue.
@@HammerheadClassCruiser Ah could be, that would make sense. Few of the common folk will spend 2k+ on a plate carrier and accessories.
