- Noel Edmonds is back with his 'hoofer-doofer' at the ready, to test the small-screen knowledge of the SIMONS FAMILY from Penarth and the WELLS FAMILY from Leicester, as he launches this year's nationwide search for the Telly Addict champions of 1987

My dad was on telly addicts
Nice to see this again. Ty for the upload.
This a really good natured & enjoyable show. Shame it’s gone.
Nothing like it now.
Loved watching this back in the day
I loved telly addicts
I loved this programme. My late father was a vision engineer at Pebble Mill and worked on every series and I loved going in with him on rig days and sitting on the sofas.
Definitely think it should return with much the same format as this and not like the revamped version.
Used to love this it's one of those you wish had a new lease of life now
Please, please bring this back
Haven't seen this in years.Great show at the time.
Magnificent moustaches
This interesting bit of scheduling meant it kept Noel on Saturday Nights between the abrupt end to the Late Late Breakfast Show and the arrival of The Noel Edmonds Saturday Roadshow.
The 80s were full of ladies called Trish in maaaaassive glasses
Wish they bring it back.
I don't recall Telly Addicts being on on Saturdays, but there you are.
It sometimes started on a Saturday (in the Noel Edmonds' Late Late Breakfast Show/Saturday Roadshow slot) then continued on Monday or Tuesday for the remainder of the series.
Ah, okay. That makes sense.
Trish rocking the Dennis Taylor specs there...
Noel looks like anthea turner with a beard
Remember The Paine Family? They were unbeatable they were. from the first series.
Are you Welsh by any chance?
I remember them!
Yes I do ...they were a real Paine. !
1:45 Olivia Coleman in 80s specs.
Spot on!!
:-)
Haha I was sceptical until I saw her, 100% agree 😂
Great days!!!!
Omg good old noel omg he's in I'm a celeb now omg can't believe it has gone quick
I love Noel so much
Mike Smith didn't
Omg!!
Some host just have it
Noel was a great host and a great guy ...
Shame things went so wrong for him...
At least he still has his chopper...
Just clicked this is a Saturday. ( I thought what strange timing) I take it The Russ abbot show wasn't recorded?
For anyone else
5.20 Cartoon Time
5.45 Telly Addicts
6.15 Allo allo
6.50 Bobs Full house
7.25 Russ Abbot
7.55 casualty
9pm Last night of the proms
Yeah it doesn't feel quite right being on a Saturday does it.
No, the Russ Abbot show wasn't recorded, the recording finishes about 30 seconds into Bob's Full House
Thats a shame about Russ abbots, since nearly all the episodes are embargoed. I always thought Telly Addicts went out at 7pm on a Monday
It would move to Tuesdays and be replaced on Saturday by My Family and Other Animals.
Noel had a new show Whatever Next? on Mondays in late 87.
that one guy actually sniffed the wellies when he was handed them. Who does that?
His wife likes to see two things swing together in the middle😂oh matron!
Noel's first Telly Addicts post the demise of The Late Late Breakfast Show.
well atleast Noel wasnt dropping people from cranes in this
Your announcer is Peter Bolgar
How come the telly clips not shown 🤔
Oof, Noel’s white shoes!!
And of course CRAZY LIKE A FOX filmed a TV-Movie in England with Graham Chapman.
The budgets about 2...280k
Noel Edmonds was replaced by the man who despised him, Mike Smith!!!
Not really, Telly Addicts was always Noel's show (85-98 - yes that long). Mike Smith did That's Show Business (89-96), more or less a copy.
Slip on shoes and white socks...
Strange to think that everyone you see in this show is now dead
Nonsense
Most of those people in the starting credits are dead.
About 75% But it was 37 years ago.
Monday night on BBC1 7pm if I remember correctly, having survived first day back at school...another 4 days to go kind of feeling. Anyway, I can remember thinking who would want the idiot box addict accolade? Not something to be proud of.
It was on at the same time as The Krypton Factor on ITV
Tuesdays then Mondays. This episode went out on Saturday, then continued on Tuesdays. A new series for Noel called Whatever Next? was shown at 8.30pm on Mondays in late 87.
Noel Edmonds - The worst thing since sliced Hitler
Bit of an overstatement!
I remember this... Didn't remember it being this shit though.
