Kayla, I enjoy watching your participation in the park videos (Randy Smith solo videos are not as interesting), and so very impressed to see how well you get along with Shane, Natalie, and Hailey. As a father of a daughter myself, you words here are - I am sure - greatly treasured by your dad.

One of the BEST aspects of this channel has nothing to do with seeing America's Parks but seeing how daughters relate and interact with their Father. Having three teen daughters myself, this has been convicting and hopeful to watch. May God give grace to Father's to flesh out such directives.

Yes! You are right on the money. Research shows the HUGE impact of fathers on their daughters. What a HUGE responsibility fathers have been given. Thank you for sharing this GREAT advice and CALL TO ACTION for fathers. Scot regularly takes our daughters on dates to teach them how they should be treated, how they should act, and what their expectations should be for others around them. God has demonstrated this role for fathers. What an incredible calling. Thank you for taking that seriously with your daughters and for sharing it here openly. Honestly. And clearly. Looking forward to experiencing more of your channel.

Pastor Randy, as the father of a wonderful daughter who married an outstanding, godly young man, I can attest that your advice is spot-on! The first man a girl loves is her dad, and it’s incumbent upon fathers (with the Lord's help) to model how a man should treat a woman. I hope you have a wonderful Father’s Day! “May our daughters be like graceful pillars, carved to beautify a palace.” (Psalm 144:12)

Randy, thank you so much for this message and the example you are setting. I truly have been deeply encouraged since stumbling upon your channel earlier this year. My wife and I recently had a rare moment to spend a few hours on the road by ourselves. We talked about our 2 daughters and how we can prepare for these critical teenage years that are not too far away. I am indeed thankful for your example, and the renewed focus as a dad that I have from watching and observing your videos. I know the path can be rough at times, but its encouragement like this that keeps me convicted and on the path. God bless you and your family this Father's Day.

This is AMAZING ADVICE for every father, and I enjoyed it very much. After watching dozens of AMERICA’S PARKS videos it became obvious that you have a special relationship with your children. We have a daughter (only child) in her thirties now, we practiced many of your methods in raising our daughter to trust us always, and that she may tell us anything. Going camping in the early years and traveling together was all part of that. I admire that you spend 1:1 time with each child, and that contributes to the way they interact so well with each other (which is also AMAZING!).

Such an incredible blessing to know a father’s love, even more a blessing to know of The Father’s love for us. Just came across your channel recently and am really enjoying all your content. This video really hit my heart hard. My biological father wanted nothing to do with me, and my step Dad didn’t really know what to do with me. We didn’t have the best relationship. 20-some years of praying for a better relationship, The Lord has blessed me in these strange times with a wonderful opportunity to spend time with my step Dad ( just call him my Dad ☺️) as he shows me how to fix up and work on the house I just purchased with my husband. I can’t begin to tell you how overjoyed I am to have such precious time to bond with my dad. Praise God for you, and my dad, and all Dads out there striving to have a loving relationship with their daughters and sons, raising them up in Christ.

My 2 beautiful daughters are grown and starting families of there own. I did my best to be a strong role model for them. The thing is I've worked overnights their entire lives and I know there were times I could have done better. Just too many times that I was too burned out , times I didn't have the patience I should have. But my girls know I love them and want nothing but the absolute best for both of them.

And that is what matters most of all, David! I'm sure they knew and appreciated your true heart! If we are honest, all of us are flawed and that's why they come to learn only one (heavenly) Father is perfect. Happy Father's Day!

Very nice Randy. Watched it Pennie and she also was great full to you for sharing your thoughts. Being a Dad( and step dad) myself I realize how much of challenge it is. But it has been by far the most rewarding thing in my life. I struggle with it sometimes also, especially since I have become more or less estranged from my kids from my 1st marriage. I always think about it,what to do, what to say, should I let them come to me, should I right a letter? The list of questions goes on and on...but the one for sure thing I do is pray about it. Maybe God is telling me to be patient..because right now I cant seem to find the right answer...so i wait. But i know when God tells me I will be ready to listen. I am very thankful of my awesome relationship with kaylie and my wonderful 3 step kids, which i think of as my own. Thanks for this bud...hope to see you out on the road soon.

God bless you, my friend! That's the beauty of grace - it forgives, humbles and encourages - because we are all flawed creatures. Hope you find the wisdom you need to move forward!

Random thought... since you've traveled to Utah a lot for some reason I thought you might be of the LDS faith.. (which I am). I noticed in some of your videos that you express a lot of the same values we believe in. Regardless of your faith it's good to see someone who is upholding good virtues/ values. Nice to see that in this world.

Ok, we might need you to start a new channel called "America's Dad" if you share anymore virtuous truth! Haha. But seriously, thank you for sharing this wonderful video. As a young man raised without a father, I value these words. I hope this reaches more people, and stamp out the negativity around us.

@@AmericasParks if it helps, I used to dislike videos just to remind myself I had watched it. I thought liking the video put it in some sort of a list of videos that I had watched and would fill up and not allow me to do it anymore. I since have learned this is not the case. So just know, it's perhaps not someone really disliking it, but someone tagging it as they have seen it.

Incredible video. I love how these principles are primarily based on the Bible's teachings. If I have the privilege of becoming a father one day I hope I can follow these as well as you have. This website called jw.org has great Bible-based information about family life, and as a man of faith I'm sure you would love it. I strongly suggest you check it out!
