1st they close down the old stadium. Then Mariano retires. Next, The Captain retires. Now, John Sterling. I been listening since he took over for Phil. From Holy Cow to, theeeeeeeeee Yankees Winnnnnn. I'm Heart broken. You know, as Yankee fans, we get used to greatness. Then we take it for granted. We feel it's always gonna be there. I guess "that's Baseball Susan" We❤️J.S. Damn I'm gonna miss that voice.
John retired because he can't stand to watch the garbage product on the field. The Yankees have been dull and boring for years. John, best of luck . You're awesome.
I might sound greedy here when I say this, but it was so abrupt but if we make the World Series this year please John call one more World Series for us. It’s been so long since we’ve been in it and it wouldn’t be the same especially if we win it enjoy your retirement man, you definitely earned it And will be missed sorely
God Speed!!! Thank you for all the memories been listening to Yankees broadcasts since the summer of 1964 at the tender age of 7. You and Susan were my favorites!!!!!!
John Sterling's command of language, depth of knowledge and understanding of baseball and its history will never be matched. I am grateful to have experienced this perfect combination for so many years: Baseball, Radio and John Sterling!
Love John Sterling and my all time favorite call is when Urshella hits a homer........"Oh that Gio Urshella is a happy fella" Enjoy your retirement Mr. Sterling!!!!!!! 👍🗽
I remember listening to the radio driving home from my girlfriend's house, now wife, the night the Boone hit the home run in game 7 of the 2003 ALCS to send the Yankees to the WS. John Sterling and Charlie Steiner making the call. I damn near crashed into a tree from my first pump. That will be the one moment that sticks out to me about John Sterling. Nevermind all the other great moments mentioned here. Thank you John.
My grandmother got to see DiMaggio and Mantle, my Mom got to see Munson, and Nettles, and Righetti, and I got to see Jeter, and Rivera, and so many more. Now I can add, I heard John Sterling.
