So much for catching Pokémon without fail eh Then again, failed to catch balls can be reused rather than consumed/broken like it is in the games... and origins.
I'm so happy to see other people enjoying this mod as well, it's so funky but also really fun and filled with some weird puzzle solving since it really throws your head for a loop to try to remember all of the events of a game backwards.
The anime moment mentioned at 8:15 was when an episode featuring whiscash using earthquake. The episode was skipped due to ongoing earthquakes in areas of japan when it was due to air.
@@ethereal2074 It's not something to be "fixed". It's simply that there was no such thing as individual classifications for physical or special moves until gen 4(Sinnoh), and thus all moves were classified as either physical or special based on their type for the first 3 generations.

If Platinum had Volkner as champion, Cynthia as a random trainer, and some Volkner-esque replacement for gym 8, people would understand my pain with Emerald
For reallll But my biggest gripe with emerald is Match Call. Why remove Trainer's Eyes?! That was the coolest rematch feature and the one that made the most sense!
This is such an insane concept. The only sad thing is the vanishing-pokémon-part, since that forces you to end up with a team you would have used in a normal playthrough anyway, but I guess it's the thorough thing to do. (Also the fact that it says "condolences!" instead of congratulations whenever one of your pokémon devolves is so funny to me)
They should’ve made a “final decision” moment when you meet up with Birch getting attacked by a Zigzagoon, where you choose to let Birch live or die before you go back home and into the truck to end this run. 😂

Feeling emotional, the trainer wanted this moment to last forever and after a long journey and hard work, he finally became the champion of Hoenn. Wallace, realizing the desire of the trainer, gives him a device that'd allow him to return at this moment any time he wanted. Brendan presses the button, and everything starts to go backwards. A guy who understands his situation, says the only way of fixing that is restarting his journey. He returns to his town, to only fight again his first battle and lose his loved torchic. After that he leaves hoenn, asking himself if the whole work to achieve that was worth it. The time returns to normal, but this time he decides to never leave Johto, May's dad never got rescued. None ever defated the champion. Now Wallace finally got his ravange and NEVER turned into a forgotten champion.
This might sound dumb but I've been wanting to try Nuzlockes but keep getting nervous at the prospect of having a party wipe halfway through the game and losing all my progress. I might implement your "doesn't count" rule just for ease of mind. Thanks for the (accidental) suggestion!
"even through intimidate" mate, all dragon moves do special damage in gen 3, if you do gens 1-3 nuzlockes you should know this before attempting the run. I don't know how you played through this game so many times without knowing this mechanic or anyone else pointing this out to you at all.
Do you know how pokemon physical and special attacks worked in gens 1-3? Intimidate on salamence didn't matter since it was using dragon moves anyways, meaning it was using it's special attack, not it's attack. This is also why alakazam's shadow ball did pathetic damage, since it's ghost type, ergo physical (yes, ghost is physical)
All the cases where you give stuff back and pay people for losing feels like your character had a crisis of character and is attempting to repent for their champion's journey apparently being a life of crime. XD Maybe he had a long chat with N, considering he gave up his Pokemon too.

Hope you enjoyed! I'll also be live on twitch tonight at 7pm EST with a Pokemon X randomizer, come check it out! www.twitch.tv/papasea
Pokemon Backwards is pretty weird
There's a moment in the anime, where this guy throws a Master Ball, at a Whiscash, which it promptly eats and swims away. The moment is hilarious.
I remember!

Nice rom hack, dude! Very unique compared to most of the ones you see that just add new/later pokemon with a few other quality-of-life improvements.

Putting Shadow Ball on Alakazam was worthless, because this is gen 3, and Ghost is still a purely physical type, while Alakazam's Attack is garbage.
This mightve been fixed in emerald, but before that, for sure

Intimidate wouldn't have affected your dragon claw damage in the Drake fight because all Dragon moves are special in Emerald
Also the reason Counter did nothing after you used Dragon Rage.

Zigzagoon final boss
Fun concept! I wonder if you can under-level your starter so that it’s under level 5 by the time you get to Prof Birch?
I like the Friends reference…… I’d give a sub for that, but i already am subscribed
Dragon rage is a special move even now so counter woulda failed anyways

3:55 even though it’s been 3 years the fact that the term has become apart of your regular vocabulary is crazy
3:54 would be a better timestamp, because by 3:55, the "hammer away" phrase has already been said.
5:25 people always forgets that Shadow ball is physical in gen 2 and 3 XD not a good move to have on Alakazam
