i feel like people forget that if this toy had film accurate eyes it would be a choking hazard for young kids. that little flaw aside, this is definitely the closest we'll ever get to an officially released replica toy.

While most characters such as Woody, Buzz lightyear, Rex, and Hamm are mainly Unique to Toy Story, Some characters like Mr. Potato Head Slinky Dog are Based more heavily on existing Toys, it's possible that They stopped due to Copyrights with Hasbro.

Ever since I heard they were going to release some of the toy story collection characters I was going to save up my money to get the Mr. potato head collection figure but when I went to target and saw he wasn’t there and I found out he wasn’t re-released I was kind of sad and now he’s like $1 million on eBay

I remember I saw Toy Story 3 in 3D in July 2010 right before my brother went into the Air Force and for Christmas of 2010 I got toy story mr potato head after I saw a video of him at a toy fair 12 years ago and I got the army men too

I think they decided not to add this dude to signature collection because of copyright licensing issues with Hasbro and Playskool and maybe they sold out quickly but who knows maybe one day in the future hasbro will finally come to their senses and give us what we want a movie inspired potato head

its a long story but the short version is, movie promotion. Signature and Collection line was only intended to be released to promote the movies. When Toy Story 3 came out in 2010, that is when the collection line was first introduced, after about 2013 all the collection and signature collection disappeared from the shelves we saw nothing until the year 2019 for the Toy Story 4 movie promotion. Then we saw signature collection come back like Woody, Jessie, Buzz, Bullseye, Soldiers and aliens and then some new ones like Bo Peep, ducky and bunny and Duke Caboom...after about 2020 they disappeared again. We won't see them come back to the stores until maybe next year if we get lucky with the lightyear movie for 2022 or if and when a new Toy Story 5 movie comes out so we have to wait and see.

Advise please... there is someone selling one of these with one ear missing. Can you add an ear from any other standard mr potato head and will it fit on this guy and will it pop out when you yell at him. Hope you can help ASAP before it sells as I really want him? X
The parts for collection potato head are unique and need specific parts for the shape. So no you can’t use other parts from other potato heads unless you somehow modified the joint part of the ear.

I found a woody couple of weeks ago on eBay the one with a soft body and play mode smile and in my head I was thinking I could modify my signature collection woody. I was kidding my self he’s sat in my room gathering dust. I don’t know what I was thinking when I bought him coz I don’t modify 😁 he looks cute though 🙂

I was thinking about adding this to my collection, do you know anywhere I can get it for a good price?
These are now worth $200-300 out of box and boxed $400+ on eBay. Or search used in Facebook marketplace. They stopped making him in 2010 back then he actually sold poorly and they clearanced him out on Amazon I remember for $25 because people didn’t like the electronics so much sadly that’s why he went out of print and he never was made again. The partnership with playskool was also temporary.
