My parents lived in MOAB in 1962-65. I visited MOAB in 1972. I rode on the back of my Dads motorcycle to Dead Horse Point. Also saw Hole in the Wall where there was a cave turned into a house. So beautiful. ❤

I did the trail in 2019 in a RAM 1500 and it was the scariest thing I have ever experienced . Went back the next year and spent 5 nights camped at Dead Horse Point and it's a 2000 mile drive to get there. Love the place. Headed back out to the area in a couple of months.

Love Shafer Trail, but the Needles was our favorite part of Canyonlands National Park. It's so scenic! We did the Elephant Hill trail out to the Confluence. Highly recommended!

The Cafe from the movie scene is located in Thompson Springs Utah, 30 miles north of Moab... also famous scenes from older westerns are north east of Moab and is called Fisher Towers.
We spent a spring, summer and fall in Thompson Springs working at Ballard RV park... we made it to all the National Parks in Utah... rafted down the Colorado, Rock climbed with my adult son, camped at a lake at 10,000 ft and there was a 30 degree temp change, had a local fishing licence and caught our daily limit several times... we plan on going back some time.

The petroglyphs on 279 Potash Plant Rd ... The dirt was up that high when the native tribe placed the petroglyphs on the varnished rock face... Then we modern day people excavated the dirt away to build the road.. This is how they became to high up..

Been there done that. Drove down Shafer Trail after hitting Dead Horse Point and Islands in the Sky. We even looked over the top from the Visitor Center. My dearly beloved was able to keep her eyes open about half the time on the drive along the face and in the switchbacks. Finally the desire to see the scenery overcame her apprehensions. We hope to get back early next year. We encountered a bike rider on his way up.
You think Islands in the Sky is hyperbole until you see it. Nah, they're exaggerating, nope, they aren't.

Hey guys! Thelma and Louise?! 😱 Anyway, I bought my extended warranty this weekend! Thanks so much for that heads up! I have an older class B - a Rialta - so it doesn’t cover the coach aspect. However, having everything else covered - including tires & wheels - is a HUGE load off my solo mind. Because being a motorhome, if the motor don’t go, you’re sunk! Just in time, as I’m heading down for a run to FL next week, and after that it’s westward ho! Thanks again guys! ❤️

I really want to do the Schafer trail!!! I was planning a ride on that and continuing on to do the white rim trail which is 100 miles in the dirt. But I don't think our off road pop up is quite sturdy enough to be bouncing around that bad.
    Nice video!! Thanks for sharing.

Loved this. Spectacular work! I was there in April and man it is amazing. We had to get a recovery guy (Trail Mater, check out his channel) to get us out of Kane Creek Canyon. But yes, this is a must-see area of our country. Thanks for all the work that went into this. It was worth it. You captured it as best it can be.

Another free camping area that won't be free much longer. I believe that area will be part of the new 7,000-8,000 acre Utahraptor State Park that the state created to protect the fossil areas from the high volume of boondock campers. Once developed, there will only be a couple of developed campgrounds within the park charging regular SP camping rates. No more boondocking.

We just got back from off-roading in Moab. Nothing personal but we, along with 2 other vehicles, did Shafer Trail/ Switchbacks (rated a 2) which leads into Potash Rd (rated a 3), and it was nowhere as bad as you make it out to be. The “green lakes” are potash evaporation ponds. We did it in the rain and it was an easy, non technical drive. We were 2 full size Toyota Tundra pickups and a 4Runner. There were many other vehicles on the trail and no one in any ditches. I think you are being overly dramatic in your dialogue with regard to that trail (just sayin’). On a positive note the photography was excellent.

We have a 2022 Imagine and have 680 watts (4 panels) of solar, but they didn’t add a converter nor did they tell us we needed one to run the coffee pot or toaster. We need one correct? How much do you recommend if we want to boondock part time? We have 2 6 volt batteries too. We also have air conditioners. It would be nice to run at least one. We don’t have a generator yet. Any suggestion from anyone is appreciated. ❤️

must be great being rich. right now the up keep on my house keeps me from doing anything. taxes, and "fees" are killer in ca.
if lucky i can get tires for my trailer next month. then try and save up for gas money. for a spring time trip. ($6.00USD a gallon, truck might be lucky to get 7-8 mpg).
i have given up on trying to buy a new rv. $70K is not possible for me. dealers just want top dollar only for them.
