Hey Connor, Unfortunately, we don't test specialized setups like these, so we can't really confirm how the Bose 900 would perform with the Bass Module 700 and Surround Speakers versus the Bass Module 500 and Surround Speakers. We've done a bit of research, and since the 700 is larger than the 500, it's likely to improve the bass reproduction. But, again, since we haven't tested it, we can't be certain that it offers a better value.

What would be the cost to upgrade? Presently enhancing the sound with Accustic Bass Module 700-$699.00. Surround Satellite Speakers 700-$548. WDF-BOSE is accomplishing.
If you're having technical issues with products, you'll likely have to check out the user manual or reach out to the manufacturer for troubleshooting assistance. Sorry about that!
I have an LG 75" NanoCell 90 tv that I hooked up to my Bose 900. During setup the Dolby settings on the tv are greyed out. I have it connected by an HDMI (arc) cable. Any idea?
While it does support Dolby Digital audio formats, you need to make some changes for it to work. For instance, set the HDMI Input Audio to 'Bitstream' for the input you're using, Digital Sound Output to 'Auto', and enable HDMI e-ARC Support. Hopefully that helps!
For a neutral sound and slick looks the BOSE works but if you want outstanding sound separation and Atmos at it’s best, opt for the Sony ht A9. If you get the Omni jewels and the sub then spend on the Sony ht A9 and has more mileage for your cash. If you just want a bar and later want to upgrade then go in for the BOSE which still has good sound right off a stand alone bar.

Hi I have question, I will be appropriate if you answer my question. I am looking speaker for soundbar for my bedroom just listen to music I am looking sound bar with super clear sound & surround sound. So what is your recommendation for me. Thanks in advance.
Depends on your budget. For under 200 dollars I'd recommend the Vizio 2.1 soundbar with it's own built-in subwoofers, Bose TV speaker. For under 500 dollars the Bose 600 soundbar. For under 900 dollars the Bose 900 Ultra soundbar. Keep in mind you'll have to pony up a little more than twice the amount if you want to add the bass module and the surrounds to the bose soundbars.
The idea used by many audio manufacturers - selling a soundbar bundled with a subwoofer - completely misses the point of owning a soundbar. After all, the purpose of buying a soundbar is to avoid having multiple speakers, likely because there's no space for additional speakers. When looking for a soundbar, I expect that a single speaker mounted on the wall will handle everything. And I bought one like that - a BOSE 900 without a subwoofer... and let me tell you, it should be illegal. Without a subwoofer, this tiny speaker doesn’t reproduce the full frequency range, so you might not even recognize your favorite music. In the version without a subwoofer, it simply has zero bass.
According to Bose support, yes, audio can be wirelessly streamed to the Soundbar 900 using Bluetooth, AirPlay 2, Chromecast, or through the Bose Music app using a mobile cell phone. Hope this helps!
We haven't tested the Bose SoundTouch 300, so we can't say how they compare unfortunately. Sorry about that!
It seems like it depends on your source. According to a bose agent, if you're using an Android phone, you can watch content on your device and hear the audio on the soundbar!

The sound bar 900 I have no endless trouble with it it doesn’t connect properly keeps dropping off with the sound the Bose 700 sound bar is a lot better sound bar if you are interested in purchasing a new sound bar for your house
Thank you. Can you tell me how they compare in sound. I just bought the 700, (as in on line, 30 min ago)but after reading there reviews I wonder if I should go with the 900. Since some say it is so much better sound then the 700
Unfortunately this review didn't cover the one reason I will probably buy it. Generally speaking it hit the generic audio talking points well enough. As Bose has a smart speaker in the lineup that pairs with this device that as well works with both Google -and- Alexa they are the only players that I can see that offer a multiroom audio solution that includes the soundbar. A Sony rep tried to convince me to buy theirs when I was a best buy purchasing the smart speaker the other day..and I said oh do you do multi room audio too? Nope. Reviewers make note going forward: any audio device that has a tie in to a lineup via Google or Alexa, and also pairs with other devices in the lineup that do that same thing...means you can use that device to close the garage door. Or turn on the lights. No small thing. This is smart home, and Bose is making a very good move here.
I have since been made aware there is one other: sonos does this with the sonos one speaker so that becomes viable. I remain convinced this is the only way forward for a responsible soundbar purchase...to not consider the complete solution, it is just a speaker.
Part of the issue with introducing sound is that it may not be reproduced accurately in the video and it can also vary between rooms, so it may sound different in our room/video than someone else's. It's a good point either way though, and it's something we can consider finding a good way to implement in future videos!
So true. Only the Alexa part works. As far as asking Alexa for basic things. The part that controls your TV and the Channels DOES NOT WORK!!!! Please be aware of this part. Other than that it sounds exceptional.
I bought this based on your review naming it the best sound bar And all I can say is what a bunch of horseshit. I bought to the entire set sound bar subwoofer surround sound and even the speaker stands for a total of $2500. From the beginning the sound was not as immersive as the standard speakers on my Samsung television. Although technically you could say the quality of sound was good, you just stopped hearing everything and all you hear now are the voices and the loud high-pitched sounds Ambient sounds low pitch sounds are lost. Replaced by a rumble only when you connect to the subwoofer. Surround sound speakers only projects sound effects like bullets flying by but nothing else. Also the quality of the sound sounds like back in the day when you had to use headphone jacks on your headphones and when the headphone jack wasn’t completely plugged in you would get a half assed sound. That’s what this entire system is. It is bullshit and it is buggy as hell. Often there is distortion or loss of sound and you need to switch audio sources and come back For a sort of soft resetto restore sound. Yes I followed instructions very carefully are used Adaptic and I upgraded my sound bar firmware before I added anything else. Total absolute garbage
The worst part is I can’t return it because I am disabled and it was a pain in the ass to install it in the first place but it is almost impossible for me to return it as I am homebound. And I don’t have the strength to pack everything up again and then install a new set. All I want now or the Samsung 950 right think you should send one to me and come to my home and take this shit back and return it for me since you give a false review
@@d.3671 Yes I have and upon doing some research I found that Bose has bad audio quality. I apparently they turn the speakers to what they Think people like hearing. They are not actually good quality sound
And that is something that they should mention in their reviews since it is kind of a big deal. Only a certain group of people will find Any bose products to be satisfying

Having issues connecting to my Sony Bravia 55” 2021-2022.. Connects to my iPhone seamlessly.. Help.
Why my audio on Music app has no height channel? Only center, treble and bass. My Sound bar is the 900 to be clear.
That is weird. Maybe try redoing the setup process and uninstalling the app as well.
I’ve never heard of that issue. Wow!
Just installed mine this weekend and a height is definitely there. Try uninstalling the app
which soundbar dolby atoms system best for tv?
For a neutral sound and slick looks the BOSE works but if you want outstanding sound separation and Atmos at it’s best, opt for the Sony ht A9.
If you get the Omni jewels and the sub then spend on the Sony ht A9 and has more mileage for your cash.
If you just want a bar and later want to upgrade then go in for the BOSE which still has good sound right off a stand alone bar.

Just got this year bose soundbar 900 and bass module 700 with the surround back speakers and man the sound is amazing its all i need crystal clear sound and the bass is amazing nothing gives me this deep bass sound worth every penny i did exchange it for my 12 year old 350 lifestyle system that was in a box in the basement not used way too much cables glad i exchange it.
Hi. Do the surround back speakers really make a difference? I have the bar and the Bass Module 700, considering adding the back speakers, but they are expensive..
compliments. Does this soundbar integrate the Alexa voice assistant? If yes, does it also integrate into Zigbee like Amazon's Echo? thx
Hello!
You can find this info in the voice assistant section of our reviews: www.rtings.com/soundbar/reviews/bose/smart-soundbar-900
But yes it does!
Does Klipsch soundbars Rate better than Bose ? Kind of confused between the two
We don't generally rate brands like this, and instead focus on individual product performance.
These would be the Bose and Klipsch products we've bought and tested though, so feel free to check it out! www.rtings.com/soundbar/tools/table/101043
My tv has arc port..Would it be able to connect?
No earc port available on my tv
Yes that should be fine!
@@RTINGSdotcom will it effect sound quality?
Hi I have question, I will be appropriate if you answer my question.
I am looking speaker for soundbar for my bedroom just listen to music I am looking sound bar with super clear sound &
surround sound.
So what is your recommendation for me.
Thanks in advance.
Hello!
Just to confirm, are you looking for a soundbar or a speaker? Or both? Thanks for any clarification you can provide!
Can I use my phone to play music thru Bluetooth? I wanna use it to play music as well, is it any good for that? Thanks
According to Bose support, yes, audio can be wirelessly streamed to the Soundbar 900 using Bluetooth, AirPlay 2, Chromecast, or through the Bose Music app using a mobile cell phone. Hope this helps!
Can you use the soundbar from your phone bypassing the built-in app?
It isn't something we've tried on our end, but after doing some research it seems like this may not be something you can do. Sorry about that!
They need to retest the SONY with the SUB added.
Is it worth upgrading from the Bose SoundTouch 300?
We haven't tested the Bose SoundTouch 300, so we can't say how they compare unfortunately. If it's anything like the Bose Smart Soundbar 300 though, then it may be worth checking out this comparison: www.rtings.com/soundbar/tools/compare/bose-smart-soundbar-300-vs-bose-smart-soundbar-900/17863/27398?usage=8495&threshold=0.10
But again, we can't say for sure. Sorry about that!
Noooooooop don't do it!!!!!! Keep 300 2 time better
Does the Chromecast work for video too or just streaming audio?
It seems like it depends on your source. According to a bose agent, if you're using an Android phone, you can watch content on your device and hear the audio on the soundbar!
Does Bose 900 works with Samsung TV TU8500?
yes it works samsung tu8500 has a HDMI eARC
Is there an E arc adapter. My tv only has Arc?
If your TV only has Arc, then this article might help you out. www.trustedreviews.com/how-to/hdmi-earc-sonos-arc-4035031
The information there is applicable generally and not just to the Sonos Arc soundbar. Hope this helps!
Thanks for the review ! I have some really old Bose 2.1 speakers I’ve been using. Picked them up about 12 years ago. Im looking for my next upgrade. Surround would be nice. What do you guys think ?
I would upgrade if your wallet can handle it. Immediately! This new Soundbar is really good. I purchase one and I love it.

Hey John! That was our mistake and we're going to pin a comment on this video clarifying that! Sorry about the mistake.
Hello I have a question, can I pair this sound-bar with a 500 Bose subwoofer??? Or I need the 700?? Thank you and hope someone help me with this
I paired it with the bose bass 500 module and the lower end surrounds and it works fine.
you can, i connected it with my bass module 300, but you should unpair it from the older soundbar
Short answer for me would be NO. This thing craves for a subwoofer.
Since some say it is so much better sound then the 700
Bose has em right now for $400 refurbished
I have an echo sitting right next to the sound bar so I doubt I would use the sound bar. Maybe to play multi room music but not for anything else.
Just writ bose off at the end lol🌨
U must do an audio test in a review or don’t do a review, we must get an idea of how it sounds
There is a eq
No eq for this bar
Yeah one down side! You cannot use the auto tuning unless you buy their stupid Bose 700 headphones.
why don't you introduce the soundbar's sound????? you don't explain anything just by talking!!!!
Part of the issue with introducing sound is that it may not be reproduced accurately in the video and it can also vary between rooms, so it may sound different in our room/video than someone else's. It's a good point either way though, and it's something we can consider finding a good way to implement in future videos!
The reviewers are forgetting to review the awful built-in Amazon Alexa Half Braindead skills on a soundbar 900
@@mikem9674 Have you done the calibration with the headset that was included ?
@@d.3671 Yes I have and upon doing some research I found that Bose has bad audio quality. I apparently they turn the speakers to what they Think people like hearing. They are not actually good quality sound
And that is something that they should mention in their reviews since it is kind of a big deal. Only a certain group of people will find Any bose products to be satisfying
@@mikem9674 Ok, sorry for you then. It's really weird how some people say that Bose is the best sound and some others hate it. I heard it in a shop and I thought it sounded fine, but maybe the sound demo was misleading.
It sure is pricey. Near the cost of a 77" oled tv. SMH
It’s really good though!!
Which 77' OLED is $900?
not really. i bought a half price refurbed denon 13 channel atmos receiver and it was this price. plus i had to buy wires and speakers.
My bose 900 soundbar sounds no better then the TV I'm anything the TV is better

The Sony ht a9 is better
Subjective
And still to this date, people still haven’t discovered that the Sony HT-A9 is NOT a soundbar system. Then why compare them?
NO DTS... no thanks!
I just got a blu-ray player to decode DTS to PCM. No issues now.
@@SoHottScott So you still don't get DTS... what's the point...?
@@gb3496 instead of the soundbar outputting 2.0 stereo it matches the DTS output. So my Blu-ray is DTS 5.1 and now the soundbar outputs LPCM 5.1. I'm satisfied with the results as it's night and day different vs without the player. Sony does support DTS but overall the Bose is rated better for sound. So this way I get both.
Most newer mid-high end tvs can auto decode dts audio into lpcm, honestly sounds just as good as dts.
