  • Mike & Marty Strommer, along with the rest of their Explorer Troop, hiked from one end of Isle Royale to the other back in 1967. It was a great wilderness adventure with many life lessons learned.
    Isle Royale National Park is a national park of the United States consisting of Isle Royale, along with more than 400 small adjacent islands and the surrounding waters of Lake Superior, in Michigan. It is 45 miles long and 9 miles wide, with an area of 206.73 sq miles, making it the fourth-largest lake island in the world. In addition, it is the largest natural island in Lake Superior.
    Isle Royale National Park is known for its timber wolf and moose populations, which are studied by scientists investigating predator-prey relationships in a closed environment.
