In Korean, “Kkaeb” means regret, Korean people usually use “akkapda” to express the same feeling and according to Baekhyun’s extremely amazing diagram: akkapda -> akkaepda -> kkaepda -> kkaebsong, so “kkaebsong” was officially born to express the regret of Baekhyun
Baekhyun is... a gem. It is a pity that there is a side to him people don't appreciate enough. I mean, many EXOLs still see him as the "joker" and "mood maker" of the group but if you pay attention to him, you will know that he does that for people to be comfortable. Every person that has worked with him says the same. He is really smart and very attentive to how people around him are feeling. If the mood is down, he will do anything he can to make people smile. That is why when I heard that he was going to be SuperM's leader I got super excited! He really takes care of everyone and on interviews, he also makes sure everybody has the chance to speak. He also helps Lucas and Ten a lot, whenever they struggle with the language and he is super supportive of everyone. He is not only an amazing and hardworking singer, but also a super kind member and a great leader! :)
yesssss. he is someone with many sides and, despite being very open and naturally himself, I feel there is much hidden depth to him. Even after all these years, he still fascinates me and i'm always thinking I WISH I KNEW YOUR MIND. Definitely not just 'the joker' as you say. baekhyun's perceptive mind is top-notch. as much as you know about him, he still manages to remain a mystery.
yesss kyungsoo always says how baekhyun is actually the most serious in the group especially when it comes to his role and job as a singer. he's so passionate about everything he does its so admirable
People forget he has many skills. Being a hapkido black belt medalist takes discipline and fortitude. He was also a hapkido instructor. That lil fact in itself should say a lot about his leadership skills. He was able to learn piano quickly and the exos also say he's the fastest to learn new choreo. He's great at acting has a knack for being in variety shows and is constantly going to vocal lessons even when he's already the top vocalist in the industry. He lives up to his Genius Idol moniker to a tee.
If some people still only see him as a goofball bratty silly boy (that he absolutely is, that brat!) then it's a true shame because he's so much more than just a funny guy. The exos also say that he's actually pretty serious and quiet. You should watch their special dvd when they went to fiji for a photobook shoot. He was pretty mellow and subdued it shook me so much when i first watched it. It honestly made me love him more.
In exo cbx ladder too you can see his true introverted self when he says he's only hype for like 3 hours and then he needs to recharge while chen can maintain a reasonable energy level the whole day. While minseok and jongdae were still up havin a nightcap baek was already under his blankie complaining they were being loud lmao!
Anyway sorry for the ramble i just really really love him and i'm so happy people are getting to see more of this side of him. Damn i'm getting teary. I'm just so proud of him. I love him! Aaah! Okok i'll stop now. Lol.

Just wanted to add (very late) that I love your comment. His depths get ignored, partly due to the way idols are marketed but also just due to the fact that we tend to see other humans as just one thing, in one category. Everyone contains multitudes.
Baekhyun is truly brilliant and deeply talented. His members know exactly how much energy he gives to being the entertainer... and then he stays in his home for days cause he needs the recharge (perfect example of introvert energy). Jongdae once said that Baekhyun is very mature and he that can be very bold and holds strong opinions. And there are also those rare glimpses when we see him defend his members (when he gets ticked off it is a sight to behold). He is very perceptive and wise and multiple members from Suho to Kyungsoo to Chanyeol to Minseok have also mentioned it at times. It just goes under the radar.
Taeyong once said that Baekhyun just gets "possessed by the spirit of entertainment" sometimes. hahahaha Baekhyun really does give so much to make members, fans and staff comfortable and raise the mood. And all the staff I have ever heard speaking about him talk about his professionalism and how he is so gracious.
Ramble on I say :) Baekhyun is the best and I love to hear him praised for the many many ways that he is a genius ;)
I think the most "annoying" would be baekhyun but when jongdae and chanyeol are with him they all become annoying together
This is so true the beagle line egg each other on especially Baekhyun if he gets a laugh it’s over he will keep going I love their friendship I think it pretty entertaining to watch
the beagle line is a loveable mess.
You can see baekhyuns true self when he is doing solo stuff like his showcase for city lights or his solo interviews and photoshoots. He's shy and calm and introverted and awkward around strangers
But when he's with those who are close to him it's just a whole different story
And bc we've mostly seen him on camera and with exo members we are used to his joker moodmaker hyper active personality which IS him but just a part of him.

Baekhyun has always been caring and supported his members well in EXO. Kyungsoo said Baek is the center of the group who protects every EXOs and he is thankful for that.
You really need to see that side of Baekhyun in EXO's variety shows.

Yes! Baekhyun's my bias (actually be might be my ult. Bias) and I'm so proud of him. He is really mature and knows when to be serious and when to be funny.
He definitely shows his silliness more, and that's when people misunderstand him and think his is just a prankster. In SuperM he is really showing more of his seriousness and I love it!
4:38, it was in EXO’s showtime that they went inside like a horror house. Baekhyun invented the word Kkaebsong and said that you could use it in any kind of situation, hence they edited his face saying kkaebsong from when he entered the house, because he was screaming really really loud.

i feel the same way about seeing baekhyun in a new light!! i've been a fan of exo for a lot of years now and seeing him as a leader of superm makes me so incredibly extra proud. his leader presence is so subtle, like he would always give the members their limelight but is 100% ready to jump in and help them out, etc. not that he wasn't amazing before superm, but it rly just shows why he is so well-loved. he's just so humble and genuine, and i think that is what makes him a rly good leader.

Leader Baekhyun is a different personality than EXO Baekhyun I think he doesn’t get enough credit for that as well he really tries to be the Hyung and take care of the other members and he still makes jokes but I think it’s just to make the other members more comfortable IMO and he’s doing an awesome job especially with all the unnecessary SuperM drama but yeah in EXO Baekhyun is such a class clown he can’t help himself he has to do whatever pops into his head like a little kid love him so much I think every member had their moments of being a pain to the other members but yeah Chanyeol and Baekhyun are the most aggravating to the other members especially the 2 together
Yes he’s a really good leader! I’d already seen this side of him during Kokobop promotions when 4 members had a vlive mukbang thing! It was with Kyungsoo and Sehun, who always are a bit shy and not particularly talkative, and Chanyeol, who was too busy wolfing down ssams to really do anything else lmao. So Baekhyun ended up kinda leading the whole discussion, cracking jokes and making sure everyone had their turn to speak, especially Kyungsoo. It was honestly adorable and made me see him a completely different light
People usually watch only funny moments of EXO, their MVs and Performances, and in the guides, the person who makes those often put the funny or cute moments as well, so i think thats why sometimes many fans find hard to believe that some members like Baekhyun can be mature or responsible enough to take the leadership or talk about serious stuff. But like many people, he is multifaceted, and put effort in his job/career, as a person, he said he enjoy to make people happy around him, and he said he never would like be a serious person.
I think the behind scenes, and personal interviews where he can be more relaxed is when you can see these other sides of him
they call him the genius idol for a reason, people always see that he's funny and all, but they don't know him well he'a such a good leader & mood maker he's so smart whenever i see an interviews of him i'll be like WOW he's such an amazing human being, he's my inspiration ✨
Actually, EXO members always were saying how Baekhyun is different behind the stage. He is very smart, serious and caring. If you watched EXPlOration DOT, Suho repeated it again.
About helping members, Baekhyun was the one who always helped Chinese members. Tao, Lay talked about it lot. I guess, SM artists also knows about Baekhyun's real personality. Cause, when Super M debuted, Taemin said that, they all agreed, that Baekhyun would be great leader.
About those, who boycotting Super M. Some, literally using this group openly hate him. Baekhyun really has a lot of haters. Others, mad at SM cause of EXO mistreatment. Funny that, SM always mistreated EXO, but...

Even with Exo members, from the very debut he's really calm and wise and tries to make them comfortable (hence him being the mood maker). One small example is he didn't mind being chosen the least handsome one because he knew some exo members will get hurt or insecure...but ofc that's quite subtle..and so many other moments.
EXO are family and know each other so well, and i wish people won't trash their bond and trust Baekhyun more. And yes he was worried about being a leader himself, but he talked with Suho and he's amazing just as you said...it melts my heart seeing him trying to take care of them!
I think that if people don't want to support him and Kai...just ignore and move on, but don't spread hate, that's all i ask..
Anyway he's my bias from the beginning but i keep being surprised by him even now T^T

He came up with kkaebsong word during their first variety show "EXO's Showtime". They went to a horror house and in the last episode of the show members where asked which part of the show they want to go back.
Baekhyun was screaming so much when they went to the horror house so he want to go back on that episode and instead of screaming he will say "kkaebsong" (I think it's a short term that he is embrassed).

And you know what really strikes me? (sorry for super late comment) Baekhyun didn't train together with the other EXO members for as long (and nearly didn't debut). He was one of the last confirmed members. He actually used to feel he hadn't "earned" the recognition and accolades as much as the other members had. But he worked so damn hard and instead of just staying on the edges of things, he gives his all to make people feel comfortable with him and has become one of the solid emotional centres of EXO. He really values his friendships and is incredibly supportive of the people he cares about.
And yet some people still want to pigeon-hole him as the annoying, hyper joker of the group (and he works to show that side of him). Of course, he loves to laugh and his comedic timing is immaculate. He does it all in service of entertaining fans and helping those around him to have a lot of fun. But his members, both in EXO and SuperM, trust him absolutely and there is a reason for that, he is solid as a rock at his centre.
The man is a treasure and truly underestimated sometimes

About what you said at the end : I respectfully disagree. The reason why a lot of EXO-Ls were mad at SuperM was because it was almost a given EXO was going to be pushed even further to the side, and it showed. There's such a vast difference between the amount of content and promotions SuperM get when you compare that to the crumbs EXO has been receiving way BEFORE enlistments even took place, and as a fan it's only reasonable to want the same for your faves. EXO's potential was endless and SM could've extended the group's peak by simply playing their cards right (e.g better fan content during and in between comebacks, more group promotions). The reason why EXO-Ls were fuming over superm was not because of the group itself but rather because of the cumulation of all the things SM has deprived us with in terms of EXO content.
Just an example :
- SuperM announces "Super One" project : announced the 5th August, promo clips already rolling in, 52 days of just the pre-drop hype period, excluding likely subsequent promos.
- Pre-release period for Obsession, Self-Portrait, Delight : all < 30 days
- And then there's EXO-SC going from release date news to album drop in *17 days*
Then some people are going to say SuperM is handled by Capitol. But this group, which is supposed to promote in America is getting to perform on music shows and guesting on Knowing Brother for a pre-release, while EXO-SC wasn't sent to any variety show and they didn't even attend music shows with a full album. Like do we realise that sechan's promotion is them promoting restaurants. That's what make EXO-Ls mad. Because they feel like SuperM's promos are EXO's missed opportunities.

And for EXO-Ls that are stuck in the cognitive dissonance of "I hate SuperM but I have to support kaibaek" Just understand that social media interactions are literally one of the measures to estimate the demand a project has. More interactions is just gonna make SM believe people want that group. that's literally how these things work. You can't just support kaibaek and at the same time say "i hate superm" because by supporting kaibaek you're indirectly (even tough you don't want to) supporting SuperM. Selective support doesn't work unless you're supporting a solo project, SM's bank account can't tell which member's version you bought or who gets the most rts, it just sees the group doing numbers which is motivating enough for them to keep pushing. Now that you know that just do what you want 🧐

I adore you lmao You picked up on what a wonderful leader Baekhyun is for SuperM when others just see him as the goofball leader or the funny leader but in truth Baekhyun was the best choice as leader for SuperM. I also appreciate your words about SuperM and not having enough support. It's so weird why fans are so against it yet embraced EXO-CBX and EXO-SC. Nobody is leaving the respective group to be in SM so I truly don't understand why fans have rats stuck up their asses about it. Annoying because you can tell, Baekhyun and the rest of SM love being together as a group. They deserve better but some fans think they know what's best for them than the individuals who are actually in charge of their own careers

I've been an EXO-L for 6 years now. My answer for the most annoying member is....yep....still Baekhyun!
Hear me out though, I totally understand when you say you don't know Baekhyun the most, because man it took me 3 years of being an exol to have a glimpse of who Baekhyun was! During my early stages of being an EXO-L, I kind of had a love-hate relationship with him. Eg you know how there's that one fuckboy who's also the class clown that everyone just crushes on because they're popular? That was my impression of Baek. I liked him cus he was the funniest for me in EXO, but then I told myself nooo don't fall for his annoying ass. But I was wrong.
The reason why it's so hard for many of us to understand him is- there's just soooo many sides to Baekhyun. I think that's why he's really lovable. And I'd say out of all the members, throughout their career thus far, baekhyun's been keeping it real with the fans and trying to close the gap between idol-fan since the very beginning. He makes a lot of effort to communicate with us. I'd say that's also a big reason why he arguably has the biggest solo fanbase..He's really down-to-earth, very humble, very smart and he's humorous. On top of that he's talented asf? His personality really be an A+ for many.
Yes, Baekhyun is annoying and funny. He jokes around and acts foolish but I think his deeper intention is to make the atmosphere lighthearted and less awkward for everyone- for his members and fans to be more comfortable. This is why he can be a good leader, he's always been very attuned to how people feel. He's actually really mature. I think previously before both Chen and Xiumin had mentioned that Baekhyun is humorous but off stage he's different. When members are down or need help, he can have deep talks with them and give good advice..and they were really amazed and grateful for that. Suho also said multiple times, Baekhyun is a member he can rely on the most for emotional support, saying that he always has the ability to cheer him on when it gets tough for him as the leader. Suho expressed that he envies baekhyun's carefree nature and optimism to life. Hearing this, you can see how amazing this man really is and the impact he has on the people around him.
I'm not trying to brag about him and put the other members in a bad light. All I'm saying is that there's so many sides to Baekhyun and even for me, being a fan for 6 years now, is still seeing new sides to him. His growth and maturity is really amazing to see, especially for those fans who've been here since the beginning of the journey. He's still the same Baekhyun over the years- but somehow there's still little bits of new things to discover and love him for.

He has many sides to him I’m sure. We all do. He’s very caring and a great leader. It’s so interesting to me how EXO all seem to be introverts. I honestly don’t really like superm’s music but I’m not wishing failure on them or hating. They should definitely be able to do things, artistically that they enjoy. But I dislike SM more and more as time goes on. I understand other’s frustrations when every other group get basic things like accessible reality shows and music show and variety promotions. The blame for that is all on SM and I think people shouldn’t forget that. As they debut new groups they stop promoting all of their senior artists. Or they don’t bother because they don’t think they have to. Something to keep in mind since a new Sm girl group is possibly debuting this year.

I think Baekhyun annoys the members the most. In previous years I feel like it was Baekhyun and Chanyeol, but Chanyeol has chilled a bit and Sehun has reached a new level. But Baekhyun still remains.

I think Baekhyuni is the most annoying because He acts the fool just make others comfortable. His recent growth is amazing. It's lovely to see how other idols looking up to him. I'm super glad Taeyong got to know Baekhyun. All idols should get to know him.😅 Way Baekhyun interact with fans is a nother level as well ..in short he is a amazing wonderful person. (Ps. I think Chanyeol and Junmyeon are probably the most annoying to the members Junmyeon in the way that apparently he nags at them. I think the members find Baekhyun more funny than anything else but Ksoo did say that sometimes he’s too much. Probs Chanyeol and Baekhyun. Most people just see Baek as a loud extrovert but he always says that he’s introverted and doesn’t go outside a lot, think he’s just more of a positive energy for everyone.
Hmmm... Chanyeol. The most annoying, I mean. I think everyone takes Baekhyun as the noisiest and annoying, but Suho said that things don't bother him that much if they come from Baekhyun because he does it for the sake of fun. Chanyeol is more competitive, so sometimes people don't take it well coming from him.
And honestly, we've kinda known that Baekhyun was gonna be a leader since the interviews/sessions during the The War promotions. Xiumin took over one and he was clearly uncomfortable, and the other one got delegated to Baekhyun, and after seeing both of them, we kinda knew he was gonna be leading EXO if/when Suho wasn't around.
About people not wanting to support SuperM, it's confusing cause even if you felt that way how can you still do after seeing how much fun they have in that group? especially exo-ls because Kai and Baek especially look really happy being with their juniors and bestie Taemin so I don't get it

Baekhyun is definitely the most annoying member, although I think Chanyeol comes in second place (and when they're together, look out). I have such love for Baekhyun as a person though. I always liked him, but he became my ultimate bias more recently and I'm just so proud of the person he's grown into. He really is more than just a goofball like some people think and he doesn't get nearly enough credit for that, and EXO have said so themselves on multiple occasions that Baekhyun has a very serious side to him and more to him than most people see. It's really a shame, but I hope more and more people are learning that he's more than just a funny person. He is so self-aware and also aware of others around him, and he seems like a very selfless person when he's with people he cares about. That's why they voted for him to be leader. I'm so fucking proud of him because he's doing amazing and I hope that he knows that. I hope that he knows there are plenty of people out here supporting him and feeling grateful for him, even though there are so many people who are being mean for no reason. If there's any one thing I could ever get him to understand, it's that people know how hardworking and kind he is and it's not being taken for granted. I really hope he feels the appreciation he deserves in life. He's a good boy if I've ever seen one.

The way I see it, he always does dorky and funny things but it's not always due his mischievous and attention seeker side. It's sometimes to lessen the pressure around, sometimes to divert attention from an uncomfortable topic, to attract attention to himself if others are not able to explain something, of course annoy other members to keep it entertaining to the fans and many more. He was even regarded as genius idol at a point. But it's sad that some people make horrible assumptions only to justify their dislike towards him.

The most annoying would be Baek and Sehun. People really underestimate Sehun's annoyingness lmao. Jongdae is sometimes regarded as annoying but he's really just loud but he tries to stay out of everyone's hair. Chanyeol is also sometimes called annoying but he's a people pleaser so he has his on and off moments. The grandpa line also tend to be really annoying [to their fellow members and their fans] with their dad jokes, so Xiumin, Suho, and Lay as well. LMAO Xiumin would make a TERRIBLE leader. I love him, he's wonderful in so many other areas, but he's too shy to be a leader. There were several times when Suho was absent so the members immediately looked to Xiumin AND HE WAS SO LOST poor baby. In those cases, the members with the best leadership skills are Baekhyun and Chanyeol [proven in previous occasions]. Kai has more of a mentor/teacher mentality. He does better with juniors and children. Lay also has really great leadership skills but has difficulties communicating in Korean so he usually stays quiet.
