  • This week we start a new renovation project -- our Family Room!! We are so excited to get to work and bring our vision to life. We have big plans for this room and it's not going to be easy, but we are ready for the challenge! In this first episode we give you a sneak peek of our design for the room and get started on demolition by tearing out all the carpet and window treatments. Let us know what you think our design plans!
Thank you for watching and hopefully you found the video helpful!

Honestly, I prefer solid glass with absolutely no grid as it would be easier to clean the glass. If privacy is a concern, there's always an application of one-way film that adheres to glass, as it would allow in light, but block the ability for peepers to look in. Removing the wallpapers is not going to be fun but the sweat equity will make it worth it in the long run.

Great points! We are looking at grids that go in between the glass panels so it’s still very easy to clean. The privacy film is a great idea! And yes, we are not looking forward to removing the wallpaper 😅

Solid w/ no grid is best.

@@GoldenKeyDesign, I think someone suggested adding layer of curtains such as sheers for daytime light diffusing and privacy, and blackout curtains to block lights for intimate movie night. That way, you won't be fighting glares from daylight and create privacy at the same time. The options are as limited as your design and imagination allows. :)

Great and definitely necessary work but I always wonder how cool that must have looked back in the day by the standards of that time

That's a huge room. Those were some expensive valances back in the day. (I used to sell window treatments.) My mom put that color carpet in her new house in the mid-70s! I look forward to following along.

It’s massive!! We are excited to find huge sectional to fill the space 😁 And yes, it’s crazy how expensive valances were back in the day. Thanks for watching!

My mother put blue carpeting in also in the 80's. I don't know why they ever thought those vertical blinds were OK. Thanks for sharing.

It’s just so blue 😂 We are excited to install some roller shades for the new sliding doors - the vertical blinds are always so hard to open/close and are always swinging around haha

I always look forward to these new videos! Great work as always :)
For the sliding door windows, I think the 2x2 is good for a sleek modern look, but the 3x2 is really good for the industrial theme you usually have going on with your interior decorating (such as the hanging lights in the remodeled bedroom). Personally I think the 3x2 windows would look really good with the rest of the house! Either way they'll look amazing

I’m glad you enjoy the videos!! And we are leaning 3x2 so good choice haha

I think the 3x2 is a better fit for your aesthetic
