I've been listening to Gackt for about 12 years and always loved his work. One thing I love is that its so diverse. He goes from heavy metal, to electronic with Ghost, to indie pop with Black Stone and so much more. Hope he keeps making wonderful music for a long time yet.
I've been reading the comments and caught my attention the discussion about Lady Gaga, and I want to tell you something: Lady Gaga is a great artist, a wonderful singer and musician and even her clothes is loaded with a wonderful message, all she does has a reason. But also Gackt is wonderful, his music is simply perfect and his lyrics tell beautiful stories and send great messages. Anyway both are great, but in terms of career, Gackt takes many years in the industry, and in style, the Visual K (the genre in which Gackt began) is part of Japanese culture since the 80's; and someone mentioned that Lady Gaga knew play the piano perfectly, well, let me say that Gackt plays piano, guitar, drums, violin, bass, trumpet, tuba, trombone, many other standard orchestral instruments and and the majority of traditional Japanese instruments, plus that he has studied many languages and has sung in English, French, Korean, Cantonese and Mandarin, and I think he continues learning things; in other words Gackt's music career is, so to speak, higher than Lady Gaga's career, but this does not mean that as an artist he is better (although for me he is, I say, is my favorite musical artist), I mean he has much more experience and reputation, Lady Gaga is still a relatively new artist and I really think she is capable of achieving Gackt experience. Moreover the two are involved in different musical genres, ie you can not really compare them, each one is unique and special and the best in their own genre. (~OwO)~
Gackt sold himself off a lil' bit. Here and there you can listen to beautiful songs but then ever so often you will face some fan service material that saddens me a lot from how bad it is... And yes, gackt is a far richer musical artist than lady gaga even though he has some shitty songs. I don't even understand why people are talking about her in a gackt video.
you are correct he kept learning he got a pilots license and learned to fly helicopters, i often wonder why he learned this skill my thought is he wanted to use all that money he has and buy a a military attack helicopter so he can have some real fun flying, what man wouldnt want to pilot a fast powerful and very nimble helicopter bristling with guns and rockets

I don't know why Lady Gaga would even come up but IMHO she is a mash up of Cheer, (costumes) Madonna (female sensual singer) and Visual K (visually shocking concept) the style of Music Gackt is performing and which he helped promote. I am sure Lady Gaga knows this, and as any artist you've got to take whatever from whenever to add to yourself. For marketing reasons though it is not recommendable by labels to note this. (of course since it can divert demographics to another market and then they'll loose money) Yes she's an artist but implying or thinking that she or Gackt or (Gazette which is another visual K band from Japan who have much this look for a lot but not all of their videos and makeup as well) pertain to a specific look is like saying you can only eat a certain food a certain way. Thats the beauty of artists, they mix and match flavours, in this case, colors, sounds, and concepts. But in all truth, Lady Gaga is anew artist, and she did not innovate her look and concept. And that is a fact. Gackt is a veteran musician, who in fact, much like Metallica, Slayer, Antrax and many metal bands during the 80's helped raise the genre Visal K or Metal through a netted network of artists and bands from it's very beginning. This genre however is not his idea alone. It is a cultural influence. The Geisha were not prostitutes, they were artists and highly powerful, educated and independent woman, who designed each their kimono, stage, makeup and hair to immerse their audiences or guests into another world. They were judged as a moving and progressing ever changing work of art, through their artistic face. The effects of this cultural factor can be seen especially in the Visual K world, as they seek to visually shock the audience or enthrall with their artistic faces and be judged with their artistic faces. This comes from an ancient culture something that in the Continent of America can't be found seeing as we are different and young compared to them as nations and root cultural influences. We just have to appreciate and accept things for what they are simply.

I really love Japanese manga, 'Claymore'. The female hybrid warrior, Theresa reminds me my obligation as a spiritual warrior. Gackt's OST is cool, too !
Finally found this damn song ugh..I heard it in a radio interview he was in and couldn't locate it until now..sad its not even on Gackt's huge library of songs on iTunes. Niether is Setsugekka,Zan among a few others.
