    Hello Jose, greetings from England. This is actually a 103 model, the "economy" version of the 109 (both used the same case and #4 soundbox). The 109 additionally has an automatic end of record brake, controlled by the tone arm. Also, the speed control plate is half moon shaped not rectangular as yours (and in later instances took the form of a control wheel incorporating a speed indicator needle). The 109 also used the #32 double spring motor (the arrangement fitted in your Spanish horn model) whereas this 103 will have a smaller single spring unit.The model number was usually shown on a circular disc fitted where the second (back) needle cup appears on yours. Regards Dave.

      OMG! I have a 103 that I have had for well over a decade. It was my first gramophone purchase. After reading your reply above I looked and found that circular disc with the model number (103) and the number 20483 which i guess is the serial number?

      @@phylliskates8352 Yep, that's the serial number. I had a fairly early 103 numbered 8357 so yours is towards the end of production, circa early 1930s.

      @@vintagesoundz8568, Please tell me, how to understand what model, I only got the motor, it has the inscription motor number 410?

    • @vintagesoundz8568
      @vintagesoundz8568 4 місяці тому

      @@kik_8758 The HMV 410 motor was used extensively in the 101 portable, not the 103 table model, this had a 426 motor.
