God, I miss this show! It was absolutely terrible yet amazing at the same time. It didn't stand a chance, but it was a hell of a lot of fun while it lasted
micfac08 LOVED the show... apparently it was most watched in other countries than the US. Countries outside the US tried to save it but as it was a American soap it wasn't happening. Eg like EastEnders and Coronation Street being most watched in other countries than the UK.
Funny too to see them mention Savannah so much--that was the closest thing to a hit primetime soap Spelling had at the time, and had a lot of good stuff, but it ended up lasting... what, 2 seasons?
NBC never has had a daytime soap accept for Days of Our Lives and Another World last more than a few years, Texas, Santa Barbara, Generations and Passions all failed miserably, They always put these new shows up against established soaps like, GH, AMC, ATWT GL. Nobody was going to watch these crap shows
Well generations and Another World and I think Santa Barbara did really well when it came to receiving awards they all did really well. Just a different sales pitch and better promotion could have helped them last. Ppl still talk about these shows. ATWT didn't get good until 2001 AMC Days was always ahead of AMC in the ratings I loved the NBC shows. I like to root for the underdog. Passions I didn't like at all. Was Definitely missing Another World. Generations should have lasted longer.

Yeah Aaron is the king of Primetime.Still miss him
I read in old interview low rating and nbc did not get long with spelling production
The cancellation of the show happened in the summer of 1999, but it’s final episode aired on 12/31/99. Don LaFontaine died in September 2008.
Why did they cancel it
Piotr Rutkowski it was because of the show’s low ratings
