Don't forget the 7th mission type: Get shit on by The Shrieker who might be slightly weaker Goal: Stand there and take it for four rounds, maybe kill that log for goodies Reward: That really good trinket that bloody crow stole and four free afflictions!
i tried him a couple of times and the times i just stalled buffed and heal i only got afflictions, when i went full dps on the nest or shrieker i actually got 3 positive quirks, can anyone confirm if dealing dmg increase the chance of positive quirks?.
Try rolling Man at arms - Occultist - Bounty Hunter - Leper vs Prophet. Do a shield with leper + get some PROT on him and MAA + stack dodge on BH + protect Occultist with MAA + do buffs and debuffs every turn with everyone 'cept the BH. He gets to swing at wood. This is one scenario where leper's useful. In general lepers are pretty damn good vs bosses, provided you have some ACC buffs for them or dodge debuffs on enemies. If you have crit buffs on top of those - your P1 leper turns into a trash shredding machine, where enemies are like a conveyor that rolls towards him and gets hewn to pieces. And those sweet-ass 50+ crits from chops - oh boy.
I've been playing DD for 3-4 months and now I notice the number of spikes in the mission circle icon indicate the lenght of the mission itself o.o it's a very subtle but neat detail
@@silent_stalker3687 What is there to elaborate on? There are 3 types of missions - short, medium and long. Short are a simple circle, lowest reward and no wood. Medium are a circle with 3 spikes, mid reward and 1 campfire. Long have 5 spikes, are the longest, give the biggest reward and have 2 campfires.
It sucked cause I lost both my Crusaders, my best Bounty Hunter and Plague Doctor... I thought I could handle him man! I sound like I'm Afflicted with irrational
Good stuff. I'd have thought one reason you'd select a mission is because you need to level people; I've seen you make that exact comment when playing. I hope you'll do a quick guide vid on levelling your party, the when and why to level and how to optimise (obviously). Cheers
I also want to point out that on Stygian mode it's preferable to go on longer missions, in my opinion, since you have a time limit and you want to gather as much recources and as much XP each week Also, medium and long missions can be used to remove diseases for free during camping, if you have the right skills
For some reasons there are classes with gr8 trinkets and classes with shit trinkets. Almost every grave robber trinket worth it's price in gold, and the antiquarian with two of her trinkets is almost unkillable. And then there is the Crusader, who's class trinkets are garbage, in my opinion.
Yeah, I think the devs do a lot of thier balance tweaking with the trinkets. You see some amazing trinkets on some of the less popular and weaker characters.
Generally, half of the rooms in scout missions gonna be empty, and the layout of mission itself usually has more curios. Scout missions are good for farming gold with antiquarians (maybe even two of them, just for extra gold in each stack). Kill missions are obviously unsuitable for that (you can't drag useless antiquarians around). Gather missions are equally unsuitable for farming, because there will be 3 pieces of %something% that fill your inventory space.
Jonah Azzopardi S tier: Vestal Hound (must bring for ez wins) A tier: Man at arms, Hellion, Flagellant (Amazing but not required) B tier: Occultist, Highwayman, Plague Doctor (pretty good) C tier: Arbalest, Abomination, Bounty Hunter, Highwayman (situationally great, but not for every occasion) D tier: crusader, jester [post nerf] grave robber (still not useless but has classes that do its job better) Greed tier: Antiquarian (phat stacks) God tier: Leper. (Slab of meat that does damage sometimes)
i think the jester is stronger bc he has a super strong stress heal. Just put him in position one and use finale and spam stress heal when needed. So my best party is Jester, Hellion, Bounty Hunter, Vestal
Yeah, the Jester would probably be somewhere between B-teir and A-tier back when he could constantly one shot position 3, and while he still has dirk stab and slice off (very solid abilities) for dps his finale cripples his bread and butter. A crusader is now better because despite the very limited range, is able to stun lock position 1-2, has solid damage for 2 space mobs, a stress heal that takes you off deaths door, and enough hp to tank many hits. So in regard to the spam stress heal, Crusader can do it pretty well and stunning is extremely powerful in comparison to Jester's regular stress heal.
Thanks for the videos! I'm glad I found your channel. There's so little good information on Quirks, leveling dungeons, and getting heroes over that Level 3 hump. Keep up the good work!
Does anyone know how secret room scouting works? I recently lost all my head trinkets and ive been scouting 100% of medium and long dungeons without finding the secret room.
That's a really fun idea for a challege run. Girls or Guys Night out: You may only use characters of the respective sex. It works well because both genders have a primary healer. Of the two options, the Girls Night out is the tougher challenge since there are simply less female characters to work with and no stress healer.
When a boss appears can you ignore it and continue to level up the dungeon to make the next boss appear? i.e. Do you have to beat apprentice bosses to unlock the veteran and champion variants?
Filthy, why would you ever pick a Short or Medium mission over a Long, assuming similar rewards? You want the most loot/xp per week so I don't see why I wouldn't want to play mainly long missions.
"level one bosses tend to be really easy"
listen pal, the hag ate my whole squad the first time I fought her
LOL
.TierZoo You’re here.?
Easy is relative.
Git gud scrub. Jk. Just take arb, hellion,HWM and vestal
@@FabB98 This is old but taking arbalest is a dangerous gamble against hag (although in higher levels, she might just have the hp to tank the pot)
6th mission type: Get shit on by The Shrieker.
Goal: Stand there and take it for four rounds.
Reward: Four free afflictions!

Jay Blodget Badabum badabim a 8th mission type: Kill Boss with a new flavor: Kill Vvolf NOW or lose weeks of progress on your Hamlet.
You can destroy the nest, it gives you free trapezohedrons. Too bad you have only four rounds to do so, and the fucking nest has a lot of health.
i tried him a couple of times and the times i just stalled buffed and heal i only got afflictions, when i went full dps on the nest or shrieker i actually got 3 positive quirks, can anyone confirm if dealing dmg increase the chance of positive quirks?.
benkeiaa kant The only thing that increases your chances at a good quirk are killing the Shrieker before it escapes.
The best missions are the ones you don't need to use a leper for.
you dont need to use a leper for anything
You don't need to use anything BUT the Leper, I think is what you meant.
Yeah, good luck with that quad Leper comp over there.

I love how thorough you're being, and engaging with what your community wants. Keep up the great work!
I'm a shameless trinket hunter. Also the free sanitarium mission is an automatic go regardless of what else is going on.
Unless there are wolves at the gate
I've been playing DD for 3-4 months and now I notice the number of spikes in the mission circle icon indicate the lenght of the mission itself o.o it's a very subtle but neat detail
wait what do you mean the length :0
TwiCaCaX the size of the dungeon + the number of campfires you get (short, medium or long)
Arty23
Elaborate?
@@silent_stalker3687 What is there to elaborate on? There are 3 types of missions - short, medium and long.

Care to explain?
Hey Filthy, long time lurker of your videos here. Please do a "Quirks to lock/remove" video!
Keep up the good work.
I found the Shambler altar, I lost all my units but my new just hired Crusader survived 8 death door's in a row
It sucked cause I lost both my Crusaders, my best Bounty Hunter and Plague Doctor... I thought I could handle him man! I sound like I'm Afflicted with irrational
Have you seen the guy that beats DD4 by week 16? It's insane
Good stuff.
I'd have thought one reason you'd select a mission is because you need to level people; I've seen you make that exact comment when playing.

A trinket guide would be cool! You could split it up by class specific/general by rarity
Can't wait for the trinkets guides
Urke same

Crusader has -50% healing +15% damage. A flat +15% damage is amazing, and -1 healing is basically irrelevant because you didn't bring him for healing.
Yeah, I think the devs do a lot of thier balance tweaking with the trinkets. You see some amazing trinkets on some of the less popular and weaker characters.
the free sanitarium is the best reward (if you have 3 slots), you can end up getting treatment worth 40k+ gold, for free.
5:33 whoa

Do a character tier list already! Before someone else does!

The leper is not a benevolent god. They say he giveth but he mostly taketh.

Great video. I hope you make more guides on party compositions, tactics and whatnot.
thanks! I didn't realize you can target town events
im at 400k gold at week 28 decided to focus this on my early game so that i wont need to think about it late game 5% interest is awesome.
It was new info for me, I had never realised that some town events were rewards, always looking on the right of the screen.
Thanks for the videos! I'm glad I found your channel. There's so little good information on Quirks, leveling dungeons, and getting heroes over that Level 3 hump. Keep up the good work!

just alot of scouts really
Any Cove mission while having negative quirks
Filthy, we all love your guide videos. Keep doing what you do!
5:30 demon just came through his throat
also very happy at that humor
party assembly video!
Thank you so much for these videos. They're so helpful.
2:45 Does Big Boss use automatic weapons in Darkest Dungeon as well? If so, that is horrifying.
any tips to not get 6 different diseases on the beginning of the dungeon?
actually i did pick up a few tips, so thank you!
ty so much for this information, only found right here
I got 21 resolve levels on a highwayman who, if I remember correctly, was level 3 and instantly became lvl 6
you might be thinking of radiant mode. There is bonus exp on radiant mode and heros take less to level up.
love these guides, although you can think about working with a video editor to up the production value :)
MOST EXCELLENT!
Dammit, Filthy, you make me wanna love you and your channel! *Getting quirk - nymphomania*
you should do a how dangerous is X for the enemies in the game
I wonder if Filthy will ever be interested in having a run with only men or only women on his town roster.
That's a really fun idea for a challege run. Girls or Guys Night out: You may only use characters of the respective sex. It works well because both genders have a primary healer. 6 females and one of them is the Antiquarian...
Niiiice thumbnail XD

+lunkoman yes
Thanks!
Your "How good is ..." series is fantastic so far.
Filthy, why would you ever pick a Short or Medium mission over a Long, assuming similar rewards? You want the most loot/xp per week so I don't see why I wouldn't want to play mainly long missions.
Because sometimes a short or medium rewards a really good trinket you want and the long one doesn't.
character levels? and the xp that it gives, sometimes you dont necessarily want to level up the characters
thank you for your help.
