aww, you forgot to show the Voyager Bar there inside of Stratus (or cut that part out).. It's just a bar, but it's another one of those details they put in the game that are nifty. Also, there's some more interesting area on Providence Platform, that has some shipping/industrial areas, as well as a Cousin Crow's Customs shop that will hopefully be a source for customization of ships later on. And as mentioned.. this is the PTU (Public Test Universe) which will be around for a week or three, after which the PU (Persistent Universe aka Live) system will be updated. There's a lot more than just Orison updated this time around, it's going to be a pretty big change for ship HUD's and flight mechanics, and ship weaponry. I'm sure you'll find this out as you dive deeper!

After visiting Orison and took part of Xenothreath event my reaction is to stand up, clap and bravo CIG. Earlier New Babbage at sunrise brought tear to my eye. That coming from 41 years old Finnish male is a lot :D
It got to me as well. And to think, people were complaining about a lack of content in 3.14. Everything has changed in terms of combat. It's like a whole new game. And you get this new amazing landing zone.
You're currently in the PTU (public test universe) where you have access to all ships and also ground vehicles but you need to go purchase those from Lorville, hence the $15,000,000 for that and components, armor, etc. You can use all the ships as often as you like but obviously that ends once the patch goes to the Live servers.
@@TheGoodishGamer Yeah 3.14 is a good chance to test dream boats because on PTU they rarely unlock this many ships but you always get 15M to buy them. This patch is rebalancing all ships and combat and a new HUD so all the ships need a look over to make sure HUDs work and evaluate combat capabilities. Be careful with the 890 and giant ships. There is a bug where the atmosphere is 750KM away and some ships run out of fuel and fall into the gas giant and die before being able to quantum away. The clouds on Crusader are a first for a new system that renders dynamic volumetric clouds and wraps them in planet scale. Eventually all clouds and stellar nebulae will be made from it once they get it dialed in. They are also using Crusader as a test bed for dynamic hull pressure zones that will damage or destroy a ship depending on what its hull can take. One day we may get submarines for exploring water planets.
@@Wbroach24 Yeah was on last night and some CIG folks popped in and mentioned the fix is in the delivery pipe. I assume the next PTU build will popup on Tuesday and should hopefully fix it.
To take your armor off to just wear clothing just take off your Undersuit. when you put it back on the game will remember all of your Armor/Weapon/Consumable choices and equip them back automatically when you re-equip your Undersuit. There is a bug in 3.13 that may still be in 3.14 where your skullcap for your helmet may still be on your character's head without the Helmet when you just take off the Undersuit. The workaround is take your Helmet off first and then take off your Undersuit. Fun fact: That Crusader model that is in the Trade and Development center is the actual model used for the planet in 3.13 and before. They didn't want to just throw it out so they put it in here as a little reminder of the past.

Welcome to the Verse. Enjoying your videos, keep up the great work! You get to test all the current ships while in the PTU so it's a great time to fly the ships of your dreams. You missed the night club on the top floor of Stratus (take the elevator) and the residential area. Other than that I think you visited everything. The residential area has me excited for the day that we'll have a home within the game. I think the habs will be the first iteration of livable homes until we're able to purchase land and build our own bases and homes.

Orison is a dream come true for me. Usually my favorite city architecture is the massive multi-level design from the cyberpunk genre with infinite amounts of nooks and crannies, backstreets and backyards, noodle bars and android spare-part piles. But Orison is such an incredible synergy between windy, refreshing cherry blossom avenues and nested industrial structures, far-off islands with golf courses department and apartment buildings, and all on industrial platforms floating in the sky..... ....I simply can't resist... 🥰
fyi there are a lot of other platforms you can fly and land on - they'll eventually be activated for box/courier missions but you can visit now and see some of the residences...
Lived the video. Not a typo, just did it a week earlier than you. Had many of the same reactions as you did, but I was luckier as I was there at sunset. Great job in catching your experience. I've had plenty of WOW moments in over 3 decades of gaming BUT Orison was *the most* amazing I've ever had!

I think you should leave Orison in one of Crusader Industries' ships, I would recommend the C2 Hercules for leaving because its a very nice, relaxing style of ship, it is a very controllable ship for its large size, and because it is the centerpiece of Crusader Industries ship manufacturing.

I've been playing since 2013, and it has definitely been frustrating, but I always come back because it's just chock full of possibility. Traded up my Cutlass eventually to an MSR, then MSR to the Hercules C2 and never looked back. Perfect vehicle transport and cargo ship. Crusader is definitely my favorite manufacturer. Looking forward to my Ares being released next patch.

Something not everyone noticed yet, which is really cool in my opinion, is how the informational video you watched at the end is working. It's not just a screen with the textures being shown for the video. If you walk up really close to it youll see there is pixels! The video is being made by thousands of little pixels they programed to change colors and make the image like a real screen would. It's a level of detail that blew me away.

Wow... They got THE LAMP on there too... 27:25 I can't believe i missed that... That exact lamp is from some of the first episodes of Wingmans Hangar. That was the show that kickstarted my entire Star Citizen adventure back in 2013. I miss Erik Wingman Petersson.
You definitely need to show a video of Orison during the day or at sunset/sunrise. As pretty as it is at night, it's something else during the day. There's some graphic artifacts in the clouds but that should be gone by 3.15. Also everything isn't finished. We should be seeing even more of Orison including whale tours. It'll be one of the first AI animals in the game. Hopefully we'll see it before release at CitizenCon (in 75 days!)
17:09 That's "batik" it's a method of coloring fabric that only covers certain spots and not others as you can see. I love the tecknique myself. ^^ Although I prefer blue, green or yellow mixed with white.

Do keep in mind, not all PTU cycles will give you free access to so many ships. If CIG gives you a free ship in the PTU, it means they want you to have fun, and test them out for 'em. See if they're all on the up and up. For the most part you only missed a few areas of the Providence Platform. There is an Industrial Shop (Tammany and Sons) where you can get that sweet blue armor. It's available in different colors elsewhere in 3.14, i don't know where though.

lol, your reaction to the ship console. XD I'm sure it's already been explained a hundred times but you are in the PTU, the Test Universe. All of the ships are temporary. The idea is for everyone to test everything before it goes to LIVE. When it goes to LIVE the PTU will shut down and you go back to the PU and you will have the same ship(s) you had before. btw, you didn't actually go into the bar at Stratus and I was disappointed you didn't use one of the walkers at the hospital. =P

I can imagine it. Sometimes I’ll go sit on one the benches near the stormwal and take in the beauty. It’s so peaceful sitting the listening to the nearby fountains and the sound of the wind lightly blowing. It’s epic!

Missed Voyager Bar using the central elevator in Stratus! Is like a nightclub. And a bunch of other stuff at Providence platform if you followed the signs (you only tried to enter the areas that were closed off! But lots weren't). Also correction: Best tram seat is always right at the front stood up!
Medical gameplay is slated for 3.15 end of September; together with personal inventory, so finally we will no longer have the infinite bag of holding, but each item will be at one certain location, and can be stolen as well if you die with it on your person. Oh yeah, you missed the bar (The big round elevator), and stuff like the goods/cargo place.
This game has in-game videos that are more entertaining than most other games as a whole. I legitimately enjoy my time on Orison more than in any place IRL, especially Providence Industrial Platform.
FYI. In the October yearly CIG expo will be in game because of covid and I believe people will be submitting videos to CIG and they will be viewed in inside the game via video screens
Looks like you are on the PTU server. Those ships are for you to test. Take them out for a test ride. You will lose those when this patch goes live in about a week.
Maybe someone told you this already.. But on PTU you get 15million and all avaliable ships in game to fly for free just for testing purpouses.. also, everything you do in terms of progression (reputation, money, things you buy, etc) will not be reflected on the LIVE Servers, when PTU goes live all your progression will be deleted since its just the Test Build.
Low gravity is needed, no gravity is just going to mess things up, people who are saying Crusader should have built their shipyards in orbit have no idea
a "SPA" is actually the same as a GYM in "murica" but with the option to simply relax instead of a "workout", it is a fitness club you can recognize in-game at certain places / things what was developed by the european or the us team .. at special places you can even differentiate between "mainland" and "island monkeys" ...! ; ()

Thanks! You don’t need to create a new character every time. Just with the big updates so far. The game is still being developed so some times they have to reset some things to test the new code and such.
You can land pretty much on any platform including those Barge ships Edit: also to put on your clothes unequip your under suit. Edit2: lol 5 second rule I should have just kept watching lol. Edit3: That's not security you hear, that's the head of Xenothreat an anti government/corporate group that attacked Stanton awhile back at the beginning of patch 3.13 I think. They're back again. like below because its PTU and not the PU yes you have a bunch of the ships unlocked for testing due to flight and combat changes.

You missed cargo center and bar. You can use all those ships its testing server devs gave us ships and money for testing. You can buy that blue armor in orison cargo center there are other colors too in different stations.
You only missed the bar really lol. Orison has been the best landing zone yet, can't wait to see hundreds of players running through these platforms one day. As for what to take out i think its only appropriate to take the C2 out for a spin amoungst crusader
How many fps are you getting in orison, with your 3070? Do you think a 3070 would get me 40+ fps on a 3440 x 1440 monitor? Right now I'm only getting around 20 fps with a 1080 and a ryzen 5600x .

@@TheGoodishGamer NVME's are kinda expensive for my build so I'm trying to cut costs by getting a SATA SSD, which will give more or less the same performance, but at a cheaper cost. NVME's shine in things like heavy file transfer tasks. For gaming, a SATA interface will give the same performance as an NVME.

How did you manage to go unnoticed and not go to one of the most atmospheric places in the flying city-a bar on the second floor of the Stratus shopping center, which you can climb by elevator in the center of the shopping center, which you looked at at 12: 50..) And yes, on Orison, you can land on any part of flying structures and houses, except for the main locations in which you ran, i.e. Stratus, hospital and apartments, in order to avoid provocation of accidents by other players who can arrange a "banzai" in places where players and NPCs live..))
Are they gonna add androids to the game? You can hire androids or buy androids to accompany you on your travels and adventures...I just found out about this game yesterday and I am freaking out on just how insane this game is
I’m pretty sure it’s only available when CIG makes it available. You can go to your account on Robert space industries website and choose Settings then Public Test Universe from the menu there. Then you can add it to your game launcher. It’s not available at the moment of writing this comment tho.

Do keep in mind, not all PTU cycles will give you free access to so many ships. If CIG gives you a free ship in the PTU, it means they want you to have fun, and test them out for 'em. See if they're all on the up and up.
For the most part you only missed a few areas of the Providence Platform. There is an Industrial Shop (Tammany and Sons) where you can get that sweet blue armor. It's available in different colors elsewhere in 3.14, i don't know where though.

I'm sure it's already been explained a hundred times but you are in the PTU, the Test Universe. All of the ships are temporary. The idea is for everyone to test everything before it goes to LIVE. When it goes to LIVE the PTU will shut down and you go back to the PU and you will have the same ship(s) you had before.
btw, you didn't actually go into the bar at Stratus and I was disappointed you didn't use one of the walkers at the hospital. =P

I can imagine it. Sometimes I’ll go sit on one the benches near the stormwal and take in the beauty. It’s so peaceful sitting the listening to the nearby fountains and the sound of the wind lightly blowing. It’s epic!

Missed Voyager Bar using the central elevator in Stratus! Is like a nightclub. And a bunch of other stuff at Providence platform if you followed the signs (you only tried to enter the areas that were closed off! But lots weren't). Also correction: Best tram seat is always right at the front stood up!
Medical gameplay is slated for 3.15 end of September; together with personal inventory, so finally we will no longer have the infinite bag of holding, but each item will be at one certain location, and can be stolen as well if you die with it on your person. Oh yeah, you missed the bar (The big round elevator), and stuff like the goods/cargo place.
This game has in-game videos that are more entertaining than most other games as a whole.
I legitimately enjoy my time on Orison more than in any place IRL, especially Providence Industrial Platform.

The PTU often gives everyone every ship plus 15 million credits to test because it's the testing mode before the version goes live.

Looks like you are on the PTU server. Those ships are for you to test. Take them out for a test ride. You will lose those when this patch goes live in about a week.
You can adjust the lighting in the Hab at Orison and those little lights are for mood lighting...

Maybe someone told you this already.. But on PTU you get 15million and all avaliable ships in game to fly for free just for testing purpouses.. also, everything you do in terms of progression (reputation, money, things you buy, etc) will not be reflected on the LIVE Servers, when PTU goes live all your progression will be deleted since its just the Test Build.

Thanks! You don’t need to create a new character every time. Just with the big updates so far. The game is still being developed so some times they have to reset some things to test the new code and such.

How many fps are you getting in orison, with your 3070? Do you think a 3070 would get me 40+ fps on a 3440 x 1440 monitor? Right now I'm only getting around 20 fps with a 1080 and a ryzen 5600x .

OK so I'm building myself a new rig specifically for Star Citizen. Do I necessarily need a NVME drive or will a SATA SSD do?
Cause there isnt much of a difference in the loading times in games, so i thought I could replace the NVME with a SATA SSD.
SATA SSD will do, in fact it's a must and anything fast is bonus, 16Gb of RAM minimum really as well.
@@retrowrath9374 Yeah the rest of the parts are pretty much overkill for SC, just wanted to confirm the viability of the SATA SSD, I'm not going with HDD at all.

@@TheGoodishGamer NVME's are kinda expensive for my build so I'm trying to cut costs by getting a SATA SSD, which will give more or less the same performance, but at a cheaper cost. NVME's shine in things like heavy file transfer tasks. For gaming, a SATA interface will give the same performance as an NVME.

How.. How did you manage to go unnoticed and not go to one of the most atmospheric places in the flying city-a bar on the second floor of the Stratus shopping center, which you can climb by elevator in the center of the shopping center, which you looked at at 12: 50..)
And yes, on Orison, you can land on any part of flying structures and houses, except for the main locations in which you ran, i.e. Stratus, hospital and apartments, in order to avoid provocation of accidents by other players who can arrange a "banzai" in places where players and NPCs live..))

What ship are you using? To get out of the atmosphere you have to be at or above 150km. Smaller ships are better for getting out of the atmosphere.

I’m pretty sure it’s only available when CIG makes it available. You can go to your account on Robert space industries website and choose Settings then Public Test Universe from the menu there. Then you can add it to your game launcher. It’s not available at the moment of writing this comment tho.
