Oh now... what a wonderful start to the 2025 Colour Combo. I LOVE IT. I also love the construction of the mark making tool and will be making myself one for sure - super idea. WELL DONE DARLING....
Well, done Ceri. I think you did a nice job of relieving people who worry too much about matching of the color and whether they’re interpreting your intent correctly. Sometimes I think people worry a little too much about that. It’s their art their interpretation of what’s being suggested and whether they’re having fun. I think you did a great job of relieving people of that concern. Your project turned out very nice.🌷
Learned a new technique. "Little brains floating around" "Work quickly otherwise become too much of a perfectionist" paraphrased but resonates with me. Thank you.
I love the teaser at the start. This is going to be the year I actually dare to have a go at making some art! Thank you for making me feel as though that might be possible.
Have as great year Ceri. I wish all the best to u !!! I finally moved back into my home. And my husband I not at all happy about it. He is a narcissist and I stuck it out for 50 yrs but no more. I love watching u it reall helps my day. Thank u soo much. ❤❤❤❤
I enjoyed the process of the painting through the added mark making. Fun to watch how you mixed your watercolors. Never thought of using a pipette to add the water without messing up your paints in the palette. Thank you for sharing this video.
Hi Ceri. Fun colors for a fun project to kick off the new year. Great tip on making the line/grid mark making tool. TFS Hope you have a wonderful 2025. Big ((hugs)). ❤
Good morning dear Ceri! Such a wonderful kick off to the new year. Lovely colours, great project. Thank you so much. Have a blessed day, big hugs for you. 🙏💙🤗
Thank you for this great video to start the new year, Happy New Year Ceri, may you always find peace and creativity in the midst of what’s happening around. I never done grid journaling/art, I would need to make me probably also a template if not my adhd wouldn’t allow it, that things need to be straight is a challenge.
Oh what fun these are! I just love your color combos, Ceri! How sweet you are to start our new year with such a fun project. I love the colors! I found it really helpful to use your chapters to go back and capture the color names and the full description of the Pebeo Precious Gold paint. I really like that specific gold too. So glad you included it in the video. If you don’t mind, where might I find the list of the Panton Colors? You’re a gem! Happy New Year to you. Ceri! Much love, Julia ❤🎉🥳🎊🎄🥂♥️
Thank you Julia I’m so glad you found the chapters useful. The Pantone colours can be found almost anywhere, I normally put the name and code into Pinterest and it finds it as well as close matches but you could search Pantone on the search engines and it will bring up many alternatives as well.
Thank you, Ceri, for your willingness to take the time to help and share your knowledge. You can add “Professor” to your list of many talents! I had heard you mention them in a recent video as well and had never heard of them before that. Now that I know how to spell it correctly , I can go from there! Thanks again, Julia
Happy New Year! 🎉 I’m becoming more and more interested in doing a grid journal. 🤔 I love the colors this month, so bright and festive! Thanks for the inspiration and I’m looking forward to a fun filled year with you!❤
Happy 2025 Ceri. I like the new intro for your videos. It’s very professional. I love this color combo! And I cannot wait to experiment with them. I really like the addition of a specific mark to include to the combo -it’ll be great fun to play with and I cant wait to see what others come up with. I like your idea of making a DIY mark maker each month for use in the color combo. Your creativity always inspires me Ceri, as I watch this video; so many ideas are running through my mind. It’s deciding which idea to go with that sometimes causes me difficulty. Before I end this today I want to wish you the happiest of Birthdays today! I hope that you celebrate this milestone of turning 60 with great flair! ❤❤❤
Thank you Ceri! You’ve inspired me as usual. I needed a PUSH! Ha! Adding the texture or pattern component is a brilliant idea. Just like the wonderful postcard challenge was for me! Wishing you all the best in 2025!
Watched the other video where you made your mark making tool, genius. Will definitely be making one for myself. It was great seeing you use it. I loved the colour combination, the squiggles on the page before adding your squares was inspired. I cannot wait for the next one. Xx
Hi Ceri! Thanks so much for these challenges! I would love to see a colour combo challenge with yellow, any shade, even like a cornmeal, maybe with teal and an earth tone. Thanks!
Coincidence…just as you were saying the art police, I had a knock at the door. Thankfully it was my friend stopping by. 2025 is my year of exploration. Even though I’ve been doing mixed media for years, there is so much I need to dabble in. Thanks for being here for so many. Happy New Year!
Happy New Year 2025! Am I a snob? I never worried about having the exact colour match with your Colour Combo videos. Because I'm a newbie and not an official artist, I picked colours that were as close as I could get, and I had fun creating something using coloured pencils, markers, watercolours and/or acrylic paints. I love your videos because you address newbies with thoughtfulness. I enjoy watching how you bring other elements into your Colour Combo videos (actually, most of your other videos). For instance, today, you use square watercolour paper to create on, then paste them onto your grid journal book. Thank you, Ceri, you've tickled my creative brain to try something different. OH yes, I must try making a tool like yours to make lines and grids. Thanks!!
You’ve done exactly what I want everyone to do, this colour combo is more about using what you have, the closest colour match and not about using it as an excuse to buy more supplies. Great job, thank you.
Ceri, I am (finally) enthused about grid journals having seen a few of your videos. I have a couple of packs of pre-cut square papers for Zentangle which I have never been able to get excited about…shall make use of them and have a go at creating one of them myself this year. This was a fun colour combination as well. I am SO impressed with all of your inventiveness displayed, particularly your mark making and using of tools like corks and lids! Well done yet again! Every blessing this new year 2025!
Ceri: colors and design is great. I really like the building up of the complete design. It looks like fun to see the completed art piece. Carol from California
Love it, this is so cool. I am looking for new ideas for this year to use items I have not used and in a new way. I started out doing watercolor painting, loved it and still do it on occasion, but I want to incorporate it into my other crafts, this is perfect. Thanks so much for the inspiration, Ceri. Have a blessed day and a wonderful new year.

Chris I think the foam stamps you’re referring to are called Nested Circles but the company I design for PM Artist Studio in Texas, I didn’t design these foam stamps they did, but I do love them and use them often. First again……lol….these colors have been my jam for the last couple of months. I’m gonna participate, but can’t share cause I don’t have Facebook. Happy New Year Ceri! Thinking of you and sending hugs to you and Biscuit.
Happy New Year, Ceri! Love your color combo :) and the grid maker is so clever! I’m going to make one after posting this comment…unless I get sidetracked in the 30 seconds it’ll take me to walk to my chipboard stash 😂 Also, I appreciate your take on the butterfly’s gender. I know it’s a little thing but as the saying goes, if I had a nickel for every time I heard an artist/crafter say “he” or “him” to describe any animal that isn’t overtly female (e.g., bow on head, skirt, etc.), I’d be rich. One would think females are a rare entity. I’m not saying you were taking a stance or anything. I only wanted to say that I appreciate that you even thought about it. Oh and the new format is great! Cari to you have a video on the grid journal page with the leaves on? I have been looking though your videos and not finding that one. Thank you made my stamping tool and enjoyed the make of this grid, following along on your make.
Thank you Christy and unfortunately the day I created that grid journal page with the leaves I was just playing and didn't turn on the camera, I might try and do something similar in the future though.
Love how these came out and even more so I love this combo! I’m so inspired to go down to my glass studio (aka basement) and create something in these colors! Where can I share my finished take on this combo? I wasn’t clear if there’s a challenge to join (I know you said this isn’t a challenge) or if this is the colors for the year or for a month, etc. I might play with some paper too but I have these colors in glass and I’m going to go re watch this while I have a bit of a play myself! Thanks for another great video and happy New Year! 😀

@@CeriGriffiths Thx Geri. I seem to like the grid work on A3. It's big but it seems fitting. Going to give it a try on A4 however. Wishing you a good new year. I don't know if "happy" is a useful word. FYI I worked as a youth theatre maker in Gaza for over 30 years (to give a context). Just published a book of Gaza Watercolors. Will be showing it soon.
