- Star's childhood unfolded north of Seattle in Everett WA, under the care of a grandmother ill-equipped to provide the nurturing she needed. Raised in a family grappling with substance addiction, Star acquired the survival skills needed in such a challenging environment from an early age. Her mother's sporadic presence meant days and weeks without even seeing her at times, while her father's absence was a constant throughout most of her life. When her father finally did come into her life when she was a teen, he sexually abused her.
Major trauma has been a constant them in Stars life. Despite recently breaking free from the chaos within her family, she found herself thrust into a new form of turmoil-the harsh reality of living on the streets of Seattle. She is a survivor and continues to navigate the streets of Seattle. This is part of her story.

As tragic as this is, it is fantastic you're exposing people to these realities. Many people with decent home lives don't even understand these kinds of struggles exist.

I'm looking for my 33yr old neice Shelbey in Seattle. Ballard. Burien. Downtown. She's homeless on the streets and Noone has heard from her in a year. We saw she got picked up in Feb but didn't even call her son on his bday in April. How do we know if she's even alive? 😢my heart is aching. Looking for Shelbey. God Bless these hurting and suffering.

When you hang with a certain group of people and they see you enjoying their company they are going to get you to try drugs and before you know it you are with them. Stay focused get in your right lane and keep going right.

She seem like she trynna find every bad thing in her life and blame it on that instead of just getting clean

Your perspective is the problem. Did you even listen to her? She’s just telling her story. She even states at one point about how “stupid” she was. Jesus. You think her experiences of abuse is an excuse? These things have physical, emotional, and psychological consequences
Anyone who has anything negative to say about her you have no right because she's giving us a small snippet of her life and when people go through traumatic sht then don't have a strong support network it can be a living nightmare. That's hard to overcome especially when you mix addiction into it.Ive been homeless and probably gone end up on the streets here soon so ik how it feels and what people go through and its usually people who never experienced homelessness and they have a strong support system with a good family who's the most judgemental thinking its soooo easy to overcome those streets.I pray you overcome this star if you ever read this because its light at the end of the nightmare I promise.please stay aware and don't let nobody take advantage of you.

Homeless or not She is a young person who deserves the same as ever other person does if not more , especially more due to her struggle.
