Showing failures, successes, how-To's, tips and tricks all in one. Keep up the good work. I hope all the viewers like it to. Stay awesome.

    Try gluing a thin piece of sand paper on the magnets. It will help prevent them from sliding as long as the weight is not too much for the magnets strength. Just a thought

    Use a cloud drive like Google drive on both computers. That way you won't have to email the files to yourself every time, they'll just be there in the cloud drive.

    Hey Matt, I was wondering what software you use to edit your videos, and what you use to create thumbnails? You do a really good job jumping from screen to screen, and adding text. Also on your thummbnails you often crop yourself or tools over your backgound picture. I use mostly phone apps, its not nearly as nice as yours

    This is all well and good. But I still can not get my small CNC to talk to my computer. I used Carvco program and did a layout for a name. When I tried to send it to the computer nothing happened. Did a video chat with Garrett Fromm but he could not help me either. So trying to look for a class somewhere near me to take. Ron USCG RET

    First HUGE THANK YOU!! I’m a devoted follower. New CNC user and your videos have really inspired me. About transferring your files. I’m sure you have a Gmail account. Did you know it also comes with could storage. You could save your files to your Google drive and then download it or even better setup google drive for desktop on both computers and you instantly have access to the files on any laptop or device when you log in to your account. It’s how I transfer all my files. In addition it’s in the cloud so you have backups.

    I had a student design a corner clamp for our x carve so the lower left corner 0 0 is always pretty close to the same spot. We 3d printed it out of ABS so if a bit accidentally gets into it, it's no big deal. I'm trying to convince the principal that we need a shaper origin for bigger projects. Teaching engineering to high school students is fun.

    I just use remote desktop to log on to my laptop in the shed from my desk inside the house and do all the work that way. I open everything directly on the shop desktop and get everything done remotely. Then go out and start it directly from the shop laptop. A bit easier than emailing yourself. Just a suggestion for anyone looking for an easy way to manage multiple PC setups like this.

      Thanks. It will flatten wood. The cut area is about 29 x 29 inches. It would have to be a rather small table to flatten tables.

    On that "comb" looking piece, don't you want to cut on the outside instead of inside? Cutting on the inside would make the openings .25" plus the width of your bit on either side of the opening.

    • @kwilliams2239
      @kwilliams2239 2 роки тому

      He set the width of the slot to exactly what he wanted rather than the width of the clamps so he cut on the inside to get the final size he programmed.

    One of the casualties of the Ukraine war is there is an embargo on birch plywood (because it comes from Russia). Makes it tough if you want CNC manufactured modules for your model trains. These are not complex. One has to cut slots and tabs so it fits together. Easy for me to say.
