from the first available interviews with this man, it was clear that he speaks very honestly what he thinks. It´s an honor to be with him in this fraternity of watch nerds. his definition of luxury is brilliant. as a hip-hop fan since 1987, Flavor Flav´s timepieces - of course, not wrist watches - have been etched in my memory. then G-Shocks and then bust downs etc.
Just got home from work and finaliy got the chance to give this episode the focus and attention it deserves. Enjoyed this one a lot! Learning from what Yoni has to say about his experience working in the industry and how it lead him to work with one of the few remaining living legends was pure gold.
Such a dope point to touch on. If I walk into a boutique and your energy is sale based only, you will lose me fast. I get it, that’s just not the experience I prefer. One instance affected me to the extent that I will never buy a watch from that particular brand…ever!! It had yoni so disgusted that he went home and SOLD the timepiece from the brand that gave him a bad experience. I can definitely relate. 💯
I hate the fact AP has collaborated with the brand Material Good's to open up a couple boutique's, it makes it so hard for first time owner's to buy, they want you to either purchase a used watch to start a relationship or purchase a code, which is honestly ridiculous, spending money on a watch you dont like to join a family is not good marketing. I put an interest in first week the ap house in meat packing opened up to finally have the lady tell me ''two years'' later i have to buy a code or a offshore to acquire the watch i want, crazy.
