I first discovered this very talented group in my sophomore year at The Ohio State University 1961…I sent their first album to a sweetheart, Mary Nash Ginn, and it’s so amazing how quickly the years flow gently away…fortunately I was able to see them at the Turn of the Century nightclub in Denver, on their annual tour…sadly only Tony Butella remains, from the original group….thanks for the beautiful memories you gave us…
nothing better than being with your high school sweetheart in 1964 sitting in a car on top of a hill in Texas listening to this song and knowing you were going to be with her the rest of your lives.....48 years later...still together
songs like this always bring good memories, I'm 33 and yet I like songs from the 50's and the 60's, maybe because my parents played songs like this when my brother and I were growing up. Thanks to YT and people like you who uploaded immortal classics.
Phil....next week is when I see The Lettermen here in Indiana....back to listening to your songs this week!!.....This has to be one of my favs....Suzi from Indy
Another original! And I see cousin Bobby, along with Jimmy & Tony in the photo! Happy Veteran's Day everyone! I know cousin Karl was in the Army and I think cousin, Bobby Engemann was also in the Army. I have a pix of Karl at the piano and Bobby standing next to it, and me playing the violin at our family reunion that I've posted to my Facebook page. Phil, how do I post to my Standup4America page?
@TheSuziclassof64 A wonderfully popular song, it was #1 on here for quite a while but has now been overtaken by "You'll never walk alone". Thanks for searching through my uploads!
@4doororphan OK more info for you:- the early records were recorded at Goldstar and Western recorders, later it was Capitol A or B studio. Hope this is ok for you.
@4doororphan The first ever cou;le of singles were on Warner Bros before they made it big on Capitol. Their Cd "Greatest Movie Hits" was released on Pat Boones' Gold label in 2000, but that's probably different to gold star?? - I'll ask around for you and get back to you.
@standup4America Yeah, what a great trio they were! You can post this vid just by hitting the fav button, but if you meant your pic, I don't think YT have facilities for that.
How could an adolescent girl not thrill to hearing this song dedicated to her today?
