Not a bad game by Taito - but not very special either.
The only fun thing are the weird char manipulation modes - as shown at the end of the video :) -

Unofficial virtua fighter similar game for PS1. Awesome little 3d fighter. I played this 7 years ago (when i writed this comment for the first time) and still i'm playing in 2023. On my phone (ePSXe for android) and Wii (on WiiStation - a much improved version of the PS1 emulator "WiiSX", based on PCSX-Reloaded with PCSX-ReArmed new characteristics for this console). The game works perfectly on Wii on 2023. This is an interlaced game running at 512x480i (very hi-res for PS1) and now WiiStation emu includes an option for interlaced games like Fighters Impact, Tekken 3, Bloody Roar 2 and iS: Internal Section (japanese only rythm and music game in 1999 by squaresoft and cia, running at the highest resolution at 640x480i - 60 fields per second). Cheers to everyone from Argentina!
Is it just me or does this game have the best animations ever in a VS game? It is mind blowing in that regard.
Everything is great about this game, graphics, soundtrack, sound effects... So many memories from my childhood, great times!
PS: that voice at the beginning of the first fight, it gives me goosebumps every time 💙🌻
Imho, the best, yet underrated psx fighting gamę.
fighter's impact its like virtua fighter 1 and the 1th tekken game from the 90's awesome days
I just wish that everyone likes what Taito has created in their later years from the late 80's, 90s and 2000s. I feel that they should've been the company that becomes a pop culture icon instead of Capcom. The only thing that people see Taito being famous for is their puzzle games, shmups and for Space Invaders.
Besides making some good and great underrated games in the '80s and '90s, I also recognize Taito as being the video game industry's god of Engrish.
And Chase HQ
love the game's music soo much...why I am here
Esse merecia uma continuação até os dias de hj. Muita saudade dessa época. Ainda bem q existem os emuladores.
oh my childhood 90s..stage 1 always my favourite arena bcoz of water physic 😁 missing u so much playstation 1 era..
Faraha's gotta be one of the most annoying sub-bosses on a fighting game. I mean, her sidewalking and automatic sidesteps can pretty much fuck you up, but at least she's actually doing her Baguazhang correctly, because that style relies on strafing around the opponent
I remember this fighting game. I used to play it, when I was a child.
I really like the realistic fighting movements in this game.
Taito didn't develop this, Polygon Magic did.
This seems generic and forgettable, but I somehow find it oddly appealing.
It seems generic at first, but not so much in terms of gameplay It has a pretty smart combo system and it isn't a button masher, like much more recognizes games as Bloody Roar. It has bland graphics, but pretty good animations for its time.
100% recomendable at cheap prize.
14catorce
One thing I loved about the PS1 version was the fighting editor which allowed you to create combos you could use later in the game. At the time, Dengeki Playstation had some of the more incredible combo strings in their magazine.
+dhoerst You should play the arcade version. The animation is surprisingly smooth because of the limitations.
I like it much, nice graphics, especially the animations details and although blocky, some muscle look well drawn.
I played this but on arcade machine in childhood...
Wow , Great looking game for a Psone , specially the animations , better even than many games of today :D .
This along with other 3d fighting games runs at a very high resolution for a ps1 title: 512x480i
That's why looks better than the standard 3d game of that era.
anyone else finding it hard to belive that is actually a game and not real life?? I canni belive how life like the movements are :O
I remember this game. I love the music and the animations.
This looks great! Would love to see something relatively "fresh" like this remade for new consoles. There's a relative lack of juggles so i imagine this is a lot more satisfying to play than the current fighting games.
music and animations looks great
HAHAHAHAHAHAHA 2:11 EPIC WIN ! "YOU WIN! ?" xD
Jahahhaahhah
the soundtrack is very epic!
This game best or VIRTUA FIGHTER, three technique on one character, good combo, nice gameplay, epic music. I love exclusive japanese game. Thank YOU ScHlAuChi.
Something charming about these oldies.
Seems like the poor man's Virtua Fighter LOL.
Did this come out before or after Virtua Fighter?
The music for this game is amazing!
I should find this game...
what the name of Hornet's stage
They say its a Virtua Fighter clone cuz of the ring outs, but tbh it seems for realistic than that, I can kinda see why it wasn’t that big since it isn’t as fast paste as Tekken or even VF but the game seems great in its own way, which in my opinion, its appealing and the style of gameplay is amazing. I would love to try the out soon.
Yeah, nothing special. But I like that you can choose different styles for each character. Would make like 24 characters in total if you think about it. Pretty cool.
It actually did something that later mortal kombat games (x - onward) would later adapt
@@Rafael61993 of styles for different characters
Somewhat doubtful, because it was developed by Polygon Magic and not Taito themselves.
Che fluidità davvero ma i giochi d oggi potrebbero sparire di fronte un picchiaduro così
Silicon Valkey on the N64 is definitely one of them.... Also check Fighters Impact (Ps1), Goal Storm (Soccer with weird metallic sounds on the Ps1) and SpiderMan Xmen Arcade's Revenge for the Snes.
can you make video with yukiwo playthrough
Do you ever _actually_ fight Dr. Wiz or is he just an excuse for a mirror match?
This looks awesome! Playstation, how I love thee so!
the opening is non-sense and all but spectacular
cant find this music
This looks like a decent game. It's a shame it was only released on the PlayStation in Japan, but I assume the reason it didn't get an international release was to avoid getting lost in-between all the other popular fighting games out at the time (Tekken 2, Street Fighter Alpha 2, Mortal Kombat Trilogy, and so on). Some things I'm not going to get into withstanding, I wouldn't have minded playing this.
i dont think it would last very long tbh
Darius Wayne Yeah, probably because of the reason I already mentioned. At best, I think Fighters' Impact could have benefitted from an updated Dreamcast port.
Darius Wayne Well, the Dreamcast was suffering from a lot of other problems besides the looming and eventual release of the PlayStation 2, but I see your point. You should check out this blog link: segareniassance.blogspot.com/2016/03/op-ed-bernie-stolar-and-isao-okawa-dumb.html
+Loader2K1 but the best fighting game of all time is killer instinct because even mortal kombat stole an idea from em which was the combos killer instinct was the first fighting game to ever have a combo system
Darius Wayne I wouldn't call Killer Instinct the best fighting game ever, but I would say that it would be ranked high on a list.
This game looks pretty cool :)..... I wanna play!
why does it "suck"?
Idk that it sucks in the traditional sense; the game plays well, and isn't broken. The problem is that Fighters Impact is a Virtua Fighter clone with alternate fighting styles... and that's it. The game does nothing original other than alternate poses
@@FIXTREME Wow, I can't even remember why I asked that question, but thanks for the reply.
I sorta like Barazock's theme from 13:20 on. xD
Does a Pal version of this game exist?
Nope. Its japanese exclusive.
Depends if VS. was released in Europe
Nice
You win?
I think it does. Not 100% sure, though...
Looks good
3:08 The moment Hornet decided that he didn't want to be in this crappy game anymore
PS1版電車でGO!の説明書で初めて知った、やったことないけど…。
wow its like only this and kensei are the only fighting games that have dynamic blocking and dodging. both for ps1. i wish modern fighting games had more then one block animation. and animation for just dodging automatically as well. probably only dbz budokai 1-3 are only games after that that even had dynamic dodging. i want a game with both. oh! check out crouching tiger hidden dragon for ps2.....wow!!!! ull see all of this. underrated
👍
i like the graphics! like virtua fighter but with textures its the movement im rubbishing here as my words spell out in plain english below
virtua fighter clone. but it looks really nice.
Remember Playing This with my Playstation. Did not know until now that it was exclusive on Japan. 😂Bernhard is much Faster than Shiro in terms of Karate as Shiro's Main Style is a diff. One. 😊
Hi, so I just beat arcade mode and unlocked one of the 4 hidden characters. The combo de mambo mode is unlocked. However under options turning off the POWER CONTROL doesnt turn off the heat meter. Do you have to unlock all 4 hidden characters before turning that off in options menu actually has an effect in game? trying to play with no over heat meter for fun.
You Win?!
This music sounds like something out of a GBA game
PSX LongPlay [098] Fighter's lmpact Kaede
