  • This is my first test using the GoPro9 with GoPro media mod and Roland CS-10EM binaural microphones/earphones.
    It was filmed in Simafjorden close to Eidfjord in Norway. Simafjorden is part of the Hardangerfjorden i Hardanger.
    There is some noise in this footage mainly because I had the microphones/earphones in my ears and the cables were hitting my helmet straps as I paddled. In the next recordings I will have the mics mounted behind the GoPro on my helmet and the cables strapped together. Another recording option I will use is to connect the mics to a zoom H1 or H5 recorder and sync the sound in edit. The sound in this video is not edited in an audio editor. When I reduce the noise from the cables and wind, I think this setup will be nice for longer recordings in some scenic places. The sound at the end of the video is better than the start due to wind. The reason I filmed this is because some people on youtube asked me if I could record some videos with stereo binaural sound, as this creates the feeling of being in the location while using headphones and viewing it in 4K. Thank you for the advice about the microphones for binaural recordings.

      Thank you. This is the inner parts of the long Hardangerfjord in Norway. In this part there is mostly fresh water on the surface from the rivers, and it gets more salt in the deep parts and towards the sea.

    Hallo Tomasz, this is abolutly perfect - the scenery as well as the way of performing kajak-trips. You make me tingly!
    I plan on doing tours like this also, but it is a long way from Austria to the Bergen-area. So I would appreciate some help like:
    Do you live in that area? Can I meet you? What is the best time to make tours like this? Is it easy to rent a kajak there for private ventures?
    ....
    Thank you so far and please keep on publishing great kajak videos like this!!!

    Masz niesamowite widoki i wspaniałe tereny do wiosłowania. Nie przestawaj.
    Bardzo podoba mi się idea slow tv. Pozwala chociaż na chwilę oderwać się od zgiełku codzienności i posłuchać ciszy.
    Pozdrowienia z UK,
    Tom

    Beautiful to watch and listen. Did you just put the red jack into the GoPro media mob to get this? Meaning does the binaural record go straight to video? Thanks. Ps this location is stunning

    • @TomaszFurmanek
      @TomaszFurmanek  2 роки тому +1

      Yes, the the binaural mics go directly to the gopro media mod, and the binaural mic audio is in the gopro video. The microphones are in the in-ear headset so the binaural headset has to plugs one for audio back into my ears and one mic plug . in the gopro mod I do not use the audio plug , only the mic plug. But when I have recorded with a zoom recorder. I use the audio plug so I get the recorded sound back into my ears. disadvantage of useing the zoom recorder is that I have to sync the sound to the video.

    Oh this is EXACTLY what I wanna do! But can you plug it into Media Mod which only has one input jack, since the Roland has two outputs?

    • @TomaszFurmanek
      @TomaszFurmanek  2 роки тому +1

      The roland has one mic plug that goes into The media mod. The other plug is input to the headset if you want to listen to what is recorded. When I record with a zoom recorder i attach the other plug to the Zoom recorder output so that I can hear what is recorded. The gopro media mod only has a mic plug and no sound out. But the sound out is not needed for recording . I just tie the other plug so that it does not hit things and make noises

      @@rigelr5345 It is the same in Norway , the Rolland CS 10EM was the only one. it works great. But you have to keep the cables from hitting stuff. Hitting loose cables will create noise in the microphones.
      check this video ua-cam.com/video/-k1l292-a9k/v-deo.html
      In this video, he plugs the red mic plug to the line in of the zoom recorder and the black sound plug to the zoom line out.
      I usually use tape to secure the cables.
      I also sometimes make an attachment from protective foam behind the gopro. where the earpieces are attached behind the gopro with a foam wall dividing the right and left side. Then I do not have to be as careful regarding hitting the cables and the gopro media mods records in stereo with the gopro and microphones on top of my helmet

      @@TomaszFurmanek Haha, just before you wrote this comment I thought to myself "hmm the other cable might make noise, oh well, I can always use tape I guess." Thank you for the tips! I just ordered it.
      I don't know about Norway but it's extremely windy here in Denmark, do you use anything around the ear buds as well? I saw a video where the poster apparently uses fluffy earmuffs haha... nå ja, men jeg kan nok skrive dansk så :) men jeg tænker at det dæmper lyden lige lovlig meget måske. Fandt du ud af at reducere vindstøjen i din video?

    • @TomaszFurmanek
      @TomaszFurmanek  2 роки тому +1

      @@rigelr5345 jeg bruker de orginale skum beskytterne som kommer med Rolland headset mikrofonene. De fungerer ok når det ikke er så mye vind. Men kan tenke meg at en slik han bruker i videoen er bedre om det er veldig mye vind. Du kan Google "DIY deadcat mic" for ideer for vindbeskyttelse for mikrofoner
