Hey Atousa, first I would like to say thanks for this video. I have watched many videos regarding motivational letters. And I would say that they were all good, but your video is much more informative. You explained it quite well. It really tells what should be included and how it should be included. I appreciate your effort. Thanks.
Hi dear Atousa! About three months ago, I wrote my personal statement for a master program at LSE by following exactly your recipe, step by step. I just heard from the admissions office that I got in! I just wanted to thank you so much! If it was not for this video, I would not be able to write such a good personal statement. I am so grateful to you! I watch your videos in my free time, you are an amazing person. Thank you and keep doing amazing videos!😘😘😘😘
I have put off writing my personal statement for a month now and it's just led to increasing anxiety about it in the back of my mind. Thank you for this video! it's given a lot of guidance and given me confidence. I've answered the questions and i'll now attempt to finally write my statement
Hi! I watched your video and took your tips to write my personal statement and have been accepted to my choice school and masters course :) thank you so much!
Thank you so much for your video! Your tips helped me a lot in writing my personal statement and I've recently gotten an offer to a master's at UCL. :)
You're a life-saver. I've had all the info I needed, obviously... just didn't quite know where to start. This is so helpful. Thanks you so much! You're a star!
I watched your video a couple of months ago and found it incredibly helpful. Today I received an offer to a postgraduate course at King's. :] Thanks for sharing your tips.
This video was so helpful for all Masters applications (I'm applying got an MA in Writing for Children) and even though your examples were science based they were great at getting my mind going and figuring out my own! Thank you so much!
Thank you for posting this video! It helped me a lot with my statement. Everything else I've read (including "helpful" comments from college websites) didn't seem to help but the way you made the information concise and easy to understand really helped. Thanks!
Atousa, this video has been of great help to me for writing a personal statement! I am about to start my studies in MSc Clinical Dermatology at KCL. Many thanks for your tips and the great job you do ☺️🙌🏽
I love this! I've rewritten my statement one too many times and felt that I was starting to lack clarity. This has helped a lot! I also think a useful question to add would be: What will the institution gain from having me there? (Include what unique perspectives you can bring to the course, particularly certain modules; maybe a sense of community that you could bring... etc)
Aww those are wonderful tips! thank you so much and honestly you made me feel less stressed about my own personal statement because I was so worried even though my application is excellent for the major!
Hi, thank you for your video. Actually I was thinking to change my course for postgraduate and this video really help me to think few points for my personal statement. ✨

Its a small world💜 Ive fond memories of the area and friends there as well💜✌️
fantastic video thank you! Do you know when the majority of deadlines for UK MSc courses is? Would you say they are mostly in April, or would you say they are around March
Hi - thank you for your helpful videos. I'm interested in applying for a Masters and I've been told to apply for 4/5 max. However, I am finding it difficult to narrow my options down. Was applying to eight quite challenging? and were you in your final year at uni whilst applying or did you take a year out after graduation?
hello :) personally I didn't find it very challenging because the courses I was applying to were quite similar so the application itself wasn't an issue, and no I had taken a year out of education after my degree :)
It was all good and lovely until you mentioned that it took you three weeks to write your personal statement and my deadline for submitting mine, which I still haven't started yet, is in two day.. hahahahahaaha I am applying for McGill University in Canada for Graduate Mechanical Engineering, and I will get back to you in a few weeks to tell you that I got admitted ;) Thanks for the valuable content, and best of luck for you!
Hi can I have your email? anyways how will your first sentence be to a personal statement with the prompt "tell us about you and why you are considering this college"? please answer
I used pretty much the same statement, but altered it slightly based on the course! but because all the courses I applied to were quite similar, I didn't have to change TOO much :)
Thank you for sharing Atousa :-) The Questions 1. Why do you want to study this course? 2. Why have you chosen this particular institute? 3. What initially sparked your interest in this area? 4. What experiences do you have? (first or second hand) 5. What is your overall purpose for doing this course? 6. What skills are required and do you have them? 7. What specific method or techniques are required for this course? 8. Wha would you get out of this course? 9. What are your future career goals, and how will this course help?
Thank you for sharing Atousa ❤️ The Tips: 1. State your intention right at the start 2. Adopt the "hourglass" structure (in the order of the questions given) 3. Be sure to "talk up" the institute you're applying for 4. State what you have learnt from your experiences 5. Don't overuse "passion", "enthusiastic", or "interested" 6. HI Artousa, I just wanted to say thank you so much for your videos and sharing your experiences. Although this was made in 2017, all the information here is still relevant in 2021. I used this vid and your 'Reading my Master's Personal Statement' vid as guidance to write my personal statement for an MSc conversion course and received an offer from my first choice at a top ten university. Thanks for the video! I really appreciate it. Literally just started my personal statement today for grad school. Application is due March 1st, 2020. This really helped especially because I didn't know how to start it or what details to give. So thank you!
Hello! I am applying for masters courses for 2020 entry and stumbled across your videos as I prepare to start writing my personal statement! I'm applying to about 6 school, 3 are for Psychology (Conversion) Msc and others are Business Psychology, Psychology and Economic Behaviours. I suppose for each school I apply to the statement should differ as it should be specific to the school and course... wondering if you wrote 8 different statements? Or used a template then switched it up a little? Thank you in advance!
You're just amazing. Thank you very much for sharing your experience and giving such specific explanations about each section! I was so confused about starting the PS, but after this video I feel absolutely confident about getting it right!

Thank you for this very informative video! Actually, I have a question: I was born with a hemangioma on my right eyelid which left me nearly blind, but the lid itself could be saved and nearly looks normal today. That’s why I’ve always been aware of how lucky I am to have been born in Germany and having access to the German health system. This is actually a major reason why i want to contribute to better access to healthcare in parts of the world that are very poor (in fact I’m going to do an internship in Ankara this summer at an NGO for disabled children and youths). Do you think it makes sense to mention this in my personal statement or is it too corny? This is a genuine motivation for me to pursue a master’s in international development and I am definitely not intending to write this to make the admissions officer feel sorry for me!
Hi Sarah, I'm sorry for the late reply to this. Thank you for sharing your story here, and no I don't think it's corny at all. A lot of students want to contribute to healthcare because they themselves received it, and understand the important difference it makes to their lives and want to give it back to others. I think the best way to do it is to discuss what the experience meant to you and how it affected your decision rather than describing the experience in too much detail. I think they would appreciate the honesty of sharing your intentions to study. I wish you all the very best with it :)
