I’m not sure why anyone wouldn’t want a sink in their utility room, it’s a no brainer for me really 🤷🏻♀️ We live in a new build and it’s a real shame the developer didn’t put that in our utility room - useful for hand washing clothes, pre treating stains and emptying tumble dryer water!
The house is looking awesome 👍 Laundry rooms are pretty standard in Australia but a cool trick to reduce moisture and mould from the dryer is an extraction fan.
I 💯 pile the kids in the car when it’s getting to much for a reset! I have a 3 and 1 year old and sometimes I just need space lol. You’re definitely it alone! Also the house looks so so lovely. Can’t wait xx

Every time my home has fresh flowers it just elevates something in the air 💐 Also with all the grievances that come with living through a large renovation i can still see the worth in it. What an amazing area you live in with great places to walk Kiki. My daughter has a Cavapoo and he’s adorable. What breed is Kiki? She looks very similar but she is a lot smaller & I love her curly tail 🐶

We live on a farm about 2hrs north of Toronto, ON, and house flies inside in the summer are a constant, and we keep all doors and windows screened

Hi Em. These house updates have been really great n giving me a lot of inspo, so thanks. I’m not sure if you would consider sharing some info about contractor / carpenter ect. I’m based in Essex n am desperately looking for someone reliable. If you wouldn’t mind, I could email? I’m not sure if this is appropriate but I just love Fraser’s window seat and ur old under stairs cupboard. Sorry if this seems weird but it’s been a struggle to find anyone.

The laundry room upstairs will be SO nice! Ours is in the basement so it's two flights away, but thankfully I have 3 boys too that carry loads up and down. I just bought some nice laundry bags with big metal handles to make it easier for them to carry. So exciting to see these updates along the way!

I'm so happy to see other people get on board with the upstairs laundry thing... laundry in the kitchen just doesn't make sense to me!! We made a laundry room in our old house, and found the vibration mat wasn't as effective as simply making sure the washer is level by adjusting it's feet!

@@mrsemilynorris Ah I’m such a silly billy! Of course I’ve seen it in your temporary kitchen probably a thousand times. That’s very nice! Having to do without a washer was an issue when we renovated our kitchen. I used the laundrette, as lovely as it was to have something to use, there’s nothing like being at home and being able to wash your clothes in your own machine.

Laundry room looks great. Perfect size I'd say. Lots of space to dry and fold your washing so will do its purpose. I'd have sacrificed q little space too to have a slightly bigger bathroom. So excited to see it finished!

My brother did those wood-like tiles throughout his house and they love it. He has 4 kids ranging 1-13 so spills are inevitable and now they get the beautiful look of wood floors with the convenience of ceramic.

if you had dark brown or black grout between those laundry room tiles, it would look a lot more realistically like floorboards 😊
PS for those wondering: it's quite standard to have a sink in the laundry room in the US/Canada. Helps for hand washing too in addition to the things Emily mentioned.
