Good ear. I picked it up instantly as I, too, play saxophone. I learned to play by ear before really learning to read music using a plastic recorder. I was already listening Grover Washington, Jr. from his early Motown material.

So smooth. I struggled so much with tongueing, mine sounds choppy and you can't even hear yours.

I often find folks who have a hard time smoothing it out took the early lessons about “touching the reed with your tongue” too literally. Practice “tonguing” without a horn - just cutting off the airstream in your mouth. It should feel like that when the horn is there as well, I never feel like I’m making contact with the reed when I play, unless Im going for a very “slappy” effect.

what does the “-“ sign mean ? i’m new to music

It means minor. For example, D- is D minor and D-7 is D minor 7.

It means minor. In a chord symbol it is telling you to lower the 3rd degree (note in the scale) by a half step, and the 7 tells you to also lower the 7th by a half step.
