    I can imagine this being use by the 08th MS Team as a runaway truck for them to use for hit & run purpose, especially with one Gundam Ground Type at the trailer firing it's 180 cannon there at enemy MS.

      Weird size aside, the truck would be a really good support unit for urban warfare, both for transporting the Mecha themselves or to carry supplies

    I really didn't expect you to review this kit but you did and so did Mechagaikotsu and both of you sang it's praises quite loudly and that really makes me tempted to buy one of these and thankfully for that claw arm accesorry will be coming in a future weapons pack so that's cool of Bandai to do

      It's a really beautiful kit as long as you can accept the slight-of-hand Bandai did with the size
      With that weapons set, I can have two of the claws on my Kenbu one day:)

    Mainly just adding a comment to help this video get more views to at least pass 1k. Although still a new UA-camr (for gunpla reviews) I still find it to be one of if not the best channel (in this category)!!

      Thank you so much! Belated reply, but the video did make it past 1k:) It's... trucking along.

    Is it really that odd for it to be so big?
    I mean, this thing is supposed to be transporting large sized bipedal combat machines, which I can only assume are rather heavy on top of that and thus require a lot of power and torque to get moving.
    Plus let not forget that at some point in the future the kids most likely be relying on this thing to haul ALL THREE of their Mailes at once!
    With all that in mind, the size doesn't really strike me as THAT unusual, rather I see it as a requirement for the Carrier to be able to fulfil it's role.

      Oh, I mean too big as in the truck was made to look like a road-going semi, and they probably couldn't change the look when they realized it needed to be way larger
      I get your point and agree that the transport itself should be however large it needs to be to carry the stuff
      Bandai never showed us inside the cabin in any of the pre-release photos *puts on tin foil hat*

      yeah, basically he was talking about "matching the scale". The road plus the mechs, which doesnt add up lol. 😂

  • @azymorath
    @azymorath 2 роки тому +3

    So, it's too big for roads and too small for the mechas?
    Hilarous. But the I love for Bandai to release more "support vehicles", like for example the special flat truck that trasported the RX-78 in the first episode of the anime. Koto released something similar years ago, but here in Europe I can't seem to find it anymore.

      Ah, the Gundam trailer is a part of the EX Model line. There's actually going to be a reprint of it soon -- in Japan anyway. There might be imports of it here and there

    I read in a TFW2005 forum that the cockpit can house the Diaclone reboot figures, making the inside closer to 1/60 scale...

    I got this, it was so much smaller than i thought but still awesome, put some leds in the cockpit lol

    Great observation on the scale! I always wondering about the scale cause it looks so big compared to a 1/72nd military truck kits..so i guess it's close to a 1/35th truck..

    i think if people doesn't want to use it for KS Kits, it'll work (somewhat better than with HG Gundams) with the FMP kits, and the military / PMC look fits with the Gernsbacks. Especially for those that made custom teams.
    also 3:28 , as a nitpicky diecast collector that whines when the windscreen is not clear or tinted black, it's sadly the one complaint that actually kept me from pre ordering the kit on the first place. Great review! gonna wait for a sale for this one just for the whoosh whoosh potential (or maybe a baddie version down the road, Ghost color version would look rad i reckon)

    • @HobbyClubhouse
      @HobbyClubhouse  2 роки тому

      It's slightly better too with the FMP kits because they're 1/60 so they truck becomes (a little) less gigantic if we ignore the cabin.
      The blue windscreen is such a sad compromise to make the straight build more colorful/lively, but once you notice the odd color, it looks a bit like a lot of toy cars that do the same thing
      Thank you as always, glad you enjoyed this review too:)

    Mobile command center would be great. Cut up the cab interior, and redo in 144th scale with weapon storage and command center styling inside.

    You know, with the scale, that's close enough that it might work rather well with a lot of 28mm games.

    Hmm....ahh... welll .... yeah I have no counter argument this is just well detailed but not fully thought out. If the scale wasn't bad enough, this truck just wouldn't work in context. This truck *may* have worked in the United States where the network of multi-lane highways could have at least made it useful for cross-country transport, but this truck in universe is supposed to be used in Japan, which has a much more limited road network. Even in real life, Japan had to make compromises with their latest state of the art main battle tank (the Type 10 MBT), such as reducing its size so that it can fit on trains and reducing its weight so that it can cross over bridges or roads with limited load capacity, just so it won't be a logistical nightmare to transport the tanks across the nation.
    Probably the only way for them to solve this issue without completely re-scaling the MAILeS units would be to have the truck transport the MAILes units in pieces (similar to how large construction equipment are transported)... but then that would run into another issue of reassembling the units at the destination, or what happens if an ambush occurs.
    It was probably thought up as a really neat idea, but then they realized the problems with it way too late into development. Now they just have to awkwardly seep the issues under the rug and hope not too many notice it. I don't usually comment often, but I had to on this one after your reply on the Jogan review lol. Anyways, nice review as usual, can't wait for the next!
