I'm glad my teacher is having us watch and write about this video. He looks so calm and peaceful, and so fluid.

Kind of quite simple; (caught it; comments are years ago). These Chen Tai Ji Quan Masters: Chen XiaoWang 19th Gen * Chen Bing here * Chen ZiQiang "Nephew" * Ren GuangYi * Bosco * are "not" showing ALL Tai Ji forms are "speeded up full speed & power". The slowness does "not" have the purpose nor intent, to be all calm nor peaceful nor flowery; it is to go slow, way way slow, so that the "Breath" can match the movement & in the same way, one can find their "Power in Their Breath". Only Chen Tai Ji does show "FaJing" ... Explosive Power. This is easily seen as they move slowly, then explode a movement. Inclusive, what is really not seen & causes questions of misrepresentation & misunderstanding; there is no way shape or form, that Tai Ji is "not used" as an attacking power, (what you call self-defense), for what you cannot see; when Tai Ji is developed properly, one can hit, LIKE A GORILLA! This i have as proof positive; in all my fights, they ask later: "What did you hit me with". Oh, they asked this as they were still moaning; sorry to say, well not really; some were even crying ...

    Very good actually!
However if Master Chen research how the difference will make by using Kwa to trig muscles instead using muscles on shoulder and thighs, he will promote himself to higher level!!!

SOoooooo many years ago; what i say probably goes nowhere; my experiences with my 3 Grandmasters is SOooooooo different; firstly, this music sucks; it is not in harmony with Chen Bing moving explosively with FaJing; secondly, unless "You" have been "Hit Like a GORILLA", you have no experience the kind of power true Tai Ji Masters can transmit from only what you see; the illusion of "slow", when he cannot see the destructive power from "Relaxation". As too the Fighter Kimbo, that sure enough has brute strength power; these Tai Ji Masters would destroy him. Should they "not" want to hurt him, they would just play with him; it is more than what one comment says: "to use his power against him". That is just a "Deflection". What Kimbo would feel, is like when you run into a wall. When Kimbo hit them, he would feel "Iron" in their body. Another wall, a stone wall.
Here, perhaps an insight, perhaps not; this is my Teacher, Great Grandmaster Pai TienLung, that i got one of those gifts of life; he had me live with him 24\7 from Dec`1977 to Apr`1985. I know stuff. Now pay attention; here GM Lung Pai is age 62, cracking this 600lb ice wall, in the blink-of-an-Eye, "with NO brute force", slicing through like its butter; Tai Chi Chuan, (Tai Ji Quan), is only 1\10th of what he taught we Pai Lum Kyun Dragons; do you still think, kind of foolishly aye, that any of you could take a hit from my Teacher, or Teachers like him? Inclusive, Students like us, for we trained & practiced & Fought & trained more; until ... we can hit like GORILLA!

What is this? Put this little man against Kimbo Slice and then you will see. Before he makes a move, Kimbo will turn him into a lifeless heap of meat.

Bella Casa Decor LOL... is that so? Clearly you don't understand what Master Chen Bing is capable of, or anything about taiji. Nobody stands a chance against a Taiji master, or a Grandmaster.

Derek Hadden having seen masters of different kinds I would have to humbly disagree with the second half of your statement and would say you should check your humbleness. While Chen style taiji and the oldest forms of baguazhang are from what I have seen up there as some of the most versatile methods of controlling someones flow they are not the greatest. As a man studying the origins and having seen masters of many practices train I find that the aiki in aikido is amazing and should not be sold short but the greatest most destructive potential I have seen exists in The Indian/ southern Asian style of Silat which grew to create much of what became the Chen syle many of us so dearly love.

Kimbo is pure muscle power and that is limited. A Tai Chi Chuan master uses internal chi power which is limitless and he would also very easily just use Kimbo's own power against him.
The Tai Chi Classics state that "It takes only 4 ounces to deflect a thousand lbs".
Think of water - a soft flowing substance which has the power to be a tsunami or a mighty river which can toss boulders around like little toys
In Chinese 'Tai Chi Chuan' means 'Supreme Ultimate Fist'
