Will it clean?! Vevor 15L Ultrasonic Cleaner

- Recently acquired a Vevor 15 Liter ultrasonic cleaner to use in some future videos and wanted to test it out in a bit of an unorthodox way to cleaning a cheap Harbor Freight Paint gun. They are usually heavily greased up and require an extensive cleaning before use so that the paint does not become contaminated. I also try out a couple tools I have lying around that were in need of some love.

Ultrasonic Cleaner: Vevor 15L - P/N PS-06A
www.amazon.com...
Cleaner - Simple Green
I had some nuts and bolts to de-rust. I put them in a small glass jar filled with Evaporust, I put the jar containing bolts and evaoprust in the 2.5l HF ultrasonic cleaner filled with water. In about 20 minutes of cleaning I'd say 95% of the rust was removed.
For Rust use Rustremover from CRC Evapo Rust, much faster no need ultrasonic ..
5:38...You just reminded me of something. In the early 90s, here in Australia, Simple Green was being sold by door-to-door sales teams.
Young people should now look away...
I worked in a transport depot around that time (I was probably 25), and two girls/women came into the depot and offered to demonstrate how good the product was for cleaning trucks. So we go down to the undercover area where my truck is parked...two hot girls in skimpy, but loose shorts (
Fill it with evaporust and it'll clear ALOT more rust off!
Items can NOT touch each other in order to allow the "cavitation" to perform properly.
Vinegar with some concentrated citric acid added works very good on rusted parts and is not toxic either
Saw vids here showing to put parts in plastic bag (sealed) or glass jar, fill tank with water, jar/bag with cleaner & let jar float around with parts inside. He found it works great! Less fluid used for sure.
I found this very helpful. I'm planning to buy the 15 L model to be used primarily for motorcycle carburetors and clutch parts etc. I'm also going to clean gun parts in it. Great video thanks
I use Simple Green to remove the grime, rinse with water, then use Evaporust in another ultrasonic cleaner to remove the rust. It works great.
I use a couple of different size electrolysis tanks for paint and rust removal. It will remove everything right down to bare metal. After that you can rinse the oxidation off and then buff, use a protecting spray, or prime/paint. Each cleaning method has its advantages and disadvantages and you need to decide what you are trying to accomplish.
Bruce K. Evans - Historian Hi Bruce, Maybe you can help me. I want one for cleaning and restoring oil lamps. I absolutely need one for the burners but I am having a hard time finding one which the fonts will fit into. Up until now I have only cleaned and polished by hand and with my Dremel but I have neuromuscular problems and too much work can create more weakness. That is why I am looking for one which a font will font into. This is the only one I can find. www.amazon.com/gp/product/B078KYPYJD/ref=ox_sc_act_title_1?smid=A2RB21RUGRFV4T&psc=1 have you any suggestions? Thank you! Annie
Try it with evaporust and you’ll see just how good these cleaners are then.
I intend to when I can get back into making videos again. full time obligations to my job come first unfortunately.
Yeah the simple green is not going to take off the rest you could try some of those home DIYs in your ultrasonic like baking soda and vinegar or salt or whatever it is I forget the recipe I wish that one stuff evapo rust I'm not sure if you can dilute it but by itself works really good I can imagine it working even better in an ultrasonic
I appreciate the watch the ears comment....but probably the dropping of stuff into the machine/basket was louder than the machine in my head set...
Thank you for the video and taking the time to share
Ordered the 30 litter model.....showing up today from Amazon of course
Where i work we normally let the machine run for 1 hour and dont have half as many parts in there at a time
Thanks for letting us know how loud it is.i was worried about the noise it makes not bad
Steve small engine saloon he used a empty clean Peanut butter jar to clean small parts in the sonic cleaner all so use a strong chemical to get rustoff like CLR
Definitely need ear plugs near one, put the rock on guys!...lol
I'm a structural steel painter industrial Painting and Sandblasting. The best thing I found to put on my conventional gun is use spray Pam on it before you paint
Brilliant! Why didn't I think of that! Makes sense to "oil it up" before use for easy cleaning. Thanks for the tip!
@@jungleking007Channel
If you don't have the Pam spray
Use baby oil or wd40. Just something so paint don't stick.
That is a good idea, nice. But what about for that lazy painter who just wants to get out of the homeowners house once paid and then relax at home, thus leading to forgetting to clean out the cup gun. Trying to find a simpler solution then spraying carb cleaner and scrubbing for days before my the next job to unclog the gun and clean it up. and don"t say stop being lazy, because my recliner is sooo comfortable its not gonna happen. lol
@@tompearsall7863 put some paint thinners in it and leave it sit for a few days to soak, this will make cleaning it a bit easier
would like to know if the vevor 15L ultrasonic cleaner is still working after 4 years?
Actually haven't used it in a year or so. Work and life has taken over, and projects it was bought for are currently on hold. Been stored in my basement so should fire up fine from the last time I used it.
Would it be faster to add boiling water to the vessel, rather than allowing it to heat itself? An electric kettle only takes a few minutes to boil a few litres of water.
Still holding up?
Haven't used it in a while. Will have to bring it out soon though have an edger motor needing some decreasing. Will report back then
How did you attach the house to the drain valve, if you did?
How much fluid does it actually hold? Saw a thing where they only hold about 1/2 what they are advertised.
I would say that is true. Thier unit specs are a bit misleading. I'm usually able to fit 2 gallons of water in it is filling to the brim. That is around 7.5L. Normally don't add that much as you have to consider the displacement of whatever you are putting in the cleaner to clean.
@@jungleking007Channel thanks man. Thats crazy. My buddy got a small one a few years ago and said that he felt it was smaller then advertised. 15L is just under 4 gallons. Other then that how is it holding up? Im looking at buying this same one for $146
Haven't used it in a while, but does a decent job of cleaning. Need to set up a video with it soon testing a couple things from the comments. Hopefully I can find time to do so.
Nice man. Would like to see this with that "Rust remover" shiz running in it.
I did another video using vinegar on rusty stuff. If I have time might look for some heavier chemicals to test.
@@jungleking007Channel try evapo rust
Okay the reason I watch this video was because I was looking at these static cleaners to clean aluminum. Over the years I've use Simple Green and super clean a lot of different things. I'm more interested and using the static mixer on motorcycle carburetor aluminum. What is the best thing to clean them like new? Will any of the acid cleaners hurt the aluminum?
Acids may hurt the aluminum, but checking compatibility charts online can let you know if they will or not. I've seen guys use the heavy duty and aviation versions of Simple Green with great results. Others have put berryman's or gunk parts cleaners in these as well. Basically preference at this point.
I Would Try 3 or 4 Times & A 1 to 1 Mix
I would use 100 percent simple green to cleen paint guns man.
Does your heat control work properly or does it go way higher than the setting ??
vinegar and water should work on rust very well
Thanks! I'll have to give it a try soon. Garage is a mess at the moment working on better tool organization plus more work space, but will do a video of this next cleaning attempt once I can move around in there again!
You don't need a tool, you need to spray acetone through the gun till it runs clean
Don't expect a miracle. just something close. depending the cleaner/degreaser you use. Personally i use ZEP Brand orange citrus heavy duty cleaner 1/2 cup per 6L.
Some Of The People Do 50 / 50 With Solution to Water,& if You Squeeze the Trigger it will Open Everything Up While it's Cleaning
There's good rust remover fluids but nothing cheap, I never bought any.
I actually use my tools so they stay oily & never rusted on me in 50yrs..lmao.
I'm just wondering since you've had this does it trip your breaker? I've got the 10 liter model and I've used if for cleaning bowling balls. I haven't used it for about 3 months. And ever time I try to turn it on it trips my GFI
Mine has not tripped the breaker. Maybe there is more than one high amp draw machines in your circuit?
GFI trips can be because you have a bad ground or its grounding to a metal table, to a metal sink....
Hi I was wondering can you tell me does that Ultrasonic Cleaner the 15L does that run off 110 volt or 220 volt outlet
This one is 110v at 60hz. I'm sure there is one available somewhere that runs 220v, but we don't use that here in the US.
So this thing might serve a dual purpose...Cleaning parts....and driving rodents from garage...Sweet !
Drove me out of my garage for a bit, am I rodent?!
Use a vinegar solution if you want to remove rust.
I just bought some cleaning vinegar to try out in the ultrasonic cleaner. Curious to see the results
Simple green is a weak cleaner.
Wrong solvent for the iron parts. Try molasses water, ultra ever rust, or oxalic acid.
why clean a 10.00 paint gun? I mean i use mine like once a month if that I just buy a new one. No clean no mess toss em
Because it is still usable when cleaned even for a $10 paint gun. I'd prefer not to be a contributor to the "throwaway society." This was simply an experiment to see if the ultrasonic cleaner works and had a gun I had just used. Wanted to see what would happen.
Statistics show that people who let their tools rust also have cavities.
I guess the people that owned these before me have cavities then, I try my best to keep my tools clean!
