I think I would have second thoughts about marrying someone that had such traditions especially if the person you married goes outside of the marriage how can you stay loyal to someone that is disloyal to you.

This is obtainable in Nsukka. I remember when my then guy's friend told me his wife was studying in my state, I jokingly said anambra men would snatch her from you, and he said she'll run mad if she cheated. And I said why? He said it was their culture. Then my then guy said he was going to tell me that. I was angry, and he asked me if I had plans of cheating, I said my anger was that the law was not applicable to both spouses.
It's an evil law! The weird thing is that according to historians, it was their women who brought their law upon themselves. It's said that the white people came to their town and their men started accusing them of infidelity...and in a bid to show their innocence and calm their husbands suspicions, they brought that practice....I don't know if this is true...just saying what I heard.
And it is also said that if the husband finds out that his wife cheated, or his wife tells him that she cheated, and he doesn't bring the case to the public, that's if he keeps the issue of infidelity private, that the husband will fall sick and he'll die. So for him not to die, he'll have to report his wife.
Recently, it is said that for that tradition to be effective, there's a separate practice they do during their traditional marriage. It's when you carry out that practice that the madness will be effective if the wife cheats.
I also heard it's no longer effective as it used to.
