I would pick a c4 zr1 over a new c8, any time! The c4 is just way more beautiful, and there has just never been made a more beautiful engine in the world, then the lt5. And when I look at the c4, I get a good feeling☄☄ but when I look at the new c8, I feel nothing😒
I'm a big Lingenfelter, Callaway corvette fan. Read many articles about them in car magazines during my youth. This is one car I've never heard about. 1 out of 4, reminds me of a more modern and perfected Sledgehammer corvette.
I am the proud owner of a 93 C4 LT5 ZR1. Totally stock 30,000 miles. Still I cant help but dream of Lingenfelter mods. Wont do it, but dang this car is beautiful.
Doug Rippie Motorsports. He did my dad's 1995 ZR1 with the help of Lingenfelter for the engine. Now its a 6.3L from the stock 5.7L. Makes 600hp and 575 ft.lb of torque. Throw in a 150 shot but I told my dad to rip that shit out after seeing my friend burn his rings in his old mustang, despite the ZR1 having been tuned to handle it as well. He still has that car since November 1994 and it was one of the very few imported to Canada. Even to this day I still get excited when I see and hear the car. It was the very first car I ever learned how to drive stick with and the only car I have stalled twice. Old school performance still keeps up with the new 4 wheel computers lol. My channel has videos of the car. Most recent is a long video with my GoPro at the exhaust. I typed in what times to skip to for the best parts
I feel the same way about my dad's 95 ZR1. Regardless of the Doug Rippie Motorsports build. I remember it from when I wasn't even as tall as the car. Now 22 years later, I drive it around occasionally
The knock on initial startup is the flywheel. All the 89-96 Corvettes with the ZF S6-40 , 6 speeds came with a heavy dual mass flywheel. This car probably has a lightweight Fidanza flywheel. You will get noise from the transmission coming through the flywheel. Sometimes going with a heavier Red Line full synthetic gear oil helps. My ZR1 has a Haibeck 510 package making over 525 h.p. and it makes a little noise with the Fidanza but Marc does a really good job installing them and its not horrible. I have heard ones that were owner installed and sounded so bad they took them out a week later. Especially when you are sitting at a light and it sounds like a rod knock. 🤣 Just the nature of the beast. Engine will rev up quicker and make a bit more h.p. with the lightweight flywheel. The factory dual mass flywheels are no longer available and if you find one they are quite expensive now.
What an absolutey beautiful car.. I never really gave the c4 much attention.. in my opinion the c6 is the best looking corvette. But OMG THIS C4 IS STUNNING.. I love it.. 👍👍❤❤
I am the proud owner of a 95 C4 LT-1 After the first 300 HP any extra is a waste. My LT-1 doesn't look any different. The only difference is the other one will kill you faster or get more expensive tickets... lol Really though, nice car!
+proslice56 I got the same car, I agree only real corvette people will notice the difference between the base and the zr1 they are actually very different not just the motor and 105hp more..i got used to the 300hp already
+Gregg Cesaroni I never believed they did either but back in college a girl I was friend's with told me her dad's ZR-1 was an auto. Growing up a Vettehead I said bullshit, they don't make them in auto and she brought me pictures of the car and of the automatic shifter so...
Why the conversion to an automatic?? Not a single ZR-1 was an auto till the newer C7s....interesting choice. Which one? Not a Poweglide God forbid. These cars deserve the manuals they came with.
@@rayrodrigo3999 I have a really hard time believing that they let somebody test drive this car that wasn’t ready to purchase it, they showed them proof of financing or cash money. Just saying I’ve been in the car business long time and it’s just some cars that you don’t let people test drive.
This car was made to be a roll racing/1/4 mile killer with that automatic. Automatics is the way to go when turbocharged. No boost drops like with a manual between shifts.
None came as automatics. This one was converted to a beefed auto to provide smoother power delivery in the quarter mile. It's just easier to run 9 second times and not break something with an automatic that has lots of extra horsepower. These are just the quickest streetable C4's
People always saying bad things abt the c4 looks and performance. It’s just ignorant hate. Zr1 was a steal nothing could touch it so the rich dudes and magazines would criticize its interior. the lt1 was priced at lower end Porsche but they had to compare it to top of the line 911’s because the Vette would destroy anything else. But for the price of a 911 turbo u could save some money and be in a zr1.
I Dream of a "normal" C4-ZR-1, but this is the thing.

Same..and both are technically mid-engined lol
C4 zr1. Less money than c8.
This is a dream car. I love the C4 Corvettes and to have a ZR1 and tuned by Lingenfelter. Even more awesome
The most beautiful Corvette!

This is the twin turbo zr1. Lingenfelter only built 4 of them.

If you look closely at the interior you will see this car has an automatic transmission
Yeah, this was converted to automatic. If not a six speed manual transmission.
What a beautiful car 😘😘😘😎👍 god bless you brother and keep it up 👍 best wishes 👍from Saudi Arabia 🇸🇦 ❤️❤️❤️🤗
What a beautiful car 😘👍❤️ best wishes to you all guys 🌹 God bless you all and keep it up 👍 good luck 👍 from saudi Arabia 🇸🇦

Beauty and performance.
We're is the turbos? You didn't show us the best part of this car

3 things it's not a manual and it has a role cage and the interior 8s not black other than that beautiful car
Beautiful! it would be nice if it were manual

GROW A PAIR WILL YA..
How can a ZR1 have an automatic transmission? That’s not possible.
Beautiful. Why not a 6 spd? Wow 1 of 4
The original customer for this particular car wanted an automatic so they had to swap the 6 speed to an automatic
I would have checked why those valves were knocking before revving that engine.
Oh also you heard that too? My guess would be just because it had been sitting for a while.
No commentary?
Never knew they made these with an automatic
They didn't; this was part of Lingenfelter's conversion.
Gregg Cesaroni they never did.

@@leslieau7245 They never made to them, the person just swapped the 6 speed out.

Yes i test drove it last week

Manuals only

What the price in cdn dollars
What kind of monster would put an automatic in this car?
Nice car but was that an automatic transmission? So sad.
It's the best way to go with a big horsepower turboed car. This car is set up to be a straight line 1/4/roll racing killer.
It's sacrilege.
Whats up with the automatic, great idea would love to do that.

The new "automatic craze" is so so zoomer.. About 20 years ago no one really cared and still don't. Get a life.
كم سعرها بريال السعودي؟؟
Sounds hurt on start up imo
4 speed automatic? Wtf
Lol would love to see you try to bang gears on the street in a car with 850hp.
Whats with the Porn music?
This car looks cheap...
Cheap? SMH.

C4s look like a shapeless bar of soap now, but back then they quite advanced.
