@@dreamisoup seeing how the kh3 novels and character files have double down on proving themselves more than acceptable as part of the canon story, and how kh3 even hints at vanitas' tragedy in his bittersweet goodbye where he reveals how he's sacrificing himself for the sake of Sora and ven, im hopeful... Of course, probably minus the vomiting and legit child abuse, but, ya know ahaha

Like when people talk about the beauty of transformative fan art this kind of art is the best version of it. Taking a character like Vanitas, who in canon was arguably such a “throwaway” concept just for a few games, and fans rejecting the canon fate to really delve deep into the themes his character represents is so incredible. Kingdom hearts is so silly on surface level but it’s so fantastic how fun and tragic it can get when you go deeper into it. Kudos to you and your animatics, departure verse, and rouwan for the great sovani content 💜
