I work on a farm and love my Lems Boulder Grips as a work shoe. The soles are thick enough that I'm not worried about stepping on something sharp and stabbing my foot, but thin enough that I can feel the ground and can mostly spread out my toes. My only criticism of the lems boulder grips is that they could definitely do to be wider. Of course, they're wider than your standard workboots, but I don't get full mobility in my toes as I'd like to.

Thanks for the helpful vid. As another commenter mentioned, the “cons” you mention for yourself are actually “pros” for me. Helped me decide the Vivos are what I should go with. Super useful video, thank you!

These are the exact two boots I've been interested in seeing compared. Thanks for the useful review, in a minimal amount of time.

I own a pair of vivobarefoot and I don't recognize the slipping you mentioned. But your feet are different than mine off course. As for the soles, I got used to the thin sole of the vivo and there is no looking back for me. It doesn't wear me out on a long hike wearing a big backpack. So therefor I am grateful for this review as I was looking at the Boulder as a second pair, but the ' soft ' sole is a deal breaker for me. I love the way you handled that camera and make the stick disappear. 🙂

I actually prefer the Vivos over the Lems myself after wearing them a while. Glad my re I’ve helped in your decision!

would be curious what you think of the Lems Summit’s

The only thing with LEMS is that they run a tad small. You need to order a half size, or one size larger if you’re going to wear thick socks.
I’m a flatbed trucker and I swore to myself that I wasn’t going to wear my Boulder Grips when working on the truck. So much for that vow. These boots are super comfortable. I actually wear them all day long with just regular cotton tube socks. I do use generic foot powder to absorb moisture. Thanks God for LEMS. I’ve thrown away my Crocs. I no longer have a need for them. The LEMS do it all.

I guess everyone’s feet are different. I wear these in my normal size with thick socks and they’re comfortable. Glad they’re working for you.

@@JoeHendricks I think running in my Topos (best running shoes if you ask me) have made my feet spread more. I don't know. I'm just guessing.

    Thanks for the review!
But my question is still the sizing of the lems compared to vivobarefoot. You said vivo was larger. Is that the length or width, or both?
And are they the same size? 43 eu is typically a 9.5 us

I have the grip; it is super narrow in the midfoot (boot waist) for my 4E foot. It hasn't worked out for me. Is the vivo wider in that spot? It is a shame that I have found most barefoot shoes to be wide only in the toe box, even those listed as wide. Yes, they are typically wider than your average athletic shoe in a D width but a 4E, not so much, lol.

    • @whewdoggie1

That is how width is added. Even if I buy a regular boot in a EE, only the toebox is wider compared to the same boot.

@@whewdoggie1 All of mine are wider in the mid foot and forefoot as well. Often times significantly.
Before getting into barefoot style boots, I was into heritage boots and the difference between a D and EE last is massive. Instep volume is higher, midfoot, forefoot, heel and toe box all wider.

Your vivos were 43m size - what size were your boulders?

Exactly what I was wondering...:I have the vivos but was looking at buying the Lems Grips as a work boot (reno carpentry).
