Good info for first time plowers like me. Where I live, the first snow comes early and doesn’t melt until spring. Also, plowing a lot of gravel, along with some concrete.
I love, "not gonna talk about safety at all... common sense." Just started plowing on my 4wheeler and it's so much fun. Thanks for the great video. 👍 picked up a few pointers.
I taught myself how to plow on a Yamaha grizzly 660 when I was 12 years old. Im 16 now and I can't even tell you how many times I've gone over the handle bars or completely thrown the 4 wheeler to one side. Ive also snapped the winch cable a few times just lifting the snow to get it on top of the pile. I live in buffalo ny so we get really heavy snow because it is all lake effect. I've learned so much and I kinda just realized it watching this video.
A couple tips I have would be to always have a good stance on the machine and if you are on a 4 wheeler try standing while you plow. I barely ever sit because you can get a great view of your surroundings while standing which is important while plowing. Also always look both ways twice every single time you push snow to the other side of a street.
Shane Czora Ive actually gotten in the habit of pretty much standing no matter what I'm doing on my quad. I have a grizzly 700, and I plow with it and ride trails, and I literally never sit unless I'm on the flattest smoothest trails.
Noobie on an ATV here and I kearned quickly that standing and suddendly stopping is not the best combination. I can see pushing a pile of snow to stackmit a problem if you stay standing.
Also, you need to know if it's better to snowplow or snowblow...in your particular situation. There are times when you just don't have the room to snowplow, and snow blowing is the best option.
*mboiko* you make a good point there. There are some deciding factors to help you choose whether a snowplow or snowblower is best for you. Snowblowers do come in handy for tighter areas at time and do take up less room to store versus a UTV. For larger areas a UTV or ATV would be the way to go. Less strain on your body. Snowblowers do have self-propelling features that help take some of the work load and are cheaper than to have a UTV or ATV + a snowplow system and winch. Just something to think about. But if you already have a UTV or ATV, i'd go that route. Hope this helps. Thanks for watching.
Tracks make a world of difference when piling snow. However they are expensive. We get enough snow here that they are worth it. If you live on an area with high winds then wind rowing will add to the problem. That ridge is the first place snow piles up when the wind blows across it. I keep the edges as flush as possible with my driveway and the wind blows the snow straight across. I wind row in the field where the snow piling up doesn’t matter. Now having said all that I live in the country and have room to do all this. Living in an urban Center really restricts your options.
Here's a link to the rocker switch that comes with the Tusk winch: www.rockymountainatvmc.com/parts/tusk-winch-replacement-rocker-switch-p and most machines will have a place close to the steering wheel or center console where you can mount switches. I believe on this particular machine we mounted the switch to the dash below the steering wheel.

Glad the video helped! Good luck this winter, and thanks for watching!

Ramping with tracks, i could do that all winter.. so much fun.

Enjoyed your vid, subbed to the page!
The best ATV\UTV Snow plowing video on UA-cam. Thank you! This was awesome.
This is my first year and I have a gravel driveway how far should put my blade without pulling gravel up
Another tip, I coat my blade with a natural beeswax (non toxic) to prevent snow from sticking to the blade :-)
Great vid. I made a plow video and stumbled on yours. Solid info. Good advice.👍liked it!
Best video on UA-cam! Wow! Thanks for all of this!
Glad you liked our video *Kevin!*
Very good video. Thanks for making it!

*F3N5T4* - This is true. Thanks for sharing your techniques with us. Really appreciate it! Now, if we could just get some more snow :)
Ok as you know some UTVs have ride adjusting shocks which you need a Snail Wrench to adjust, When plowing should I set them for the harder ride?
Ray H yes
@@gsfbffxpdhhdf7043 Thanks, anyone know where to get these wrenches?
Where is your flashing/revolving light?
What model Polaris is this? Are there any modifications done?
put a snow flap on the top of the blade so you don't need to repeat a path because it boiled over
Good tip for on those deeper snow falls. Thanks Monte
MONTE CASLER They will only push so much weight.
Hi. Do u use corded winch control something different
Yes, this was just a standard winch operated by a rocker switch inside the machine.
@@rmatvmc what switch is it and where do u have it mounted

👍👍
What plow setup is that?
I use a ATV to plow
“This is the part we told our wives about....”. OK that’s funny.
My driveway is up hill both ways and it sucks Ass !!! I hate it !!!!
Cactus?
that's why you need a tractor and blower....4 wheelers were never intended for these plows...same with sxs...not heavy enough...
