Hardscuffle Parade 2024

On June 15, a group of current and former Brentwood residents celebrated their heritage with the inaugural Hardscuffle Parade!
In the years following the Civil War, the newly freed African American slaves began buying property and establishing lives as free citizens. Many of these families purchased lots to the north and east of the depot and village center of Brentwood, in an area that would become known as Hardscuffle.
The area is now known as Church Street. For the last 40 years, members of these original families have gathered for the annual Hardscuffle Community Reunion Picnic. Dozens of families returned on Saturday to participate in the parade down Church Street.

Please put sidewalks along that section of road. It’s one of the least walkable roads in Brentwood.
