I have the yellow 1 and I'm in Ireland 🇮🇪 and on shortwave I'm pickn up loads of stations it's a fantastic little Radio .Cheers for all ur Efforts brother. GED in Ireland 🇮🇪
Funny how you mentioned the Flavoradio here as I got a stong Flavoradio vibe when I first saw the three colors together whenthey were announced. I bought the orange and the green and absolutely love them. I find this radio quite sensitive and agree with you, that it takes a light touch ti tune it. I find that part of the charm as I have learned how to get the most out if. Yet another fine radio from XHDATA. I also have the D-608WB and D-219.
That is a nicely-sized radio with the 80s styling. As you noted, it is probably intended for voice as opposed to music. The receiver has limited selectivity, yet for something that small it isn't going to be a C Crane dxing monster :) It is a nice reminder of a simpler time, where I could buy a similar radio.from Radio Shack, Sears ir Montgomery Ward and catch a baseball game while throwing balls against a wall and fielding them.
I still have my 2 Sony walkman radios from the 80's. One just AM/FM & one with the cassette. Both work great. ( Made to last ). Thanks for the Honest review!
I really like my D220. For under $20, it's a good way to introduce a new person to Shortwave radio programming. Like you mention in the video, you really have to tune slowly. You can tune right past even the stronger stations on shortwave if you don't know what to listen for. I use mine to listen to WRMI on 5950 at night.
@@FarpointFarms - My D-220 arrived today. Within an hour of using it, I'm absolutely hooked on shortwave. I'm in Myrtle Beach, SC, USA, and I was listening to a station out of Spain. With just the built-in antenna too! Amazing! I've never really used a shortwave radio before. I've owned one, but never understood what it was (I think I still have it around here somewhere). I've learned a lot watching your channel (and a few others), and appreciate your videos so much. I know I'll be spending a lot more money on bigger/more sophisticated radios going forward. The QODOSEN DX-286 looks interesting. I already ordered a shortwave reel antenna to use with this radio to see how much more I can hear. Needless to say, I'm really excited. I'm sure you can tell. Thanks so much, man!
Looks like a good radio ... Hey, FWIW, I'm in North Texas listening to 9455 KHz at 0452 Central. I am on a long wire attached to the Retekess TR113 listening to RTE Radio-1 out of Dublin Ireland and its louder and stronger than my local FM stations 15 miles away. The Solar storms of 23-Sept-24 are living up to the rumors!
The size of that radio might be good to listen in an emergency bug out situation. The smaller radios even baofeng UV5R and even radios like that one uses rf sampling technology (radio on a chip). (( Extremely small & cheap)) But definitely useable. The problem with older ele tronics as it ages is the vallue of componets change with time. The changes finally reach a point where the radio doesn't work anymore. Surface mount technology is more stable but its typically not repairable either with consumer electronics price point. Good video as always 73 and GOD bless Earnest K5EWM.
Were there any broadcasts coming out of Louisiana during the hurricane? If there were any situations that would necessitate backup comms, I’d think a hurricane would be up near the top of the list.
MW does not stand for Middle Wave. It is an abbreviation for Medium Wave which most folks only know commonly as the AM band. Post date 10/2/24.........
Found and fixed the issue. The internal IP address changed randomly on the laptop. I've updated the server to reflect it. The BBS and Shoutcast feeds are back online!
Mine was around 18 bucks when i got it and i find it very poor all round. The D219 beats its socks off at half the price. Thanks for the review, though.

Prayers for your nation😊
@corpo33--- Thanks for the feedback on it- Glad to hear that you are able to pick up some stations
@@FarpointFarms I will do a video one of the evenings and post it .
I got one. Great for the beach, hiking and what not. I never travel with expensive radios, so this is a cool choice.
You are smart about the expensive radios, it would be a shame to ruin on by accident
love that it has SW.
All stuffed in that tiny package too. Pretty cool!
You could actually carry that radio in a pocket while on a hike. Or easily fits in a glove box like you said.
I just got mine and it's cool except for the earphone jack is on the side making it difficult for pocket use, better if it was on top.
Perfect for that- I agree about the jack on the side- it would be better on top
I ordered one last week and it's a good little radio 📻
I agree that it is great for the cost
Sir kindly give address to order one small radio .is that good which you have recieved ?

The 219 is a great radio, I liked the yellow color they offered it in.
Very nice. Thank you
You're welcome
@@FarpointFarms Where do they fit the tubes😊?

Agreed. It's the only flaw it has.
In black for $10.21 with discount.... you can't beat that with a stick.
With prices today- That is a huge bargin
That's really cool
It really is
Just ordered one...for the price and nice demonstration
Glad I could show it off.
Nice. Just ordered one in green with your link.
Awesome, thank you!
@FarpointFarms - Absolutely! You're welcome, and thank YOU!

Take it out side with a ten foot wire and try it again. You will find a big difference. Have fun

it really is
How can I order from India please give details

Hurricanes usually bring Local AM stations alive with live feeds, news, and info. SW is more for global info.
How do you find the battery life in this radio?
It lasted about 20 hours on a set of batteries.
MW does not stand for Middle Wave. It is an abbreviation for Medium Wave which most folks only know commonly as the AM band. Post date 10/2/24.........
And yet, you and every single other person knows exactly what I meant.
Did you shut down The Midnight Cafe feed? Haven't been able to access the stream lately.
Thanks for the heads up, I'll give it a look. Check back tonight.

Awesome. Up in Michigan. I listen to the streams randomly while I'm out working late at night.
I'd bet that Panasonic is from the 80's or 90's
It is very similar

For a pocket radio, I think it does a pretty good job.
Dope. The Joe Biden Davos talk was just about to drop the new world order plan 😂 nifty little thing
Shortwave is the place to find the wildest things.
thats not from the 60s sorry
