For whoever it matters, in FBA (Fulfilment by Amazon) one doesn't have to maintain the stock that they want to sell, we just have to place the stock in an Amazon suggested warehouse. Post that whenever an order is placed, Amazon takes care of the packaging and delivery.
(PS: This is my experience selling books on Amazon via FBA, not sure about the other categories)
