It's interesting how Heaven is designed like a shopping center/commerce district. Anyone else get that vibe from the streets and the layout? Like it's just one big mall for the people to amuse themselves in by mingling or buying things.
It seems kinda fake to me - if I found myself in a city that’s just one big shopping mall, I would be asking all manner of questions about logistics: where are the residential areas? What about districts zoned for industrial purposes? What manner of transportation is dominant? Etc…

What I'm finding interesting is that Charlie, who is good by all accounts, can't go and stay in heaven. The show is really tackling the thought "If angels can fall, shouldn't that mean demons could ascend?"
It seems a big plot point has been that you can only go down and there's no second chances or do-overs. Charlie wanting to make that possible is what's got the show in the first place.

The biggest thing is that Charlie isn't a sinner like Angel or most of the other characters. She's Hell-borne, born in Hell from Lucifer (himself a Heaven-borne Angel) and Lilith (a sinner, presumably, it's a little unclear but she was a human sent to Hell so I think that's the best way to qualify her). Only people who were once human become Sinners in Hell or Saints in Heaven when they die based upon unknown criteria. (We assume there is a moral dimension at least but not even the angels know the details)
Hell-borne and Heaven-borne have never been human though and were, as the name implies, born in the respective dimensions. As we've seen with Charlie, their morality may be very different from their home dimension. Most of the Exorcists (Like Vaggie and Lute) aside from Adam are Heaven borne angels almost certainly because it would be hard to find enough Saints as cruel as Adam to fill their ranks otherwise. Many of them are still products of their environments however. Most of the characters in Helluva Boss for instance are Hell-borne, Imps and Hell Hounds and Goetia and the Lords of the Other Rings. So your average Imp isn't strictly evil, but if you grow up in Hell you might not come out the most well-adjusted individual.
It is notable though that the Hell-borne have a particularly raw deal. Sinners were at least theoretically judged, even if we don't know the criteria and whether or not they can be redeemed, Hell-borne are stuck entirely by circumstance. Indeed it seems like the entire question of if they can go to Heaven or not is essentially arbitrary. Lucifer got kicked out of Heaven because the Angels didn't like him giving Free Will to humanity, Charlie is barred almost certainly because of the political implications of the Morningstar's daughter hanging around Heaven, Vaggie was cast out for showing mercy to a Sinner, and the CHERUBs from Helluva Boss were barred from Heaven because of accidentally killing a human.
Basically, while the exact metaphysics on how one becomes a sinner or saint is unclear, for the rest it's really just Heaven deciding who they want on the invite list.

If Charlie’s entire project is hinged on the premise that sinners can be redeemed with a second chance, it would make absolutely no sense if she doesn’t allow Vaggie to do the same.

Why would Adam reveal Vaggie's "true identity" then send her back to hell if she was a spy of some sort (possible misinterpretation)?
If Vaggie just tells the story of how she got stuck in hell, which was to rebel against the extermination and spare a child in hell, Charlie surely wouldn't mind her origins, right?
And if it's just because she lied about her origins, to be fair, an angel who lost most of their power in hell would likely attract unwanted attention, even if she was to only reveal this to Charlie, it'd be a bit risky.
So, imo, it shouldn't really amount to anything

Still the concept of demons climbing up is facinating but that's all it is. It's like a muderer thinking he can get rid of the blood on his hands by doing good deeds. It's as adam said you had your chance (a entire life time) and now that you rejected God you won't be in his presence and he wont force you into his.

Honestly, I get that! It feels like a mixture of invitation and a sort of mocking "look at how much better we have it up here!"
The brimstone comment could just be taken as a “we like to keep the place clean” sort of thing, but Sera reminding them it’s only for a day was absolutely unnecessary.

I like that Vaggie is completely unfazed by Heaven because she’s *been* there before, she was probably born there and is thousands of years old. It also explains her sort of “no nonsense, drill sergeant” vibe, especially when she threw some of them over the building, literally saying stuff like, “there is nothing stronger than the bond of a comrade in arms” or something like that. I mean a lot of people saw it coming, but it was still nice to see them commit to it. My only real complaint is that they obviously have a very fast-paced story going on here, most likely due to Amazon’s scheduling, I kinda wish they had like two more episodes to help give the story just a little more room to breathe and slow down, but considering all of the stuff that going on, the story threads, the plot, the stellar animation and all of that; yeah, it’s not too bad, it still feels more cohesive than Helluva Boss at the moment.

it's a real shame that the show only got 8 episodes for this first season
i mean the timeline of the show being over a 6 month period leaves us skipping like 20 days on average for every one day we saw in an episode, and that's ignoring the fact that 6-8 all take place in just over one month based on what Adam said during You Didn't Know
i know filler episodes are usually despised but we probably could've done with some here given the size of the main cast, flesh them out a bit more, give newcomers who didn't see the pilot a chance to be introduced, etc

What I love about this (and maybe someone already pointed it out), is that Heaven is just as diverse in design of its residents as Hell. Like, usually, you get completely random and grotesque hybrids for demons to show their chaotic alignment, and angels are copy-pasted uniformized people with wings and very few differences to represent order, but it's not the case here : everyone can be partially or completely animal-like, plant-like, item-like (having a TV or wings for a head for example), have extra limbs and organs, whatever, on BOTH sides of the spectrum.
In fact, the only ones that are 'uniformized' (both figuratively and literally) are the Exorcists - those who are the main problem.
Honestly, kudos to that.

DARREN CRISS NAILED THE F*** OUT OF THIS SONG!!!! I love his tone, belts, and smooth runs 👏. My favourite part of the song is that beautiful flow of his voice at 0:12 with a little “ah” adds so much funk and Shoba Narayan have so much soul and gospel at 0:42 on “down” 👏❤️. But those harmonies at the end was the perfect way to end the song at 0:50 👌❤️.
